Italics are inner thoughts I though were best expressed from their POV instead of 3rd person. Hope you like it! The last one was so short, and hopefully I'll make them about this length from now on.

(Anakin POV)

Anakin sat on the couch staring at the small fountian in the middle of the sitting room. The sphere in the

center glissened as the water ran off of it. The sun was getting lower in the sky. Hopefully Padme will be

back from congress soon, he thought.

Why does everything have to revolve around politics?

He continued to stare at the fountian until he heard a familiar voice.

"... won't be a bother at all Miss Padme, I am a protocol droid after all. I can bring your dinner to your office

and sort through it there..."

"Anakin!"

"The Maker!"

Anakin rose the moment he saw her in the doorway. They walked towards each other, almost in a trance. He

looked at her, trying to take in every detail. She looked stunning, as usual. Her hair in its natural, wavy

state. And he did always like the way she looked in purple. Her big brown eyes stared up at him, they

seemed to sparkle in the setting sun light. As they held each other close, all the memories of the lake

country in Nabo come flooding back. Rolling around in the grass without any worries, they were like a real

couple there.

"I've missed you so much Padme," he leaned back from their embrace to kiss her forehead. He tucked one

arm under hers, reaching his hand up into her hair. The other was around her waist, both arms pulling her as

close as possible to him. He never wanted to let go.

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"

"It was sort of short notice, Ahsoka has some meditation training to do at the temple, so I called back home."

"I like when you call this place home," she said beaming up at him.

"Home is where your family is, where the people you love are. I'm at home whenever I'm with you."

(Padme POV)

They retreated to the living room and sat on the couch. She always loved when he was home, it was so lonely

otherwise. She had 3PO and her guards, but it wasn't the same as having Anakin home. Knowing he was safe

was always a good feeling, but having him there with her was even more of a relief.

"Sorry it took me so long to get home, the Refugee Relief Committee was discussing..."

"We're going to forget all about that stuff tonight. We'll make dinner, start a fire, and just do... whatever

normal husbands and wives do."

"Anakin, normal husbands and wives talk about their day at work." She rolled her eyes. That was Ani, always

dreaming of an ideal world to live in.

"Well... I guess that's true," he shrugged. Then the shrug changed to a smirk, "or we could just skip the

talking..." he was leaning in for a kiss. Tempting, but he's not getting it that easily.

"Ani, I think I rather hear what you've been up to lately. What planets have you traveled to, what people

have you saved?"

(Anakin POV)

They continued to chat and flirt well into the evening. Anakin couldn't wait to get to bed though. Sleeping on

the ground near a battle field wasn't necessarily relaxing, maybe if he was lucky he had a tent or his

starfighter to sleep in. With Padme, he can embrace her warmth. He can curl up and dream without care of

tomorrow's battle plans or meetings with peacekeepers. He could relax for once, and focus on the one thing

he always wants to focus on.

He always dreamed about her. Her beautiful eyes staring at him lovingly. She often whispered to him, saying

his name or I love you in her sweet hushed voice. How could he stop thinking of her? She haunted him every

night, giving him glimpses of the life they could have. He saw her pregnant, living in the lake country on

Naboo. She would be an excellent mother. She was selfless, quite often putting needs of others above her

own. Anakin often struggled with this in the past, but more recently, he thought of Padme as his one reward

for being selfless the rest of the time.

As they laid in bed, Padme snuggled up to his chest.

"I've really missed you Ani"

"I always miss you."

"Even when I'm here right now?"

"Well, I miss you less right now because you are with me." Why am I terrible with words?

"Miss me less?"

"That's not exactly what I meant. When we've been apart for a long time I miss you more. And when there is

anticipation that I may see you soon. When you're in my dreams its almost painful when I don't wake up with

you next to me... does that make sense?"

"Yes, when the chancellor, or anyone else mentions you, I feel my heart ache. I'm afraid you'll get hurt. But I know when we're together you're safe."

"I never want to leave you again Padme." He knew the request was impossible, but he wished it wasn't.

Finally they curled up close together, forgetting what was or wasn't possible for the night. All that mattered

was that they were together, even if it was only for a moment.
