CH6
"BUG!"
Julia uncovered her head and noticed that Will was pointing in her direction. She sat up and froze. Luke cautiously walked over toward her hammock with a stick in his hand.
"Stop! Let me do it. I don't need you hurt." Exclaimed Levi.
Luke nodded and handed Levi the stick. He inched forward and managed to get the huge spider on the stick. He walked quickly out of the hut.
"What a wakeup call." Julia sighed running a hand through her hair.
Luke walked over to Julia and made sure that there weren't any more bugs in her hammock. When he finished shaking the covers out, went to go check his. Julia got up and walked over to him, then threw the blanket over his head. He laughed and turned around to face her but still had it over his head.
"Good morning to you too." He chuckled.
She laughed and took it off of his head. "This is your blanket by the way."
"That's why my feet were sticking out all night." He said handing her the smaller blanket that was on his hammock.
"Well…Angel wanted us to wear the clothes he provided for us." Levi said holding up the clothing.
Julia picked up her blue clothing and turned around. Everyone else had Black material. Once they were done getting dressed, she stood there looking at the material she held in her hands.
"Can someone hold up a blanket so that I can change?" She asked
Will stood up and grabbed his blanket then draped over her then held up another one so that she was shielded. When she was done, she walked out in the middle of the hut and looked down.
"This is very revealing…"
Everyone stopped to inspect their exotic clothing. Levi walked in the hut and tossed a ball at Will and then stopped, looking at Julia.
"Oh no." He said in an annoyed tone.
Julia looked at him with an eyebrow raised. "What?"
A few minutes later they walked over to Angel's hut. On the way there everyone they passed started clapping and cheering.
"Why is everyone so happy?" Julia asked.
"We are going to play…a game." Levi said hesitantly.
"The way you said it wasn't very convincing." She admitted
"You will understand me in just a moment."
They walked into a big stone structure that seemed to stand a mile high and saw lots of people sitting around the inside like an arena. Angel approached them and greeted the group.
"Good morning. Julia come with me. The rest of you, go meet your team over there and limber up."
Julia followed Angel to a group of young men on the other side of the arena. They were dressed in the same color as her.
"This is your team. You have played a similar game to this no? Your father told me all the time how good you were with a ball. Good Luck, and don't lose."
He walked away and a man of about twenty years of age approached her. He handed her a ball.
"(This game is almost like the one you used to play in the North.)" The man said to her.
She nodded confirming that she understood and her team ran out to take their places. She could see Levi, Will, Luke, and the other men ready to play. A boy came out and blew a horn. Everyone immediately ran to the middle to retrieve the ball. Levi reached the ball first and flicked the ball up in the air. One of Julia's teammates intercepted it and kicked it back to her. She trapped the ball with her chest and kicked it up to where the hoop was on the wall. When the ball bounced off the wall, one of her players headed it to another player and he kicked it through the hoop. Now that she knew the rules, she decided to get more involved in the game. When she started to feel tired, the boy blew the horn. Everyone went to take a break and drank some water. A few minutes later, everyone got set up again. Once the horn sounded, Julia bolted toward the ball and slid to hit is back to her players. When she stood back up, she felt something wet on her leg. Blood was dripping from her knee and ankle but she wiped it off and kept playing. When one of her players kicked the ball toward the hoop, she jumped and chested the ball through the hoop. At the same time, she jumped Luke jumped. They collided and hit the ground. They both laid there laughing. She got up and helped Luke get to his feet then ran off. Before they knew it, the final horn sounded signaling the end of the game. The crowd cheered and Angel came down from his seat. The two teams met in the middle and shook hands.
"Good Job! Well done!" Angel yelled out. He led Julia by the arm and led her to a ledge in the arena. "(The princess is victorious!)" He yelled with excitement raising his hands up in the air.
Everyone cheered and her team ran over to her and lifted her up on their shoulders. The other team walked over and got down on one knee. Levi motioned Julia to come closer to him.
"You have to do exactly what I say." He whispered. "You have to spare our lives."
"Spare your lives? What do you mean?" She whispered back.
"Just do it. Take us as your servants and Luke as your right hand."
She was so confused. Angel walked over and asked her how she wanted to dispose of the losers. She looked down at the group and then back up at Angel.
"I will spare their lives. In return, they will serve me. As for the one with the Dark hair, I will keep him as my right hand." She said with a slightly confused voice.
Angel nodded and turned to face the crowd. He lifted his hands once more and spoke. "(She has decided to take them as her servants. As for one of them, she has chosen a prince.)" Everyone cheered and shouted. "(Tonight there shall be a great celebration at the moon temple.)"
The crowd cheered and then left the arena. Everyone cleared out and went back to the shack. Every one circled up in the center with their arms crossed. Julia walked in and sat down on her hammock with a blank expression on her face.
"What the heck just happened?" She said peering up at the men in the middle of the room.
Oh no! What is going on? Things escalated quickly! I hope you guys know what game they are playing. I don't remember what it is called but the objective of the game is to get the small ball through the small rings on the wall without using their hands. I wanna know all of your comments! I'm so interested in what you think! Gah!
By the way the (….) parts are supposed to be someone speaking another language. I don't think I pointed that out in the last chapter sorry.
