February 1 2052

It's the month of Love so I'm certain that work will be packed all this month. That means that I'll get plenty of money for my labor this month, but it also means that I will see all of those couples together with this terrible feeling that I've lost the person that I'm supposed to be with. I did try to get a girlfriend but just like I thought, it didn't feel right so I broke up with her almost immediately. And I still feel like something is missing. I can't put a ring on my left hand or people will think I'm married, but...

Whoaaa just the thought of that made me feel warm and right inside. So what's missing from my left hand is a wedding ring?! I was married?! But I don't remember anything like that! I know there are holes in my memory. Things that don't make sense or connect but, being married?! You would think that I would remember something like that!

Oh gosh if I was married does that mean that I also had kids?! Am I a father?! Those thoughts make me feel warm as well but...it just doesn't make sense. Maybe it's just my bodies way of telling me that I'm ready to settle down and not just have a girlfriend, but an actual serious relationship with the right one.I think I'll try that.

I really hope that's the reason...otherwise I'm a terrible father! Who forgets that they have kids?!

FEBRUARY

February 6

So it's that month again. Well for you it's the first February, but for me it's another. And with February comes that dreaded holiday. Valentines Day. Now since I'm dating Peter I shouldn't find this holiday so dreaded but unfortunately I just can't feel as happy about going out with my boyfriend on the day that my parents got perpetually engaged. Vater is just always so quiet on this day and while he does his best to entertain Ari and Michael, I know that his heart is not entirely there. He's not thinking of that day. He's thinking of other day. Many other days and then one day in particular. The day we got the phone call.

And now I'm crying and it's not even April yet. I need to stop listening to Les Mis music so often. That's a habit that started back in the last years of the war. I'm not the only one that has it either.

But enough of sad things...back to this entry. So yeah Valentines Day good part. Peter decided to join a group date this time in the hopes that it will keep me in better spirits than when it was just the two of us. So we're going with Laszlo and Kazumi, Lorenzo and Andrew, Coen and Piroska, Courtney and Aaron, and Pierre did ask Roslyn out. Serefino elected not to bother so he could stay home and take care Uncle Antonio and Sienna. Uncle Toni tends to get depressed on this holiday as well. I think that everyone that's lost their love does. And now I'm back to feeling sad.

You know what I can't write at the moment. I can't keep my thoughts happy enough to write down the plans so I will try again later.

February 8

The plan is to have an outdoors Valentines dinner under the stars and to have nice take-out food. Apart from that the plans aren't entirely well...planned. Nothing ever really is when boys are in charge. I hope that it turns out all right and that Ari and Michael can keep Vater occupied enough to not let his mind wander so much.

Oh and I went back to the abandoned house again. Today I found a pen. Too small to have initials so I don't know if it was MW again.

February 15

So yesterday went quite well, but we ended up getting home later than expected and my phone died so by the time I walked through the door, Vater was both angry and frantic. He immediately ordered Peter home and grilled me about where I had been and why I had been so late and ignored my phone. And now I'm grounded for the rest of the week, which means no boyfriend or regular friends for that matter. I hate it when Vater gets this way! I'm not a normal child! I'm a city for goodness sake!

But I can't blame Vater for being this way since the last time someone made a promise to him to come home...

They didn't.

And now I'm too upset to write again. If I remember then I'll tell you about my Valentines Day group date.

February 26

I'm completely in shock and freaking out. So it's near the end of the month which means another trip to Venice for good groceries right? Well before we do that tomorrow, I decided to use today to go to the abandoned house again. Peter and my friends have been taking up the other days since I was released from my grounding, so today was the first day that I had free. I almost didn't because Vater had a meeting, but I convinced Lor and Laz to watch our siblings. Go me!

Anyways, I don't have time to talk about all that right now because at the house...at the abandoned house. I found out the actual name of MW and you are not going to believe what it is! Well actually since you're a new journal you won't know the significance of this name but you'll understand when I tell you. Ok here goes...

