***Chapter 17***

Kagome couldn't help but think she was lucky having such a great guy with her who was holding her close and leaning his forehead against hers. Looking up into his eyes she couldn't help but think of how beautiful his eyes were and how warm they seemed to be. Reaching up she cupped his face in her hand again before winding her arm around his neck and holding him close.

Leaning up she kissed the tip of his nose before leaning back and looking up at him, "So what had you thinking so hard that you looked ready to beat someone within a inch of their life?" she asked as she smiling up at him while her hand was playing with the hair at the back of his head.

Berserker wasn't shocked that she had asked him that question he was almost waiting for that but he almost went crossed eyed when she kissed his nose. He was curious as to how she had gotten so good at reading people because like he thought earlier no one he knew could read him like she was doing. Looking down and seeing her questioning look he had to control a shudder at her playing with the back of his neck and his hair.

"The school is known for its fights I don't want you mixed up with any of them." He told her deciding to be honest with her about why he looked ready to kill. He was only a little bit shocked at seeing her smile up at him after he told her what had gotten to him.

Kagome couldn't help but smile up at Shougo when he said that he was basically worried about her getting hurt because of the school she was going to. She couldn't help but think it was adorable that he was worried about her even though she hadn't even went to the school yet, she couldn't help but wonder what he would say if she told him that she could handle anything thrown at her. After all the training she had gotten while in the past she didn't really think anyone that wasn't a master could really have a chance a beating her. But, after looking up at him and enjoying the feeling of someone actually worried about her well being she decided that she would keep it to herself for a little while longer. It didn't help that she was worried that he wouldn't want anything to do with her if he knew about her fighting.

Berserker noticed a look in her eyes she went from being happy to nervous he was getting ready to comment on it when both of their phones went off at the same time he decided to ignore his. He had told Odin to leave him be today and he had no intention of answering the phone, looking at Kagome she didn't really want to answer the phone for fear that it would be her stalker again. Giving her a kiss on the nose like she did to him he gave her a smile and kissed her forehead before pulling back a little bit but keeping one arm wrapped around her to reassure her.

Kagome was a little bit surprised when her phone went off and when Shougo's went off to she really didn't want to answer her phone what if the was Hojo again she really didn't want to have to deal with him. She was pulled out of her thoughts when Shougo leaned down and kissed her nose then her forehead and then pulled back but kept one arm around her feeling safe she smiled up at him as she pulled her phone out and answered it while still looking up at him and smiling.

"Hello?" she said into the phone she hadn't even looked at the number before answering the phone.

"Kagome, I know you are out and all but I was wondering when you was coming home it's almost time for dinner and was wondering if you was going to be joining us?" Akisame's voice came though the phone into her ear startling her out of her thoughts of pulling Shougo down and kissing him for making her feel safe and warm just by being near her.

"Oh, uncle Aki! I am sorry I got caught up enjoying my time and didn't notice the time I'll be making my way there in a few minutes it shouldn't take me long to get there. Okay?" she said while still looking up at Shougo hoping he wouldn't get mad at her for needing to leave. Noticing him looking down at her and smiling she knew he wasn't mad at her.

"Okay, Kagome just be careful and I'll let Miu know that you're going to make it for dinner." He told her.

"That's great Aki I'll be home in a little bit." She told him before hanging up and putting her phone away.

"I'm really sorry Shougo about that and I can understand if your upset with me having to leave." She said looking down not really wanting to see him upset with her.

Berserker listened to the conversation he couldn't help but smile happy that her uncle had called and checked on her and was making sure whether or not she was coming back. In a way he envied her closeness with her family that was something he had never had. After hearing her saying she would understand if he was upset with her he couldn't help but chuckle a little bit and holding her close. He was already thinking about what it would be like to just keep her beside him and never let her go so that she would know that he would never be upset with her or ever let her go.

Deciding he would hold off on picking her up and just carrying her and locking her up at his place so she could never get away. "It's alright I understand." He told her while pulling her close and moving them back in the direction that they came in when they met this morning.

Kagome feeling it was to be good to be true couldn't help but think that once they went to go that he would tell her that he didn't want to see her after today. She really didn't want this to be over already she didn't know why but she didn't want to leave him even if was just going to be going home. She was already getting sad at the thought that he was going to leave her and never come back she didn't even notice when she tightened her hand into his shirt.

