Cory and Topanga moved back to the couch and sat down. Riley followed them, leaning on her dad's shoulder.

"So what happened with Maya?" Cory asked.

"She told me that she talked to her mom, and she basically got her mom to admit she likes Shawn!"

"Wow," Cory said in amazement. "We actually pulled it off. They're on a date right now, aren't they?"

"Yep!" Riley said. "Well, a date with Maya."

"Still counts," Topanga added.

"You're right," Riley said. "We both accomplished our missions. We've done all we can to get Shawn to be Katy's husband and Maya's dad. They're all bonding right now. Hopefully they'll all hit it off and do it again sometime."

Topanga started laughing then.

"What's so funny?" Cory asked.

"You guys are," she said, chuckling. "Riley, you're such a little schemer."

"She gets it from me," Cory said, beaming with pride.

"I know she does," Topanga said, pecking his cheek.

"Ugh," Riley said, watching her parents.

"Riley, you have to realize that we're going to be affectionate with each other," Topanga said. "We're married."

"Yeah, but sometimes I just feel like you're so caught up in your own little world that you forget there's a universe of everyone else out here," Riley said.

"Well, we're always going to be in our own little world," Cory said. "That's the only way a marriage can last. But we don't forget about everyone else. I hope you don't really believe that we forget about you," he said seriously.

"I guess I don't. I just feel like you only pay attention to each other sometimes. Like why didn't we discuss you guys having another baby?" Riley said quietly, looking up at her mother. "I don't think that's exactly going to help anything."

"Riley, we did discuss this a little bit ago," Topanga said. "We did not plan for this baby, so there's no way we could have discussed it beforehand. I thought you understood that."

"I do," Riley said, frustrated. "It's just…why can't you guys leave each other alone for five minutes? Then maybe we wouldn't be in this mess with a new baby!" she said, standing up and walking toward the hallway.

"Riley, that's enough!" Cory scolded her. "Come back here!"

Riley stopped and slowly turned around. "What?"

"That was completely disrespectful and I won't allow you to talk to us like that!" he said, standing up.

Riley sighed and Cory could see the regret in her face.

"I'm sorry, Dad," she said. "I'm sorry, Mom."

Topanga stood and went over to her daughter. "Honey, I understand that you're frustrated, okay? Can I tell you something?"

Riley nodded.

"I had some of those same thoughts when I found out," Topanga said. "I was worried that everyone would hate it and that it would be a disaster. I was afraid that your dad would just get stressed out and not be truly happy about it." Topanga looked over at Cory, who was watching her with a small smile.

She smiled back at him. "But then I told myself that there's a reason for everything. And your dad told me that it's okay and that he's happy about it and told me not to worry. And this baby is going to bring us a lot of good times together as a family. He or she will bring us closer. I'm going to be off of work for a while, which means I'll have more time to do stuff with you guys, too. Don't worry," she told her daughter.

Riley looked up at her mother and said, "I know, everything will be okay. I guess I'm just a little worried. I don't want anything to change."

Topanga laughed again and looked back at her husband.

"Daddy's little girl," she said.

"What?" Riley asked, confused.

"Your dad absolutely hates change. He'd freak out over the neighbor's cousin going to college," she said laughing. Riley laughed with her.

Cory's face scrunched up at his wife's words, and he slouched down on the couch.

"We can all stick together and get through it, though. We always do," Topanga said.

Riley offered a small smile at her mom and said, "Okay. I'm sorry I freaked out."

"Don't worry about it. I freaked out a little too. We all do it. Now come sit down with us," Topanga said, leading her to the couch.

Topanga sat to Cory's right and Riley sat to Cory's left. He put his arms around the two girls and pulled them closer. Riley leaned her head on Cory, and Topanga wrapped her arms around his waist. Cory kissed the top of Riley's head and Riley smiled in response. Then he turned to Topanga. She looked up at him and smiled. He kissed her forehead and his lips lingered there. Then Topanga grabbed the TV remote and turned it on.

They sat together and watched TV for a little while until Angela and Auggie came out of the hallway.

"Hey, guys," Angela said.

"Hey," Topanga said, looking up at her.

"Where's everyone else?"

Topanga looked at Cory, unsure of what to say.

Cory nodded a small nod and then looked at Angela and said, "Shawn took Katy and Maya out."

"Oh," Angela said.

"I hope you're okay with it," Cory said. "I don't know if you…well I didn't know if you had any objection."

