A/N: Still don't own it. Was betaed by The Congressman. I am now redundant so I will hopefully be able to update more often.
"We have partners for a reason." Elliot muttered under his breathe. He was even more pissy then usual after finding out that he and De something would be staying with Cragen and Olivia was going with that Israeli woman to D.C instead of him.
"Do our captains not trust us or something? Elliot continued grumbling.
"Can it Stabler!" A frustrated DiNozzo growled as he stomped on accelerator to take off in a tiny gap in traffic in a way that would have made Gibbs proud.
Grabbing at the door, Elliot groaned.
"Where the bloody hell did you learn to drive?"
"I learnt from a Marine."
"Turn here, quick. Who was the marine?" Elliot said giving directions.
My boss, Leroy Jethro Gibbs. He was a Gunn..."
"Gunnery Sergeant in Kuwait. Ran out onto the mine field after he got the news that his wife and daughter had died. I always did wonder what happened to him." Elliot clicked as to where he knew the name.
"He is now Lead Agent of MCRT at Washington D.C's NCIS office."
"At least Liv will be safe then with him watching her back." Elliot said as he felt a huge weight leave his shoulders.
The Gulf War had been the detective's introduction to the United States Marine Corps, and all for the sake of who got to control the oil. Elliot had been the youngest in the units deployed to Kuwait, only just old enough to join the marines as it would be the easiest and quickest way for him and his then new and pregnant bride to have money come in and support them. He had seen Jethro when he received the news about Shannon and Kelly and he was throwing up when he heard the mines go off. Yes, he knew it was a reality that he could die, but the idea of his wife and unborn child dying on American soil was until then incomprehensible. Now that he worked for NYPD he understood just how unrealistic that idea was. Over the years Elliot worked as a LEO he had seen so much. Unfortunately those sights drove a wedge between him and Kathy. After the debaticale with Dickie's friend Shane, Kathy and Elliot decided that being separated was a good idea. Elliot didn't want to burden Kathy with what he seen but he had to talk about it. Kathy kept the house and their children but Elliot still had his key and half his clothing was moved into what was the spare room. Living between there and Olivia's apartment Elliot was some what happy. Both of them agreed it would be better to end on a good note and still have a strong friendship for them and their children. Kathy then continuously pushed her ex husband and his work partner together until they realised their feelings for each other. Kathy wanted Elliot to have someone who understood the job and didn't object when Olivia set her up with the lawyer, Trevor Langan. This would be the first time since Elliot and Olivia were together that they would be in separate states. He would definitely be going to see his children tonight.
He was jerked from his thoughts when Tony asked him where to park Directing the Fed to the parking spot that he used, Elliot vowed to never let him drive again. Leading the way from the underground parking to the bullpen where the rest of the squad was waiting, Elliot's hand sat over his gun. Tony of course noticed this. Great, a 6ft gun ho detective Tony thought.
"Looky here, 'Detective Anthony D DiNozzo Jr has moved up in the world!" Exclaimed John Munch with an Italian accent on the SFA's name as Tony and Elliot walked through the door.
"Munchy, long time not talk. How many ex wives are we up to now?" Tony asked as he did the 'man hug' with the older Detective.
"No more than last time." John said with a grimace. "Let me introduce you to my partner, Odafin Tutuola."
Tony offered his hand which Fin gladly took.
"Call me Fin." Fin said gruffly. Anyone who was a friend of Munch who didn't appear to be a conspiracy theorist nut was ok in his book.
"Ok people, we have Layla Brown who was raped at a similar time as her Navy son was killed. All lab work is running through NCIS as they have better equipment and are able to get results in half the time. O'Halleran is doing video conferencing with Ms. Scutio so that he can translate out of 'science speak' into English for us. Agent DiNozzo, could you tell us about the son?" Captain Cragen announced.
"I thought it was being investigated as two separate investigations!" Elliot cut in.
"Lead Agent Gibbs and I decided otherwise, Detective Stabler." Captain Cragen said with a glare before gesturing to Tony to take the floor.
"Two Lieutenant Sergeants were on Rec Leave for the weekend. When the didn't report for duty the following Monday at 0700 the MP's went to their off base housing. The MP's found them dead and we were called to investigate TOD is estimated by Ducky, Dr. Donald Mallard, as 1600 Sunday. Josef Cook and Jarrod Brown were killed after being made to suffer. Sodemised and strangled, there is proof were they were revived after the strangulation and then they were hung. Both men had recently come out as gay. We have DNA from under Josef's finger nails of at least one attacker." Tony summarised.
Then Fin spoke up.
"Layla Brown was raped in the back seat of a fake cab on Monday night. The cab had fake plates and fake numbers. There was a public hair found in Mrs. Brown's underwear. She only reported the incident after she was arrested, suspected of being a hooker as she was dropped in a place VICE had a lot of trouble with. When they realised she had been raped, they called us. Mr. Brown was also Navy until he was KIA when Jarrod was 15. Mrs. Brown never remarried."
A phone rang with some 'music' Fin liked his heavy metal but that was to 'heavy' for even him.
"Whatcha got Abbs?" Tony asked.
The babble he got was typical of his favourite Goth.
"Slow down Abbs, loose the 'geek speak' and you are on speaker." Tony said calmly.
"Ok, Major Mass Spec says that the DNA from Mrs. Brown's rape kit matches half the DNA from Josef's fingernails. There was definitely more than one person involved with this but the two are definitely connected. Tony Boy?" Abbey said much calmer.
"Yes, Abbs?" Tony asked.
"Please be super duper careful. Gibbs' gut is hinky and something doesn't seem quite right."
"I'll be fine Abbs. I have another Marine for a partner. It will be ok." Tony said placatingly.
He shut is phone off to see four questioning faces looking at him.
"Tony Boy?" Munch asked with an eyebrow raised.
Tony shrugged. "It makes her happy and you don't want an angry Abbey Scutio my friends."
"DiNozzo, Stabler, go see Mrs. Brown and give her the remainder of the bad news." Captain Cragen said rubbing the back of his head. There were days he hated this job. "Oh, and by the way gentlemen, Let DiNozzo do the talking Stabler?" Captain Cragen asked as an afterthought, stressing the SFA's name.
