Song: Bad Karma – Ida Maria
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear, Adele! Happy birthday to you!"
Adele Stackhouse blew out the candles of her cake making everyone clap. Sookie taking a picture to mark the occasion. It was Gran's 74th birthday.
The cake was soon cut and everyone was enjoying it, besides Pam and Eric who drank some alternative to TruBlood, which Sookie suspected to be actual blood, but didn't say anything. While everyone ate and drank, Gran opened her gifts.
Tara had gotten her a book she had been wanting, but didn't stay for dinner because she couldn't stand the vampire guests. Sookie didn't care really, ever since she returned from New York the two had grown a little apart. The distance between the two had grown since she started dating a vampire.
Jason didn't even bother coming. He probably forgot or didn't care. Sookie could spit on her brother.
Jane and Darcy had gotten her a new nightgown set. Sookie got her a new camera, while Pam got her a set of luggage. It all went with Eric's gift.
"A ticket for an around the world trip?" Gran was shocked. "I couldn't possibly accept this, Eric!"
Eric smiled, "Please, Adele, I'm more then happy to fulfill this wish for you. It's no trouble at all, and you only turn 74 once."
"That's kinda funny coming from a vampire." Darcy snickered, earning a nudge from Jane.
Sookie grinned and hugged her Gran, "You know, Gran, it would be rude to not accept such a generous gift, especially from your vampire grandson-in-law."
Gran pushed her lips together and gave Sookie a look, but then smiled, telling everyone she was going to go pack.
Once everyone had either left, or had gone to bed, Eric took Sookie down into the safe room he had created in Gran's home. The couple had split their time between here and at Eric's house. Sookie was worried about the elderly woman, and Jane was still running tests on her.
Eric kissed Sookie as they lay in bed together, "I think I'm your grandmother's favorite now." He smirked.
Sookie chuckled, "More like you're a brown-nosier."
Eric growled and nipped her lip with a smirk, making Sookie grin. She was happy, nothing would take this feeling away from her.
Across the universe on Asgard, a man chased a woman through the forest. Both laughing happily.
"I'm going to get you!" The man laughed.
They both continued this game of chase, until the man tackled the woman to the ground, them rolling in the grass until he was on top of her. They laughed once again and kissed. The woman smiling up at the man above her.
"I love you, Loki." She grinned.
Loki grinned and caressed the woman's cheek.
"And I you, Sookie."
This was a common dream Loki gave himself. Being with Sookie. A dream he doubted would ever come true.
"Now this is just sad." A dark voice spoke up.
When Loki looked, the world around him turned into a barren wasteland. Sookie was gone as well.
"Looking for someone?"
Loki stood up and looked towards the voice. Sookie stood there in the arms of a man with long silver hair and blue eyes.
"Oberon." Loki whispered.
Oberon smirked, "She's very beautiful, Loki. Her golden hair reminds me of Titania's."
"What are you doing here?" Loki demanded.
The mirth fell from Oberon's face, "Can't I visit an old friend? I mean it's been so long since we've seen each other... When was the last time? Ah yes!" He glared at Loki, "When you killed Titania."
"I did not kill her Oberon, it was your sword which priced her."
"Silence!" Oberon had a mad look in his eyes Loki noted, "It was all your fault and now I'm going to make you pay for it!" He gave Loki a sickening grin. "Starting with this beauty."
Loki felt his body freeze, as Oberon drew out a dagger and caressed Sookie's neck with it.
Oberon's grin widened, "You love this girl. I can tell. I thought long and hard about what would hurt you the most, and I think I figured it out. You see I had planned to just kill the wench and send you her body in pieces, but then I found out about her fae heritage. Do you know she's of royal blood?" He licked her cheek, "I think she would make the perfect bride for me, don't you think?"
Loki glared at him, "If you lay a hand on her, Oberon, I will-!"
Oberon laughed, "You'll what, Loki? You're in a cell! By the time Odin finally releases you, your precious Sookie will be a shell of what she was. I'll make sure of it. I'll make her bare me a heir and once the child is weened from her breast I'll slit her pretty little throat."
He then slit the Sookie in his arm's throat as a demonstration. Loki knew this was all an illusion, but seeing Sookie standing there, blood seeping from her neck enraged him. He quickly swung at Oberon, only for the illusion to melt away and wake him up.
Loki quickly looked around the room in a panic, but Oberon was nowhere to be seen. He checked his link with Sookie and she was still alive and well, he sensed no danger, but that didn't mean she wouldn't be in danger soon.
Quickly rising to his feet, Loki banged against the cell wall.
"Guard! Guard!" When the guard came, Loki didn't waste any time, "I need you to get me, Thor. Tell him it's an emergency!"
The next morning, Sookie saw her Gran off with a smile. She was on her way to the airport to start her trip.
Jane and Darcy had left to go eat lunch at Merlotte's. Sookie luckily didn't have to work today, and that pleased her just fine. Since blood bonding with Eric, Sam had been a thorn in her side. She didn't know how he knew, and frankly she didn't care. It was really non of his business.