"Why would I?" Angela asked. "Cory, we broke up years ago. I'm completely fine," she said, though her eyes somewhat hinted otherwise. Topanga noticed this, but didn't say anything in front of everyone else.

"Okay," Cory said.

"When did they leave?" Angela asked.

"About an hour ago," Topanga said.

"Oh," Angela said.

"Angela is great at playing zombies!" Auggie exclaimed.

Everyone laughed.

"That's great, honey," Topanga said.

Angela smiled down at Auggie and said, "Yeah, this little guy is quite imaginative. We played dragons, knights, zombies, pirates, you name it."

Auggie grinned at Angela and ran to the couch to bounce onto his father's lap.

Then Topanga stood up. "Hey, Angela, can I talk to you for a second? Just over there," she said, nodding toward the kitchen.

"Okay," Angela said.

They walked over and then Topanga whispered, "You still have feelings for him."
"No, Topanga. No, I don't."

"I saw it on your face!"

"I just feel a little awkward about it, that's all. I just haven't ever seen him go out with anybody else when we were actually broken up. For real, I mean."

"Uh, huh," Topanga said, not believing her.

"Really, Topanga. I'm okay. I haven't gone out with Shawn in years. I got married for goodness sake! It's just weird. I'll get used to it. It's healthy to move on."

Topanga smiled at her. "You've got a lot of courage."

"Thank you, sweetie," Angela replied. "Don't worry about me. I'm over Shawn. Please don't make a big deal out of it. I am fine if Shawn wants to go out with Katy. She's great and she really deserves to have a good guy."

"Yeah, she does. And Maya deserves to have a father."

"Yes, she does. And I'm glad that Shawn has a good relationship with Maya, because they really have a lot in common. They all do. I hope everything goes well tonight," Angela said.

Topanga hugged Angela and said, "Me too. I'm glad you're okay with this, Angela. I wouldn't want you to be upset."

"Thank you for checking, Topanga. And how are you doing with this whole baby thing?"
"Oh, I'm fine," Topanga said. "I was a little scared, but Cory told me it's all going to be alright, and I know he's right," she said with a smile.

Angela smiled back. "He is right. Everything's going to be great for you guys."
"Thanks, Angela." She led her back to the couch and they sat down. They sat there for a little bit and then Shawn walked in the door.

"Hey, guys," he said. Katy and Maya followed him in the door. Riley sat up quickly as soon as she saw Maya.

"Hey, Shawnie," Cory said. He would have stood, but Auggie had fallen asleep on his lap.

Maya grinned at Riley, meaning the evening must have gone well. Katy had a smile stuck on her face; there was nothing she could do to make it go away. She looked so completely relaxed and happy that Riley knew something great must have happened.

Maya walked quickly over to Riley and then nodded toward the hallway. Riley jumped up and ran into the hallway to hear about what happened.

"So what did you guys do?" Topanga asked.

"Well, we went out for a little dessert, and then we took a walk around for a while," Shawn said.

"We mostly just talked and got to know each other better," Katy said.

"That sounds nice," Cory said.

"Well, it's getting late," Katy said. "I think Maya and I'd better go. Did she run off with Riley again?" she asked, laughing.

Everyone could see that Katy was in a great mood and obviously enjoyed her time with Shawn.

"Yeah, I'll go put this guy to bed," Topanga said, patting Auggie's foot, "and I'll get Maya for you."

"Thanks," Katy said with a smile.

Topanga lifted Auggie up and carried him to his room.

Angela finally stood and said, "I'm glad you guys had fun. It's nice to get out once in a while."

"Yeah, it is," Katy said. Then Katy walked over to Angela. She gave her a hug.

Angela did not expect it, but she hugged Katy back anyway.

"What's that for?" Angela asked with a smile.

"Thank you for being okay with this," Katy whispered.

Angela smiled back at her. "Of course."

Shawn watched the two ladies interact and smiled. He was glad that they became at least acquaintances.

Then Topanga returned with Maya and Riley and Maya went to her mother.

"Ready, sweetie?" Katy asked.

"Yep," Maya said, smiling.

"Alright." Katy gave Topanga, Angela, and Riley hugs. Then she told Cory happy birthday and gave him a hug.

She turned around and Shawn was standing there with a smile.

"Good night, Katy," he said. He leaned over and kissed her cheek.

Katy glowed with happiness and said, "Good night."

"Good night, Maya," Shawn said.

"Night, Hunter."

Katy and Maya walked out the door.

Okay, that was a pretty long chapter, but there was a LOT going on! I hope you enjoyed it! Please review! :)
