Bulma and Gohan were hovering near the two Saiyans not long after Y-17 had left. It was a sight to see. Goku frozen in place and Vegeta on the ground beaten so badly that he couldn't move. Gohan touched down and Bulma did as well. Bulma ran to Vegeta crying. Her man has unable to walk and for once, Vegeta was crying in pain. Vegeta was unable to hide it. His legs had been crushed and his pride was crushed at the same time.
While they were having their time, Gohan was frightened by the look on his dad's face. His dad stood still, but was slightly shaken. His muscles wouldn't move. His face showed fear. Gohan has never seen his dad so fear-filled. Bulma put Vegeta in her ship and found Lunch crying over a body. Bulma went to take a look, but the body disappeared before she could see it. Bulma then knew who it was and went to comfort Lunch.
"Don't worry. King Kai is taking good care of Tien." Bulma said. Lunch put her head on Bulma's shoulder and began to cry even louder. Bulma has had to deal with Vegeta dying so she knows how she feels.
Meanwhile, Y-17 arrived at the lab to make a report to the doctor. The facility was disguised and Y-17 pressed a button and the metal door opened quickly and when Y-17 walked in the lab, it shut just as quick. Y-17 picked up the photos that and grabbed a marker. It put a giant 'X' over the pictures of Chiaotzu and Tien. The doctor walks by the opening of the area and realizes that Y-17 is back. He lets Y-17 be until it finishes the report. The doctor moved to his observing facility to make sure Y-17 wasn't followed. He finds nothing and walks back to find Y-17 done with its report.
Y-17 motions the doctor to come over to him to give the report. It shows the doctor the pictures of Tien and Chiaotzu with the 'X' on them. The doctor jumped with glee. He was excited that his creation could compete with warriors of that powerful of a caliber. Y-17 then held up the picture that was of Vegeta and crossed out his legs. The doctor was so astonished that his jaw almost hit the floor.
"Did you tear off his legs?" the doctor asked with curiosity. Y-17 shook its head no. The doctor thought for a bit. What else could Y-17 mean by that? There are many things it could do to the legs of a person.
"Did you shatter them?" he asked with a smile. Y-17 nodded and the doctor became even happier.
"Excellent! Y-17! You have exceeded my expectations greatly!" The doctor said. "I'll let you pick your next targets, but be careful. You picked some of the easiest targets. You'll go after your targets tomorrow" Y-17 looked at the pictures.
Meanwhile, Gohan lifted his frozen dad and placed him in Bulma's ship next to the crippled Vegeta and heartbroken Lunch. Gohan examined the situation and noticed his dad had no damage done to him, but Vegeta had shattered legs and Tien was obviously dead. Gohan thought that the opponent tore into Vegeta after killing Tien and it gave his dad to much of a shock, but that didn't make sense. His dad usually gets angry and doesn't have his mind blown like that. Gohan's brain started to hurt, so he left it alone. Bulma drove the ship to her house and laid Goku in a bed and Vegeta in theirs. Bulma went to the door to leave.
"Wait woman." He said. Bulma stopped and Vegeta continued. "I did it again. I let my pride get ahead of me. You may go now." Bulma kissed Vegeta and headed to the kitchen to fix something for dinner. She got her apron on and right then and there, the doorbell rang. Bulma came to the door not knowing who it was until she heard Chi Chi yelling from outside. She answered the door and Chi Chi stopped yelling at Gohan.
Bulma never really liked the way she treated Gohan all the time. Chi Chi always yelled at him because he is defiling her dream of what she wants Gohan to be. He's a good kid and wants to do more than sit in his room studying all day. Bulma thinks it's wonderful he got to do something with his dad even if it is fighting. Bulma is great friends with Chi Chi and doesn't want to ruin it though. Plus she was in no mood to get in a fight with her.
"Where's Goku?" Chi Chi asked with much concern.
"He's in the guest bedroom." Bulma replied. Krillin was with them. Krillin hands Bulma a senzu bean.
"I heard Vegeta got really banged up. This is a gift from me to him." He said. Bulma smiled and took the bean to Vegeta.
Bulma opened the door to where Vegeta was and Vegeta was facing away from the door.
"Honey. Krillin brought a present for you." Bulma said
"I don't want it." Vegeta grumbled
"Fine. Guess I'll take this senzu bean to Goku." Bulma said with a smile.
"Wait." Vegeta said. He moved to face her direction and almost cried from the pain. "Please give me the bean."
Bulma threw it to Vegeta and he ate it. Immediately, his legs were healed and he could get back on his feet again. He smiled and walked out the door with Bulma.
"I see you're all fixed up now. That's great!" Krillin said, but Vegeta kept walking. He walked out of the house and flew away. Vegeta intended to find where this threat that crippled him for a while flew off to.
He went back to the site that it happened; the place where the murder of two people took place. He replayed the battle to the best of his ability and flew off to where he thought the thing went.
Meanwhile, the doctor was having a nice time watching the stars through his telescope until it went black on the lens and then went back to his sky view, but it showed a man. The doctor looked closer and realized it was Vegeta. The telescope was disguised and small enough that he wouldn't find it, but it still spooked him out. He hopped off his chair and went to an elevator that led to Y-17's room.
"Did you lie to me when you said you took out Vegeta's legs?" the doctor asked. Y-17 shook its head no. "Then what happened?"
Y-17 closed part of its hand and made a motion that made it look like it was eating.
"He ate something?" The doctor asked surprised. "Like what?" Y-17 opened up a book and pointed at a picture in the book.
"A bean?! He ate a bean?!" the doctor said in surprise. "Wait. If I remember correctly, they call those things 'senzu beans'. I must research more."
Y-17 was then able to rest when the doctor left. It was thinking about its targets. Vegeta was now higher on the list and it already ripped up the picture of Yamcha thinking nothing of him.
Then it was easily decided. When morning hit. It will be Vegeta. Vegeta won't know what hit him.