Berserker was brought out of his thoughts of what he would do if he just carried Kagome back to his place, when he felt her tightening her grip in his shirt. Looking down he noticed that she looked sad and he knew he didn't like seeing that look on her face, she should never be sad she should always be smiling.

Coming to a stop and pulling her close again, "Hey what's wrong?" he asked he worried that he had done something to upset her.

Kagome looked up when he pulled her close and hearing him ask what wrong looking up into his eyes she could tell he was really worried that she was upset. At seeing that she knew that her fears were pointless giving him a smile before nuzzling into his chest and inhaling his scent.

"It's nothing just a old fear raising it head and making me second guess myself is all." She said not taking her head away from his chest.

Hearing her say that it was just an old fear he didn't like the sound of that why she shouldn't have and fears, it got him thinking of what she said earlier about being betrayed by someone she thought she was close to. Tighten his hold on her he held her close wanting her to know that he would never betray her in any form reaching up he gently lifted her face to look at him. Giving her a smirk he leaned down and kissed her trying to put all his feeling into that one kiss to let her know.

Kagome couldn't help but smile when Shougo tightened his hold on her and when he lifted her face she almost melted when she saw that smirk and she did melt when he started to kiss her. Feeling all the passion in that kiss it made every doubt she had vanish from her mind and heart, she felt like that kiss could have gone on forever if it wasn't the fact they needed to breathe and Shougo's phone going off again.

Pulling back from Kagome, Berserker couldn't help but thinking of how slowly he could murder the person that was calling his phone and where to hide the body so it would never be found again. Hearing chuckling he looked down he noticed that Kagome had put her face against his chest again and was trying to hide her laughter in his chest. Giving a smile and a small chuckle he leaning his head against hers' and listened to her try and not to laugh.

After seeing the look on his face just because his phone went off Kagome knew she couldn't keep from laughing and leaned into his chest to keep from laughing out loud. When he tightened his hold and she heard him chuckle she knew he found it funny as well.

Leaning back she looked up at him and smiled, "That's the third time your phone has gone off Shougo I think someone is really trying to get a hold of you." She said while giving a chuckle at seeing him sigh like his phone going off was a terrible thing. Giving him pull she started walking toward the area they had met at this morning she couldn't stop smiling as they walked still holding on to each other.

Once they reached the bench from this morning she turned into his arms and smiled up at him not really looking forward to parting here, but she figured someone was really trying to get a hold of him and it wasn't that far a walk from here to the dojo.

"Well I guess this is where I head on home." She told him while giving him a sad smile and reaching for her bags and gave a small pout when he moved them out of her reach looking up she noticed he didn't want to part ways either. Giving him a smile she leaned into him again wrapped her arms around him and held him close.

"I don't want to go but we both know I have to go if just for today." She told him while leaning her head back to look up at him, leaning up she kissed his chin before reaching and taking the bags from his hands and leaning back into him again. Pulling away and giving him a smile she started walking in the direction of the dojo.

"Kagome!" Shougo said not liking seeing her walk away from him but he took into consideration what she said about her just having to leave his side just for today. When she turned and smiled up at him he grabbed her and pulled her into a demanding kiss before letting go.

"Text me the moment you get home so I know you made it." He told her before leaning back down and kissing her again and giving a smile at watching her dazed look on her face. He watched as she nodded and winked before turning and heading toward her house, once she was out of sight he pulled out his cell and narrowed his eyes at what he had seen before turning and heading toward his place to change clothes.

Kagome couldn't help but think she was on cloud nine when she headed toward the dojo and kept on smiling and couldn't wait to see Shougo again.

"Well, well what do we have here boys such a lovely gem just walking around by herself, don't you think she would enjoy our company?" when she heard this she glanced to the side and saw five guys standing there watching her and she could tell from the looks on their faces that what they had in mind she wanted nothing to do with. Giving them a stare that would freeze moving water before turning and walking on toward the dojo, but they didn't seem to understand when to walk away.

"Hey you stupid little fucking bitch where do you think you are going?" yelled the one that spoke earlier.

Kagome froze she always hated being called anything but her name and after everything in the past she really hated it, sitting her bags down on the side and putting a small barrier around them so no one would take anything she turned, giving them a smirk that made shivers go down their spines.
