***Chapter 20***

After leaving everyone outside Kagome walked back inside and had to bite her lip to try and stop the memories that showed up in her mind. She kept seeing Sango smiling while holding her hiraikotsu smiling at her, Miroku standing behind her smiling with a red hand print. After sparring with Sakaki Kagome couldn't help the memories that kept coming forward, like when she first started training with both Sango and Miroku how they all laughed at her when she tried to pick up the hiraikotsu and couldn't move it.

Giving a shake of her head and a sad chuckle she made her way to the kitchen and noticed that Miu had already started cooking but wasn't done with the main dish. Kagome smiled as she walked toward the sink while making sure her hair was out of the way, after washing her hands she walked toward the fridge and looked through it to see what she had to work with.

Pulling out the chicken and getting other things that she need she went about make chicken, while she was cooking she couldn't help but thing of the things that had happened lately. She started thinking about Shougo and how she hadn't know him that long but it felt right somehow, in a way she felt like she was using him to maybe help her forget the past. While moving basically on autopilot she went ahead and started fixing more things for supper, now that she was really thinking about it things between her and Shougo really where moving very quickly.

Kagome sighed, What am I going to do? She asked herself while cutting some veggie and adding them to the pan.

Unaware that she was being watched by almost everyone.

Akisame couldn't help but watch his niece as she cooked and he could almost see his sister when he was watching her like this, that look on her face that said her body was here but her mind was too far away to reach. He thought maybe she was still thinking about what had happened to make her come here, and hoped she would talk to him so he could help her move on and past the pain. He was pulled from his thoughts by a hand on his shoulder, looking over he noticed old man Hayato who motioned with his head and it was then that he was standing alone. Walking with him Akisame walked outside and noticed how quiet everyone was even Kenichi.

"Something seems to really be trouble your niece Akisame?" Old man Hayato said while stroking his bread, Hayato didn't know if Akisame or anyone else had noticed but that poor girl had too much sorrow and pain in her eyes for one so young.

"Yes, Kagome is doing right now what her mother always did when she was upset, I don't mean the cooking but the look on her face. My sister would have this look that always said she was lost in her thoughts, right now Kagome is doing the same thing." Akisame told him while sitting with his arms in his sleeves and his eyes closed, the last time he had seen his sister like that was not long after her husband had died.

"From what you have told us so far I think the girl has a reason to be like she is right now, but hopefully she can move on staying in the memories of the past is never a healthy thing." Kensei said while tilting his head down and lost in his own thoughts.

Sakaki was lost in his own thoughts sitting on the edge of the porch and looking out over the grounds, he would admit he had seen many fighters over his life and many different expressions on each face. But, the look in her eyes when he fought her was more than he thought even could stand, she was only eighteen but had the eyes of someone four times her age. Someone who has hit the bottom and crawled and bled to reach the top again, someone who has lost blood and shed blood to become who they were. Glancing over out of the corner of his eyes he looked at Akisame and wondered if the man knew his niece as well as he thought he did. He never thought he would see eyes like that on a kid and he prayed that it didn't stop her from finding the happiness she deserves.

Giving a sigh, "Right now the only thing we can do is show our support of her and hope we can help when she finally comes out and tells us what happened to her." Sakaki said while turning his head and looking at everyone hoping they would understand not to badger the poor kid.

Akisame was a little bit surprised by what Sakaki said he didn't expect an answer like that from the man. Giving a sigh of his own but he did understand what Sakaki was getting at and he knew he would have to wait but he didn't like seeing Kagome like this. Thinking back he wished she would be open with him like she used to be when she was younger, but like his sister told him once that all women need their space and Kagome would be no different. Before he could say anything the door was opened when everyone turned they saw Kagome standing there with a smile on her face.

"Supper is ready whenever you want to eat." Kagome told them while smiling at all of them.

Kagome had to admit she was a little bit puzzled while looking at everyone's auras, and couldn't help but wonder what everyone was talking and thinking about. Their auras seemed to show confusion, curiosity, and understanding, giving a shrug of her shoulder she went ahead and turned to return to the kitchen and get the food and bring it to the table so everyone could eat.

