A/N I forgot this when I wrote last chapter. I do NOT own Mass Effect or any references I might use. Alright, let's do this!
I am dreaming. At least, I know I am. It's one of those lucid dreams some people have but... I am not known for being able to do that. I look around and it's dark, cold. I smell something. It's an unusual smell because it smells like fire and something burning. It smells pungent and horrible like burning flesh. I stop myself. How do I know that?
I look behind me and I see a light. It's a little dot as far as I can see. I start walking towards the light but as I keep walking, the smell gets worse and worse. I force the bile that was coming up back down. I must keep my cool. The light is now a bright light and I cover my eyes as I reach the light. My eyes adjust and I uncover my eyes. What I see is horror. It's a pile of bodies burning. I turn around to keep the bile from coming up. I take a deep breathe and I turn around to look what's there.
There's a bunch of bodies either burning or burnt. They have different sizes and shapes indicating that the bodies are of different races. I noticed something weird though. The faces are not burning. They are still intact while their bodies keep burning. I look in horror as they all stare at me, deep into my soul. And than I think something rather strange. They are all from either the Normandy S-1 or S-2. I stop. That doesn't make sense. I thought. There is no S-2. Than, as one, they all charged at me and started suffocating me. They were screaming at me as one. "Why did you leave us to die!?"
I start to scream in pain and fear. They choke me and beat me. They are tearing me apart. I need to wake up now! I thought. They yell incoherently at me and I scream in pain. Come on, Wake up! WAKE UP!
I wake up with a start in the pod and I hear the beeping going on outside the pod. There are several people looking at me worried. I open the pod and I tumble out, onto the floor. The bile that I was keeping down came up. I close my eyes and breathe shakily.
What was that? I thought.
"Son, you ok?' someone said. I look up and it's Anderson. I give a small sigh of relief and I shake my head yes.
"That dream was horrible." I said with some relief in my voice. The year is 2183. The events of Mass Effect are coming. Today, it's the beginning of the end. I thought morbidly.
Anderson looked at me in concern. "You scared me and the commander there." He said with some relief in his voice as well.
The commander looked at me but with a more confident looked. "I may have been concerned, but I knew he was ok. It would take more than a nightmare to take him down."
I look at Shepard with an amused and curious smile. "Thanks for the vote of confidence." I said.
"No problem. It's the least I can do for my big brother." H said with mischievous smile. Shepard and me got to know each other long before I was stationed on the Normandy. We met before and after he was on Akuze and we have been like brothers. He calls me his "big brother" because i'm older than him by 4 years, but he is several ranks above me.
"Where are we?" I said with some confusion.
"We are on the Normandy, where the pods are."
"Hardy fucking har. Smart ass. I mean are we near a planet?" I said with a grin.
"We are in orbit above Eden Prime." Anderson said while looking at Shepard.
My smile withered away like a dieing rose. Oh no. Eden Prime. It's happening today isn't it? I thought to myself. I have trained myself to be kinda a jack of all trades but I do prefer certain things over others. I am a medic so I can treat most battle wounds, but I am no slouch in combat. I prefer assault rifles and shotguns above all else. I obviously can't use biotics so I'm screwed there. I am at best with tech. I am one top engineers on the ship so I prefer Overload and any tech attacks.
Shepard looks at me in concern. "Are you ok?'
I snap out of it and looks at Shepard, nodding. "Yea. I was just going through my head any possibility's of things going wrong. I don't want another massacre like..." I trail off, not wanting to finish the sentence.
Shepard winces at me not finishing the sentence. He knows what I am talking about. I'm glad he's a biotic and not me. I don't think I could handle being a biotic. He's also a great soldier as well. He's capable of using weapons proficiently, but he prefer's his biotics.
'Your coming with me on the ground team with Kaiden and Jenkins." Shepard said to me. He decided to walk away at that moment to tell the other's. Jenkins. Maybe I could save him but I don't know if I can, but that doesn't mean i'm not going to try. I stand up and I start walking to my locker. It's starting. Today, it's the beginning of the end. I thought morbidly. Let's hope this turns out well, for all our sakes.
A/N
Phoenix: Well that took a while.
/Well you can't blame yourself for the computer fucking up./
Phoenix: True but I had an enormous backlog and now it's gone.
/Ok. Let me tell the audience what happened. Basically he had a backlog and had at least 10 chapter's written but the computer he's using took a shit on him and he lost all the chapter's./
Phoenix: Exactly! And I don't want to remember all the things I wrote so I'm rewriting all the chapter's. And the other character will appear trust me. I haven't forgotten.
/Time to end the A/N. See ya laddies./
Phoenix: Auf Weidersehn.
