Hey guys, I'm back! Sorry this story took so long to come to fruition. I've just graduated from high school and I spent all spring cramming for tests and making sure I had all my assignments handed in. Now, I'm just finishing an accounting course, and then I'll truly be free. My graduation ceremony was awesome, and I managed to experience about thirty minutes of the banquet before my ball gown felt like it was squeezing the life out of me. I even met a girl who runs an 'ask Romania' Hetalia blog on Tumblr. Don't know which one she is though. Yep, lots of fun.

4 – Darkness Falling Part 3 – 4

Soundwave? I quickly shot to my feet, and looked him up and down, my fight or flight response kicking in. With my 5 foot 7 height, I barely reached his ankle, and even though he was white, he was still pretty intimidating. There was something wrong, though. By the slouch of his shoulders, I had a feeling he was upset.

I took a step towards him, and he didn't move. I slowly began to inch towards him, and with every footstep I realized how huge he was. He was nearly as tall as Megatron, but thinner and ganglier. Faint scratches littered his frame, and pity somehow made itself known from the depths of my chest. Before I could stop it, my mouth had opened.

"A…are you okay?" I asked.

White Soundwave cocked his helm slightly to the side. His visor flickered again, and one word echoed out from it. "When?"

I blinked. "When?" I repeated

"Arrive?"

"Oh." I took a step back. "N…not that long ago," I told him.

Slowly, in tiny increments where his protoform seemed to screech loudly, he got down on one knee and leaned in close, as if to peer at me closely. My eyebrows creased in concern. He looked like he was in pain. Why was he out of med bay when he was still in so much pain?

Agent Fowler's voice barked from his speakers, making me jump in surprise. "Name?"

It took me only a second or so to get over the shock of Soundwave using Fowler's voice, and I pressed a hand to my chest. "M-my name is M-Mikaela Kodi."

Soundwave's head cocked to the side again slightly, as if he was analysing me. "You are?" I asked.

He blasted me with Starscream saying, "Sir," and then Megatron saying, "Soundwave."

It seemed it was taking a bit of effort to speak with recorded sound-bytes. I watched as a drop of, I guessed it was coolant, ran down the screen on his face. I gathered up the nerve to smile. "Sir Soundwave? Cool, you've been knighted." I paused for a couple of seconds. "Maybe you should give your voice a rest, so to speak," I told him gently. "You're nearly shaking from the effort."

He nodded, and then stood up. I let out a squeak of surprise when his long spindly fingers wrapped themselves around me and he picked me up. This time, I was hoisted up even farther from the ground, and I couldn't keep myself from looking down. My heart thundered in my chest the entire time Soundwave held me and took me away to wherever he was going. I was never going to get used to heights—never!

We eventually reached a room at the front of the ship that looked like an exact replicate of the bridge in the Transformers: Prime show. To my surprise, Soundwave lifted me up and placed me on his shoulder. My eyes stretched wide and I fought to keep myself from looking down. Curse my acrophobia, I've always wanted to sit on a Cybertronian's shoulder!

I forced myself to look up and away from the floor far below me. I cast my gaze around and spotted Megatron standing before the large viewscreen that completely covered the far wall. He was holding his servos behind his back as he gazed out the viewscreen. Off to his right, at a computer terminal, stood the thin form of Starscream, though, in this universe, he had white armor with red and black accents instead of the red and blue accents that he had had in the show. Looking down at his feet, I saw that he still sported stiletto-heeled pedes.

Starscream turned to look at Soundwave and I watched as he smiled. "Soundwave! Good to see you back on your pedes, my friend," the seeker said happily as he walked over to the mech I was sitting on.

And then he noticed me.

Since he was a bit shorter than Soundwave, he had to look up at me. It felt kind of weird having to look down at him, since he looked so huge in the show when you looked up at him from a human's point of view. Every time I blinked I expected his optics to switch from being blue to red, but they never did.

"Who is your little friend?" Starscream asked. It was going to take a while to get used to. Nice Starscream? It was just so unnatural.

Soundwave turned his head towards me a little bit. He seemed to stare at me from behind glass on his faceplates. He wanted me to answer the question, I could practically feel it.

Slowly, my shoulders slumped in defeat. I wasn't really in the mood to have to tell every mech I came across who I was, but I guess it was necessary. I waved shyly at the thin seeker, "I-I'm Mikaela Kodi."

Starscream smiled kindly and stretched out a long claw for me to shake. Hesitantly, I grasped the end, careful not to cut myself on its sharp tip, and shook it. "Nice to meet you, little one. I am so sorry that you got dragged into this," he said.