Sookie fiddled around the house while she waited for Eric to arise. She made herself lunch, read , and did laundry; and despite all of that she still had three hours to kill. Sookie groaned and decided to sunbathe.
As she laid there in the suns rays, Sookie didn't notice someone watching her from the woods. Before that someone could make their move however, Darcy and Jane pulled up.
"You know you can get cancer that way." Darcy said as she got out of the car.
Sookie rolled her eyes and moved onto her stomach.
"Sam asked about you." Jane spoke up, taking a seat next to her. "I told him I liked Eric and that it wasn't any of his business really."
Sookie groaned, "He really needs to get a new hobby. I really should quit."
It was starting to get darker, so the trio went inside, Sookie going down the ladder to Eric and her's room. She was about to take off her bikini and change into something more appropriate, when she was pinned against the wall by a very naked vampire.
Sookie grinned, "Well good evening to you too."
Eric growled lustfully and sniffed her neck, "Mmm you were out in the sun today."
"Glad you noticed."
"You know what this scent does to me, especially when you're wearing next to nothing." Eric nipped her neck making Sookie moan.
"Well I can definitely feel the effect I'm having on you." She panted slightly, her lust starting to match up with his own.
Eric was about to rip off the flimsy material, but his ring tone halted his actions. He growled, before vamping to his cellphone and back to Sookie. He answered it, while undressing her.
"Yes?"
It was Pam, "Well that's awfully rude, am I interrupting something?" She purred on the other side.
"This better be important, Pam." He growled as he nibbled on Sookie's neck.
Pam sighed, "You're no fun." Eric could practically hear her pouting through the phone, "But yes, I called to inform you we have the three rednecks that were involved in that kidnapping in our basement. I figured you would wish to deal with them now rather then later."
Eric sighed and agreed, saying he would be there in a few minutes. Once he hung up, he kissed Sookie's forehead.
"Sorry, älskling, I have to run to Fangtasia."
Sookie sighed, but smiled, "I'll come with you then, we can finish this in your office."
Eric inwardly cringed. He didn't want Sookie there for this. The rednecks were humans, she could hear them and probably see what they were experiencing. He usually scheduled these things on nights she was working because he didn't want her to see this side of him yet.
"I don't think that's a good idea tonight."
Sookie's eyebrow rose, "Why?"
"It involves my sheriff duties, Sookie."
Sookie stared at him for a moment then sighed, "You have to kill someone right?" Eric's eyes widened, "I know you schedule these things when I'm usually busy so I can't hear then right? The problem is I can read other people, Eric. I mean the 'cleaners' come to the bar sometimes, and then there's Bobby." Eric smirked a little when Sookie said Bobby's name in disgust. "I've known about your darker side for a good while now."
"And you're not upset?"
Sookie shrugged, "I wouldn't say I'm happy about it, but I mean my previous ex killed a good number of people as well, so I feel like I would be a hypocrite for getting mad at you, and from what I heard of Bobby's thoughts you had good reasons for most of them. I never knew vampire blood was a drug, I mean I guess I should have figured from the times I drank from you, but people killing others just for a high? That's horrible."
Eric nodded, "Yes, it's a growing problem, and a lot of vampires have lost their lives because of it. We were ordered to stop it at the source, however that doesn't seem to help as far as I'm concerned."
"Cut off one head of a hydra and two take it's place sorta deal?"
Eric nodded, honestly he was surprised Sookie was taking this so well.
"What about whoever you have at Fangtasia now? Another drug dealer? Maybe I can come and help, maybe pick out some names from him?"
"You're being awfully supportive of this." Eric commented.
Sookie shrugged, "I have vampires I care about. Just the thought that this could happen to you or Pam angers me. Also I think becoming somewhat immortal has warped my opinion on the human race a little. I see people getting away with much worse things, and I don't think that's right."
Eric kissed Sookie, "You amaze me every day. You would make a magnificent vampire you know."
"Why?" Sookie smirked, "Because I'm high maintenance, blood thirsty, and old as dirt?"
Eric smirked this time, "Blood thirsty, yes."
Sookie stuck her tongue out at him, making him laugh.
Eric then sighed, "The men we have are not drug dealers this time. They kidnapped another vampire, a young female, and held her captive. They fed from her and did other unspeakable things to her for several days. Her maker had found her just yesterday night."
Sookie looked horrified, and Eric could feel a deeper feeling inside of her, "That's awful..."
Eric nodded, "She gave us descriptions of the three and her maker tracked down their scents. It's my job as Sheriff to see to their execution. This is considered a blood offense."
Sookie nodded, "Then I guess you don't need my help this time?"
"No, however I will keep your offer in mind for the future." Eric kissed her. "How about you head back to our home, slip into something enticing, and I'll come unwrap you in a few hours."
Sookie sighed and kissed him, "Fine, but hurry up cowboy." She then teleported out of his arms and to their house.