So I went to the abandoned house and this time a text book had been left at the base of a tree and inside the front cover of that text book it said property of Matthew Williams, please return if found! Matthew Williams! The same name that Canada had! Canada that died in the war with the aliens! I'm just completely in shock.

There is no way that it could be...could it? I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but I think I really need to visit uncle Gil soon. Like tomorrow soon!

February 27

I chickened out. I went to visit Uncle Gil but outside his house I started to worry about what he would say and that I might just make him upset. So I ended up slipping around to the backyard in order to think things over under cover of the trees. And in the end I couldn't face him with my question. But I do plan to e-mail him because of something strange I found hidden in some bushes behind the house.

Clothes. Uncle Matthew's clothes in fact. It was like a scene out of Time Traveler's Wife! Where the girl waiting for the time traveler always had clothes hidden in the forest behind her house because he would always show up naked because that's just the way his ability worked. So with thoughts of that movie running through my head there is no way that I can't ask Uncle Gil about it. I will e-mail him first thing tomorrow and see what he says.

Well I thought I saw an actual ghost in the woods outside the house so I kept going back to investigate and I found several lost items on various days. A hat, scarf, sweater, water bottle, and pen. All except the pen had the initials MW on them. But two days ago I found a text book and inside was written

Property of Matthew Williams with an address of where to return it if lost!

I didn't really want to tell you but since you asked me to tell you the full reason why I was curious about the clothes...

Juliet I haven't told anyone about this, not even the people that would have been specifically affected by it but since I don't think you'll give me Matties address until I tell you then I have no choice.

What I meant by last time is that a country died a long long time ago. I'm talking a really long time ago. And who it was...

My younger brother. Your Vater. Though at that time he was known as The Holy Roman Empire. Germany is the name that he got when people started properly colonizing that area and came up with a name for it. And that's when he was reborn again. But he was the same age that he had been when he died. And despite the fact that he had lost all his memories, he still acted like the same little brother that I had cared about, before his people went crazy with power and affected him. I changed his human name as well when he was reborn, so that no one else would suspect what I knew to be true. His old name was Michael. That's why your Vater had such a strong desire to name your little brother that since he resembles himself so much. You see Juliet, while he may not remember his life as HRE, your Vater does still have unconscious emotional ties to it. And that includes his love and devotion to your papa. I won't tell you that relationship back then because I don't fully know all the details and it would probably be unawesome towards Feli if I just make assumptions. You can ask when you have the chance.

So that's the story. The clothes thing was just because I thought it might be a memory stimulant for Mattie if he came across them while exploring someplace that felt unconsciously familiar to him. The thing is that I expected him to show up in Canada rather than in Germany. I just can't understand what he's doing there instead of here. Especially if what you suspect is true and your papa is in Venice. That makes sense. Canada reappearing in Germany doesn't.

So now I've told you the truth. Please tell me Matties address. Oh and also don't do anything rash like rush off to Venice. Remember I said that they have no memories of their previous life, and I don't even know if they can regain that with help. The clothes thing was mainly just a blind hope.

Oh and the apartment is by TUD, so I assume that he's a student there. Maybe he's doing a semester abroad and that's why he's in Germany instead of Canada. Either way I took a picture of the address and sent it to you in a text. Thank you for telling me Uncle Gil. I don't know how I feel about finding out that both my parents have died at some point. But if what you say is true about Vater then that means that it must be papa! It must be! And you might not have been successful but that doesn't mean that others can't be! I'll see first and then think things over. For now this is just a secret between the two of us yes?

Papa might be alive again! I found out a lot of things from Uncle Gil, most of which I just can't bring myself to put down in here but I will say that. The waiter in Venice might really be papa! I'm going to find out as soon as I can get away without having to tell anybody where I'm going. That's going to be difficult but I think I can manage it if I plan well tonight. I can't believe it! I can't stop crying from joy! I'll soon get asked what's wrong and I'll to come up with an excuse.

I have to stop writing now so I can think of an excuse.