"I-it's okay, s-sir," I said. Darn it, was I always going to be stuttering around these bots? I wanted to sound as if I like I was calm around these beings, not like I was lacking confidence. I had a good excuse, though, if you thought about it. These were Decepticons, and I was used to them being evil and all that, and I was still trying to mentally tell myself that they were not going to jump out and kill me. It was definitely going to take a long time to get used to them being like this. "It was inevitable. I-I somehow got sucked i-into this universe—it was o-only a matter of time before I ran into a 'Bot or 'Con. At least I ran into you guys, a-and not the buh-buh-'Bots." My words stuttered to a halt and I bit my bottom lip as a blush came to my cheeks.

"Very fortunate, indeed," the intelligent seeker muttered.

Megatron quickly turned from the viewscreen and strode with a purpose towards the back of the bridge, where we three were standing. "A Dark Energon signature just came up on the scanners—I have a feeling that Prime is up to something," he said. Looking over at his Second in Command, he added, "Starscream, I would like it if you accompanied me to the co-ordinates Optimus Prime is at."

"Of course, sir," Starscream said with a nod. "Do you have any idea as to what he is up to?" he asked as they began to walk off towards, I could only guess, the GroundBridge control room.

"I have an inkling that it is something that it is something to with the Dark Energon Prime has with him," the titan answered before stopping and turning back to me and Soundwave. "Soundwave, take Mikaela to Knock Out. He has prepared one of the emergency soldier quarters for her."

Soundwave nodded. We watched Megatron and Starscream go until they were out of the room before Soundwave himself left the bridge and began to walk towards…well…wherever Knock Out was.

Knock Out was in the medbay, putting his various medical tools into the various places they belonged. I had a feeling we would find him here, since this was his domain. Soundwave kept me on his shoulder, and I called Knock Out's name, albeit rather shakily, in order to get his attention, since Soundwave was still resting his voice.

He turned from what he was doing and smiled at us. "Hello, you two," he greeted cheerfully.

I waved hesitantly. "Hi…" I said quietly. "Megatron sent us here because he says you've got human quarters available…?"

"Ah, yes," he said. He walked over to Soundwave and I. "Megatron sent me a comm." He held out a servo for me to step down onto.

I turned to look at Soundwave's visor as he glanced slightly at me. Patting the side of his helm, I said, "Thanks, Soundwave. I hope you feel better soon." I carefully allowed myself to slide down a bit of Soundwave's chest armor before I landed squarely on both feet on Knock Out's palm. I looked up at Soundwave in time to watch him nod before he turned and left the medbay. I watched him go before Knock Out took me to an empty corner of the medbay, where I spotted several small, human-sized doors lining the bottom of the wall. The blue mech carefully lowered himself to his knees and lowered his servo to the floor. I quickly stepped off and onto the floor.

Turning to look up at Knock Out, I watched as he pointed to one of the doors. "Megatron wishes for you to stay on the Nemesis now that the Autobots think you're on our side," he said. "It's plain, understandably, but you will be able to accessorise it to your preference over time. I believe Megatron will allow that."

I smiled up at the medic. I was starting to feel more at ease around him, which was a good sign. I thought I was never going to get used to being in the presence of a Cybertronian. I guess all it took was time.

"As long as Agent Fowler doesn't discover that I'm here, I think everything will turn out fine," I said. "I'll get used to this eventually."

"That's good to hear," he said with a wink. Ah, there was some of the normal Knock Out sass I was used to from my universe. "Now, go on, scout it out. I'll be right in the medbay."

Excitement suddenly started to bubble up inside me as I turned and opened the door the Decepticon had placed me in front of. Stepping inside, I allowed the door to swing shut behind me as I searched for a light-switch along the wall. I eventually found it and flipped it on.

Soft light flooded the room, allowing me to spot the twin-sized bed that sat, tucking in the far left corner and was stretched across the back wall, the desk that was squashed between the floorboard of the bed and the right-side wall. There was a plain metal side table sitting next to the head of the bed and that was it. It was plain, and very grey, but it served a purpose and I would get used to it. Eventually.

Sitting down on the bed, I prodded the mattress with my hands, feeling how firm it was. It was firm, but slightly soft too. I liked firm beds because soft beds made me feel like I was being swallowed up by the mattress. The bed would do well. Taking one more glance around the room, I got to my feet and walked out of my new room.

Sure, I missed my old room, and the family I used to know. But I was going to have to get used to this now in order to survive mentally.

When I stepped outside, I saw that Knock Out was gone, and, instead, Breakdown was there. He was sloppily looking through the cupboards for something, undoing all the work Knock Out had done to make the medbay look clean and tidy and efficient. What is he looking for? I wondered.

"H…hey, Breakdown!" I called.

The heavily 'muscled' mech stopped what he was doing and looked down at me with his yellow optics. "Hey, little femme!" he said with a grin. After a pause, he added, "I don't think I caught your name."

I smiled shyly. "My name's…Mikaela," I replied. Clearing my throat, I managed to ask, "What're you looking for?"

"Oh, Knock Out needs something with a name I don't recognise. I'll find it eventually."