Back on Asgard, Thor was now at Loki's cell. Loki was pacing as he relayed his information to his ex brother.
"And this Oberon wishes to harm Sookie to get back at you?"
"For the millionth time, yes!" Loki was frustrated. "You must let me out of here, Thor, I have to protect her. Only I know what Oberon is capable of."
Thor was silent for a moment, then he shook his head, "I truly am sorry, but I cannot do that."
"Thor, this is about Sookie! How can you not grant me the ability to protect her!?"
"For all I know you could be lying about this too, Loki."
"Why would I lie when it comes to Sookie!?" Loki banged on his cell door.
"To possibly get back to her?"
"Thor, do you honestly think..."
"Enough, Loki!" Thor sighed, "I will go protect Lady Sookie. If this Oberon does appear I will be ready for him."
Thor began walking away, making Loki bang on the cell harder.
"Thor! Thor!" Loki banged harder, "Brother, please!"
Thor paused for a moment,it had been awhile since Loki had called him brother, hr then whispered, "I'm sorry, Loki." Before he continued his path.
Loki growled and sent a wave of power through his room, destroying it in anger and frustration. Not seeing someone in the shadows, watching him. The figured watched as he had a break down, she had never seen him like this.
"This Sookie must be important to you." It spoke up to him.
Loki turned as the speaker came out of the shadows. It was Frigga.
"Mother..." Loki whispered.
"Who is Sookie, Loki? Is she the one in the locket you wear around your neck?"
Loki was silent for a moment, of course he couldn't hide that from his mother, "Yes."
"I don't think I have heard the name Sookie, ever in my whole lifetime."
"I met her on Midguard..."
Frigga smiled more, "I see... she must be extraordinary if she holds my son's heart in such a way... I hope I get to meet her soon."
She then opened the cell door. Loki stared at it for a moment in disbelief.
"Mother?"
Frigga chuckled, "Go, save your Sookie. I will take care of Odin's wrath." Frigga stepped forward and kissed Loki's cheek, "I can tell she's good for you, for at this moment I see the son I raised."
Loki nodded and kissed his mother's forehead, before running out of the cell and down the hall.
'Wait for me, Miss Faery.' He thought to himself.
Jane and Darcy ate dinner together. They figured they were going to be by themselves tonight. Eric had left a little while ago, and mentioned Sookie had teleported to their home.
"It's true apparently. When you get married everything changes." Darcy sighed.
"Come on, Darcy, it's not that bad. We still see her. Besides, I'm happy for her."
A bright light outside then startled them, a few seconds later Thor stormed in, looking ready for battle.
"Thor, what the hell? You almost gave me a heart attack!" Darcy exclaimed.
"I apologize, Darcy, but this is an emergency. Where's Sookie?"
Jane looked concerned, "She's not here, she left for her other home."
"Other home?"
Darcy then spoke up, "Yeah, a lot has happened since you last came by."
"Well we need to go to this other home now. Sookie's in danger."
Jane stood up, "What?"
"I can explain on the way, but we must leave now!"
Jane was panicked now, and looked to Darcy, "I don't know where Eric's house, do you?"
"Erik? Sookie's living with Selvig now?" Thor was confused.
"No, different Eric." Darcy grabbed the keys, "I don't know either, but he should be at Fangtasia right? I'll text Pam."
Sookie hummed as she made her dinner. She had a feeling Eric wasn't going to let her rest once he got home, so she wanted to eat. She had dressed in a night white knee length silk nightgown she had gotten recently. She assumed Eric would be home in a few hours.
It gave her time to calm herself as well. Whenever she heard anything involving women being forced into sexual situations, it always brought back memories of Uncle Bartlet. No one knew about him besides her Gran. She wasn't ready to share that part of her life with anyone.
Suddenly, Sookie felt several pops coming from outside. About ten. She prepared herself and started heading outside, staring at the treeline.
"Whoever's out there, you might as well show yourselves, because I ain't in the mood to be snuck up on!"
Soon they came out. They were blond and blue eyed men and women, there was something other about them though. Sookie could feel it.
One of them stepped forward, he looked like the leader of this little group.
"We have come to take you to our King. He wishes to meet with you."
Sookie crossed her arms over her chest, "If he wants to meet me so bad he can come meet me himself."
"He has instructed us to bring you in either willingly or by force."
Sookie shrugged, "Then I guess it'll be the hard way then, because I ain't going anywhere with you."
"So be it."
They all rushed forward, and Sookie began teleporting around the area. She kicked, punched, and blasted her way through the crowd with ease. These guys obviously under estimated her, she was positive she could take them.
She got a little to cocky however, and a man was about to attack her from behind, only to be stopped by three throwing knives. Sookie turned around just as he fell, she was confused.
"Looks like I arrived just in time."
Sookie's heart stopped. She knew that voice. She thought she would never hear that voice ever again. She slowly turned to it and there he was.
His hair had grown, it was now in a ponytail over his shoulder, but he looked exactly as she remembered.
"Loki." She whispered.
