Percy's point of view:
Narcissa and I apparated into my parents' yard, holding hands. I swallowed, secretly hoping that Narcissa liked my parents' house. I wasn't ashamed of it anymore, but I wanted Narcissa to get along with my parents and not look down on them because of the house. Glancing out of the corner of my eye, Narcissa's eyes ran over the Burrow as we approached it. Before I could say anything, Mum opened the door, wearing a smile on her face.
"Hello," she said kindly.
"Mum, this is Narcissa. Narcissa this is, Mum, Molly," I said as they shook hands.
"It's nice to meet you officially," Narcissa said, earning a wide smile from Mum.
"You as well," Mum replied. "I've heard nothing but good things from Percy and Arthur."
"Percy is always saying kind things about you and Arthur as well" Narcissa said, making Mum beam at me.
"Such a sweet boy," Mum said. "Well, come on in. Arthur should be here any moment. He had some unexpected business to finish today, and I have some tea ready."
Holding the door open for Mum and Narcissa, both women entered and walked to the table.
"Narcissa, you sit right here, and I'll take that cake from you," Mum said, gesturing to a spot at the table, and Narcissa sat in the chair as Mum bustled around her, waving her wand so that the tea pot rose in the air and poured tea into her cup and then mine.
"How is work going?" Mum asked Narcissa as the tea pot moved to Mum's cup. Waving her wand, a bowl of bread flew in front of us. I couldn't help but grab a roll.
"It's going well," Narcissa replied. "I'm hoping to do more work with Muggles with wizard children.
"Arthur goes on about that meeting you had with the parents," Mum said, finally pulling up her chair and directing the tea pot to the stove with her wand.
"Still," I said under my breath.
"It was a wonderful experience," Narcissa said, and I watched her eyes light up. "I'm brainstorming more classes and demonstrations for the parents, and I'm hoping to get another large gathering with the parents, but this time they students can show their parents what they've learned."
"Arthur said that you've involved him as well," Mum said. "He's been very eager to work with you."
"He's been a great help, and has a lot of ideas of moving forward with our plans," Narcissa said as I took her hand under the table. Narcissa smiled at me briefly before engaging Mum in conversation.
I swallowed as I watched her interact with Mum. The talked as if they were old friends, and Mum smiled at my girlfriend, a sign that she loved her. Narcissa was perfect, and I felt glad that we had an opportunity to meet and start to fall in love. I swallowed as the realization hit me. I knew then that I would spend the rest of my life with the woman by my side.
By the time Dad got home, Mum had dinner ready, and I stood to help Mum set the table. As we tucked into the food, and the food was so good, we ate in silence. I shoveled food into my mouth, enjoying Mum's home cooked food.
Once done, we moved to the living room where we sipped Mum's hot chocolate while Narcissa sat next to me. She sighed and cuddled into my side as I put my arm around her. She gave me a brief smile as she put her hand on my knee before discussing her work project with Dad.
"Yes, I think we'll be ready by then," Narcissa said. "I need to pitch the idea to my boss, but I'm sure I won't have any trouble getting things approved again. I'll owl you once I know more."
"It sounds like a good idea," Dad replied. "I'd be surprised if it falls through."
"So would I," Narcissa admitted. "We've had a lot of great feedback from everything."
"Is everyone ready for cake?" Mum asked.
"How about I serve it, Molly," Narcissa said, standing.
"I'll help you," Dad said, standing just as Mum opened her mouth in protest. "You cooked an excellent dinner, darling, so take a break."
"Alright, dear." Mum smiled up at Dad as he led Narcissa into the kitchen.
As soon as the door closed behind them, Mum said, "I really like her, Percy."
"I was hoping you would," I admitted.
"So much better than that Penny girl," Mum said, scowling.
"Do you mean Penelope?" I asked.
"Yes, her," Mum said. "Narcissa and you seem to be so compatible, and she's smart and is so easy to talk to."
"Thank you, mum. I care for her very much," I said.
"I knew you did with just how you look at her. She's one lucky woman," Mum said, smiling at me. "Make sure you don't let go of this one."
I blushed as Narcissa and Dad came into the room, both carrying a piece of cake in each hand. Narcissa handed me my cake and sat next to me.
"Arthur just showed me a picture of Victoria," Narcissa said. "She's beautiful."
"Yes, the beautiful girl. Bill's going to have his hands full when she starts to date," Mum said.
"I can only imagine," Narcissa said, smiling.
"This cake is delicious, Narcissa. You'll have to give me a recipe," Mum said.
"I'll owl it to you once I get home. I've found a lot of recipes through the Muggle library," Narcissa explained.
At the mention of Muggle library, Dad asked Narcissa a million questions about using the computer at the library. Once Dad was done grilling my girlfriend about the use of the computers, I took Narcissa home.
"Would you care for a walk?" I asked. "I could use some time alone with you."
"I could as well."
Narcissa and I intertwined our hands as we walked down the small streets of Hogsmeade.
"Your parents are really sweet," Narcissa said.
"My mum loved you," I replied quietly. "Better than my previous girlfriend."
"I'd hope so," Narcissa said tartly. "She wasn't the right woman for you."
"No," I whispered to her. "I found an even better, more beautiful woman."
I stopped and kissed her soundly as she threaded her fingers through my hair. Over the next few weeks, Narcissa and I spend much of our free time together, most of the time at her cottage. Sometimes our time would be shared between the two of us, and other times, we'd meet with our family members. I loved every minute of it. She'd become my best friend, and I told her many things I hadn't told anyone else.
Three weeks later:
Holding Narcissa's hand, we followed Bill, Fleur, and baby Victoria. Up ahead, I could see Harry, Ron, Hermione, and a nervous looking Draco sit in the seats Ginny had gotten for us. Draco sat several seats away, being ignored by Harry and Ron, but Hermione engaged him in conversation, which I was grateful for. I hoped to make a family with Narcissa one day, and Draco was an important part of that dream.
By the time we sat down, I sat between Narcissa and Draco while Fleur on the other side of Narcissa. I took Narcissa's hand as Fleur engaged my girlfriend in conversation, making me smile. By the time the game started, Billy switched places with Hermione, allowing her to talk with Fleur and Narcissa.
"How's work going, Draco?" I asked.
"It's going," Draco replied, not taking his eye off the game. "I've been super busy since I've started Healing training."
"Narcissa says you're enjoying it," I commented.
"I love it," Draco said quiet enough that only I could hear. "I wanted to go into this after war. I want to help people."
"Your mother and I are proud of you," I said quietly.
"Thank you, Percy," Draco replied.
Glancing to my left, I saw Fleur hand Victoria over to Narcissa.
"Oh, the precious, sleeping dear," Narcissa cooed down at my niece. "Can't believe she's sleeping with all of this noise."
"She slept when we listened to the last match at Arthur and Molly's house," Hermione commented. "There was a lot of cheering and yelling, and she didn't wake up once."
"We got lucky that way," Bill said from behind us, his eyes too weren't leaving the game.
My eyes watched Narcissa smile down at the baby, and in the back of my mind, I imagined her holding our red-headed children.