A small beep drew my attention up to a catwalk lining the far wall. There was a human-sized door at one of the ends of the catwalk, the end leading to the wall I knew separated the medbay from the hall, and there was a little light flashing above it. I saw Breakdown look up at the door, and when his optics widened in alarm, I got the feeling I didn't want to meet what was on the other side of the door. But I asked anyway, "What does that mean?"

"It means someone is walking down the catwalk outside, and is going to enter the medbay any second now. It keeps Knock Out from being surprised and screwing a surgery up if someone was to approach the medbay. He can lock down the Cybertronian access door, but not the human one," Breakdown explained.

I had a sneaking suspicion of who was coming. Agent Fowler.

I uttered a small, tension-filled "'Kay."

In the show, Fowler came down the elevator and the kids chose to hide behind Bulkhead's pede. When Breakdown told me to hide, I dove behind the closes object that was guaranteed to hide all of me. And that was one of the thick legs holding up the medical berth sitting in the middle of the medbay.

If I didn't move even a fraction of an inch, he wouldn't notice me.

The whoosh of a sliding metal door inadvertently caused me to hold my breath. "Megatron!" Fowler bellowed.

"Megatron isn't here, squishy," Breakdown grunted. "He's out on a mission." Out of the corner of my eye, I watched as the Decepticon went back to searching for whatever he was searching for.

"Great!" Fowler growled "What is he doing now? Oh, I know! He's out pancaking a mini-mall!"

At that tone, all I wanted Breakdown to do was to say 'Shut up, Fowler!' or for Megatron to come storming in to silence him himself. I never really liked Fowler when I began to watch the show, and I didn't like him until the end of the first season to the beginning of the second season. It would take me almost just as long to like him now that he was 'real'.

Breakdown's engine snarled. "Even though Megatron says we have to be nice to you, it doesn't mean I have to like you."

"Likewise," Fowler harrumphed.

I was struggling to keep my breathing silent now—not because I was ticked off with how humans could be so insensitive, but because I was starting to feel slightly lightheaded. I wasn't sucking in enough oxygen with the way I was keeping myself so quiet. I had never fainted before, but I was feeling pretty close to doing so.

"Wait," Fowler suddenly said. My heart jumped to my throat at how quiet he had become. "When did you bots start collecting human backpacks?"

So that's where my backpack had gone. Knock Out must have taken it and left it on a counter. I felt like I was going into cardiac arrest when it sank in that Fowler had seen it.

"Uh…" was all that Breakdown managed to say.

Well. It looks like I'm going to have to come to Breakdown's rescue. Megatron's not going to be happy to find out that I allowed Fowler to find out I'm here… Taking a deep breath, I forced myself to walk out from behind the berth leg and walk out into the open. Half of me wanted to stay hidden.

"H-hi," I managed to stutter out with a weak wave as soon as Fowler spotted me. And then, "How are you?"

"Contact with a civilian!" the black man exclaimed angrily. I watched as Fowler stormed off towards a spiral staircase that lead down to the floor. The slightly overweight man moved faster than I expected and was storming towards me at a steady pace. I tensed up, and my heart felt like it was turning to ice as he got closer and closer. "You're coming with me, young lady. You're going to be placed under federal protection."

Suddenly, a large blue pede slammed down in front of me, effectively separating me from the Special Agent and causing the floor to shake violently. A startled shriek escaped me at how close the pede was and how easily it could have crushed me.

"We're taking care of her," Breakdown practically snarled.

The flash of terror I spotted on Fowler's face was almost comical, but my heart was still hammering in my chest. In the show, Bulkhead had been firm, but not vicious. I had hoped that Breakdown would also be firm, but I guess, since he is a Decepticon, he would be vicious. But this was the mirror universe of Transformers: Prime, weren't they supposed to be not vicious?

"Go back into your room, Mikaela," Breakdown ordered firmly. He reached over and picked something before lowering it down to me. My backpack. I took it quietly and shot Fowler a blank look before I turned and disappeared into my new 'room'. The last thing I heard before the door closed behind me was "I'm going to talk to my superiors!" from Fowler.

Glacio Fajro: Thanks! I will!

EchoRaptor: Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it so much!

roxie2120: Glad you liked their meeting. Mikaela has big boots to fill since she's basically filling the roles of three people, since SG Jack, Miko, and Raf won't be appearing until later :D

Spacelady2012: The kids won't be appearing until later, and will be sporting major personality changes since this is a mirror universe.

AngelWolf1994: Well, Starscream is here, and currently off on a mission with Megatron. How did you like him?

Dream'sRealm: I'm glad you're enjoying this story and I hope to keep it consistant. I've planned how the 'Cons will act, sort of, so they won't sound like they have Autobot personalities. Thanks for the review and I hope you enjoy the chapters to come!

Autobot-Fangirl0203: Glad you like it. Yeah, these types of fanfictions are really rare, I don't know why, though.
