Chapter 9- Throwdown (Pillar)
(Third Person POV)
"You may leave them now, Athena." Kratos told them wisdom goddess sternly. He was ready to get started with training the demigods. After all, he did want to see how strong this worlds strongest demigods were. He had high hopes that they would be significantly more powerful than they looked.
"Of course, Spartan." Athena responded before turning to the heroes. "Give this training your all. I do not have to tell you how important this training is. I expect you all to take it seriously. Now, I leave you all in Kratos' capable hands."
Turning and nodding in Kratos' direction, Athena turned on her heel and made her way out of the Fallen Gods' home. As soon as she disappeared inside his home, Kratos returned his attention to the demigods gathered in front of him. Over all he wasn't very impressed. If the Olympians wanted them to take on the army of the Titans he had a lot of work to do.
"So, I am sure you are all anxious to get started with training to kill the Titans. Well, let's get started. In order for me to get a feel for your power and fighting ability, I want all of you to come at me with everything you have." Kratos stated lazily drawing the Blades of Exile. "Let's begin."
The demigods looked stunned for a second, before Percy spoke up, "Are you serious?"
"Of course," Kratos scowled, "Now draw your weapons, before I start this fight regardless if you have a weapon out or not."
Not wasting a second Percy drew and uncapped Riptide, as Thalia drew her spear and her shield Aegis spiraled to life on her arm, and Nico's Stygian iron sword emerged from a shadow and flew into his hand.
Percy attempted to lung forward and slash the fallen god across his crest but faster than his eyes could follow, Kratos parried the strike with the Blade in his left hand and Spartan kicked Percy in the chest with his left leg, sending him flying across the clearing. While, Kratos was kicking Percy, Nico used it as a distraction to get close to the Spartan and slash at his right knee. Before the son of hades even noticed, Kratos hopped over his blade and smacked him in the side of the head with the hilt of the blade in his right hand, making Nico crumple to the ground with a grunt.
Thalia's eyes widened. In the span of seconds, the fallen god had took down both Nico and Percy. Looking behind her, she seen the injured son of Poseidon getting to his feet. Seeing Percy injured made her angry. With a fierce war cry she turned back to Kratos and raised her spear to the sky, and with the familiar tug in her gut, a giant bolt of lighting fell from the sky and ricocheted off of her spear and shot forward striking the Son of Zeus in his chest flinging him back wards only for his to roll to his feet with a mixed look of surprise and anger on his face.
Faster than Thalia thought possible, Kratos slashed outward with the blade in his left hand allowing it to extend along its chain. On instinct, the daughter of Zeus raised her shield barely getting it up in time to block the attack, the force of which sent her flying backwards and off her feet and into the son of Poseidon nocking him down and back with a disgruntled Hunter of Artemis on top of him.
"Ow." Percy groaned, barely lifting his head up before letting his head smack back down on the ground. "That could've been better."
The son of Poseidon was surprised, with barely a kick Kratos had broken all of his ribs. No one had ever hit him that hard not even lystagonian giants had hit him hard enough to break ALL of his ribs, and a few of them had back handed him through a few walls. Picking himself up off the ground with Thalia's help, he looked over and seen Nico's unconscious body being picked up by the former god of war, carried back to the house. Without turning around, Kratos called to the other demigods, "Come back to my house. I have Nectar and Ambrosia to heal you with and we will discuss the continuation of your training.
(Thalia's POV)
To say I was unhappy about our defeat was an understatement. I can't believe we were beaten so easily. Ok so yeah, in his world he had killed almost every god on his own, but we were the strongest three demigods alive, we should've been able to do more than that. It made my stomach twist in anger that we had been beaten so quickly and easily. As a daughter of Zeus, I hated failure, and I had just failed miserably against my immortal older brother. While I hated loosing, the strength that Kratos had shown made me respect him a lot. I respected power, and boy did he have it.
Lost in thought, I walked inside of Kratos' home and followed him into the back into a bedroom where he sat Nico down on the bed and sat down in a chair in a corner of the room, handing me and Percy a clay cup of Nectar, and square of Ambrosia. Accepting it gratefully, I drank a small sip of Nectar and nibbled on the Ambrosia. I moaned as I chewed food of the gods. Nectar and Ambosia almost made it worth getting hurt. Almost.
According to Artemis, everyone tasted something different when they ate and drank the food of the gods. To me, they taste just like Percy's mom's homemade blue chocolate chip cookies. Had tasted that way ever since I had some a Percy's house a year or so ago.
"I am disappointed," Kratos began dragging me from my thoughts, "I expected much more from all of the praise Athena gave to your abilities. We have a lot of training to do if you are to challenge Titans."
My face turned red in anger and embarrassment. I wanted to strangle him!
"However, Perhaps I can give you all a hand up to help you." He continued picking up Nico's sword that he had once told me he called Apelpsiao, or Despair in English. Chanting under his breath for a moment, Nico's sword glowed dark red for a moment before he sat it down, and it turned back to normal before he turned to Percy and me.
"Let me have your weapons for a moment." he grunted.
With some hesitancy, I handed over my mace canister and my bracelet, and Kelp-Head handed over his pen. He repeated the process with our, weapons and when the glow faded, he handed them back to us. Turning and walking out the doorway, Kratos called over his shoulder, "You should all get some rest. There are two more empty rooms. Rest now, for tomorrow the real training starts."
(A/N): And here is the first real chapter with any action so far. The fight between them however was just meant to show the difference in their power, and Kratos' power. It will be a main source of motivation for our Heroes. The next chapter will explain what Kratos did to Percy, Nico, and Thalia's weapons, along with the first real teraining exercise, and a main overview of how Kratos is going to do their training. And maybe a little Perlia fluff if I can work it in. As always please review, and thanks for reading. Have a good day and goodbye!
