Chapter 1 How It All Started
Okay so this is my new story New To Me, Old To You and I hope you enjoy reading it! This will be entirely different from A&A which I do not own. I own the characters I create though along with the plot :) Review pleaseeee!
So I sat there at the coffee shop waiting to get my espresso with my best friend Trish. She was going on and on about this guy she had been seeing, Ben I think? I was too absorbed into this book, Divergent, to pay full attention to her. (Veronica Roth owns Divergent unfortunately but I love it)
"Ally? Earth to Ally are you listening?" she asked snapping at me.
"Sorry I'm in love with this book." I replied laughing slightly.
"I see, when are you gonna fall in love with a guy? You know, a real one?" she teased leaning forward.
"Oh come on this is as real as they get. Guys don't know how to treat girls these days. I wish I had my own Four..." I sighed looking down.
"That's it, I'm gonna hook you up with a sweet hunk who's funny and perfect for you." she decided.
"Good luck finding someone to put up with me." I laughed going back to my back.
"Hello ladies, my name is Austin and I'll be your, erm, waiter I guess. Did you gals want anything to eat?" I looked up seeing a blonde smiling at me.
"I'll take a piece of cheesecake." I replied.
"Alright, and you?" he turned to Trish.
"I'll have the grill cheese."
"Grill cheese and cheesecake, apparently cheese is the special today." he said smiling.
"Alright I'll be back with your order." he nodded and walked away.
"Oh my god Ally isn't he adorable? He has the lost puppy dog eye look just dying to find a girl like yourself!" Trish exclaimed once he was out of ear shot.
"Oh please he's just being polite and making eye contact with customers. Nothing more than that." I replied rolling my eyes. After convincing Trish I'll find love on my own terms Austin came back with our foods.
"Thanks!" I replied excited to dig into my cheesecake.
"You're welcome, if you guys need anything else I'll be at the counter." he told us before leaving.
"Oh my gosh come on Ally! He couldn't take his eyes off of you!" Trish whispered very loudly.
"You know what? I'll go clear this up right now." I said standing up very boldly and walking to the counter.
"Hi, Austin is it?" I began once I found the blonde.
"Yes, how can I help you?" he asked.
"Funny you ask that, my friend over there has the idea that you have been giving me the googly eyes but I came to the counter here now to prove her wrong." I explained. He laughed and looked at me.
"Well, I won't lie I have been erm, kinda looking at you but not with googly eyes." he replied. I felt my cheeks heat up and stuttered for a response.
"W-Why?"
"Well, because you're cute. Listen my shift ends around 6 if you wanna stick around and we can go take a walk or something?" he asked.
"Umm, sure. I'm Ally by the way." I agreed feeling my heart skip. Did a guy really just ask me out? Can someone pinch me I think I'm dreaming.
"Nice to meet you Ally, I'll swing by your table when I'm off alright?" he double checked.
"Okay. See you then." I turned with a large smile and walked away. Good one Dawson, now don't scare this one away.
"Soo how did it go?" Trish asked.
"Well, um, he asked me to see him after he gets off." I replied. Trish squealed and I begged her to be quiet in case he'd look over here.
"Ally Dawson going on a date? Oh my god I gotta tell the world!" she cried happily.
"Or not! I don't know what's going to happen so please keep this between you and I?" I begged. She sighed smiling at me.
"Fine! But I'm gonna leave cuz it's 5:55 and he'll be here in no time." she said winking at me.
"No don't leave!" but she was already up and out of the door. I took a minute to make sure I was presentable. I had minty fresh breath, my brown waves were relaxed and on point, I also had a minimum amount of make up on but I liked my face like that. Hopefully he does too!
"Hey Ally, ready to go?" I look over seeing Austin in some blue jeans, red shirt and black leather jacket.
God he's cute.
"Sure." I smiled getting up as he took my arm in his. We walked down the street and to the bridge where I liked to sit sometimes at night. He actually thinks I'm funny! I made him laugh a few times telling him the story of how I met Trish in kindergarten. He told me about his best friend Dez and how eccentric he is. Sounds like a cool dude.
"So Ally, why did you agree to come with me?" Austin spoke up.
"Well, I don't know something about you just seemed...Interesting." I confessed. He was staring at me and I felt myself start to blush.
"Why did you ask me?" he smiled and squeezed my hand.
"This is going to sound like I'm a stalker but I don't care. I've seen you come in a few times, Cassidy said you and Trish are regulars. I always thought you had this adorable auroa about you but I never had the courage to talk to you. So finally I get the chance to get your table but I had no idea what to say. When you came over to the counter it was a total surprise to me, I was sure a girl like you had a boyfriend." he explained.
"Nah, I tried that once...Didn't work out so well." I said kicking my feet aimlessly.
"Well he's blind then to let go of a girl like you." Austin replied. I turned to him meeting his chocolate brown eyes. He smiled at me and I couldn't help but return the contagious smile. I laid on his shoulder feeling a bit chilly and he wrapped his arm around me. Afterwards he waked me home and we exchanged numbers. We texted the rest of that evening when I wasn't telling Trish the details. It went a bit like this.
So Ally what do you like to do for fun? :)
Probably read, play music, dance like a dork x3
I got some good dance moves if you'll let me show you sometime? :D
Good luck I am hopeless
I'm a miracle worker no worries
If you say so :)
Good night Ally, I'm glad I finally got the nerve to hang out with you :3
Good night Austin, I'm glad you did too Cx
I sighed laying on my bed smiling to myself as I fell asleep.