When she returned from the kitchen she noticed everyone was walking into the room giving them all smiles while setting the food down and turning to go get the rest. Once in the kitchen and was getting everything she sensed Miu behind her and looked over her shoulder at the younger girl, before raising an eyebrow and smiling.

"Um, I was wanting to help and thank you for finishing up the food I didn't mean to wonder like I did." Miu said while holding the end of her apron and looking down.

Kagome's smile got bigger, "It is alright Miu I didn't mind cooking at all and it gave me time to think." She said while picking the dishes up she looked over at Miu again when she came to stand beside her.

Miu leaned in close so anyone could hear her, "So how did your date go?" Miu asked while grinning a little bit and excitement in her eyes.

Kagome couldn't help but smile and leaned her head over to lean it against Miu's, "It was great Miu thank you I'll tell you everything later okay?" she asked while still smiling and thinking about Shougo.

"Okay, you gotta tell me everything later okay?" Miu asked while picking up the food and walking toward the door.

Kagome couldn't help but shake her head and smile while following the younger woman out of the room. Once all the food was placed and the tea brought out Kagome sat down and began eating when she looked up she noticed everyone was sitting there with their eyes closed and their chop sticks still in their mouths.

"Is everything alright with the food?" she asked worried that they didn't like the food, she was soon pulled out of her thoughts when she noticed that Kenichi was crying a little bit while shoving food into his mouth.

"It's so good!" he said in between bites of food.

"Kagome my dear when did you learn to cook like this?" Akisame asked her while looking down at his food and smiling.

"My girl you have a talent that is for sure." Hayato said while smiling at her and begin to eat again.

"Oh my gosh Kagome this is great you have got to teach me how to cook like this." Miu said while turning to look at Kagome like she was an idol.

"Kid I can honestly say I would be happy to eat anything you cook whenever you cook it." Sakaki said while eating almost as quickly as Kenichi.

"Apa, Apa it's so very good Gome! Apa!" Apachai said while eating and smiling.

"My dear I have never tasted food this wonderfully before." Kensei said while eating at a slower rate but still fast.

"It's very good." Shigure said while giving Kagome a small smile.

Kagome couldn't help but blush at all the praise she was getting, she knew her family loved her cooking and everyone in the past had well expect for Inuyasha but he had never been happy with anything she did.

Looking down, "Thank you very much I didn't do much I am just glad everyone liked it." She said while eating at a much slower pace than everyone else.

After thinking about it Kagome looked up and looked at Shigure, "Um Shigure I was wondering if after we are done eating if you mind sparing with me I would like to keep my skills up and it would be nice to have someone to spar with?" she asked and everyone stopped eating to look at her.

"Kagome you can fight with weapons? I know you fought against her with knives but you can use other weapons?" Akisame asked in shock at what he was hearing from her.

Giving her uncle a small smile she looked at him, "Actually yes Aki I know how to fight with many different weapons." She top him not really understanding why it come as a shock to him that she would know this.

Shigure thought about it and she couldn't help but agree with the girl she would like to have someone to spar with that knew how to use weapons, and after the other day she knew this girl could use them.

"I would enjoy that." Shigure answered already looking forwarded to the spar.

Kagome gave her a huge smile, "That's great I'll go to my room in a little bit and get my weapons. Now are you just wanting to use swords or do you want other weapons as well?" she asked already looking forward to getting all of her weapons off her bracelet and working with them.

"I think just swords today." Shigure said before going back to eating.

Kagome smiled already wanting to go to her room so she could remove her sword from her bracelet and start. Looking around she noticed everyone was looking at her funny and wondering why she couldn't help but ask.

"Is there something on my face?" she asked while getting ready to reach up and wide her face off. Once everyone shock their heads and went back to eating Kagome couldn't help but wonder what made everyone look at her like that, and why it seemed to shock them that she knew how to fight with weapons. Grant it, it had shocked her uncle when he found out she could fight but still she didn't understand why it seemed to really shock them.

Giving a shrug she went back to eating and couldn't help but wonder what Shougo was doing and wondered if he would be as shocked as everyone else if he knew she could fight hand to hand and with weapons.
