Chapter 11- Save Me (Remy Zero)
(Nico POV)
"AAAAAHHHH." I screamed while I was getting dragged downward through the air by the tentacle that had grabbed me by my ankle. I was digging in my pocket for my switchblade.
Finally closing my hand around it, I pulled it out and clicked the button causing it to transform into my trusty Stygian Iron sword. I was tempted to twist my body around and slash the tentacle off of me, but I figured that would be bad, because I had no idea how far the ground was down. I had no choice but to wait for what ever it was that had grabbed me to come face to face with me. Which I figured was where it was pulling me to.
I shouldn't have gotten out of bed this morning.
(Percy POV)
As I charged across the bridge, Riptide in hand and Thalia right behind me, I kept a sharp eye out for more of those tentacles to shoot over the bridge at us. When none did, I began to fear the worst. If it wasn't attacking me and Thalia it was possible that whatever monster it was had been sent after Nico. Which meant that Nico was most likely captured already and we had to hurry and get him back. I felt like a failure for letting him get captured. I should've went across the bridge first.
When I made it to the other side of the bridge, I stood still for a moment and gave my surroundings a quick once over. I was standing at the top of a giant rocky mountain that had a long curvy dirt road leading from the bridge all the way down the mountain. At least as far down the mountain as I could see. I saw no sign of Nico or the monster that had captured him, and that worried me.
"What do we do, now?" Thalia asked and I jumped a little at her voice. I had forgotten she was behind me for a moment there.
"I guess we keep going down the path," I replied, "And hope we run into Nico."
Thalia nods, "Guess we don't have much choice."
"Yeah," I sighed, "Especially since we don't even know what monster kidnapped him."
Thalia looks at me sideways for a moment, a strange look flitting through her eyes before she replies, "Let's go."
WRRRREEEENNN
After we took a step forward, an earsplitting screech caused us to stop. Looking around trying o find the source of the scream, I seen a dark red Aura block off the road in front of us and the bridge behind us. Stepping back to the bridge, I reached my hand out to touch the red barrier. The instant my hand touched it, the nerves in my hand lit up in pain
"OW!" I yelped hopping backwards and fanning my hand like it was on fire.
"Quit, being an idiot, Percy!" Thalia snapped worry flashing in her eyes. Wait, worry? Why would she be worried about me.
I just flashed her a cheeky grin, which melted off my face as quick as it appeared. "Turn around." I commanded raising my sword and eyeing the monsters behind Thals.
Her face scrunched in confusion, She spun around. "Shit!" she swore. For once I agreed. There was a bunch of monsters easily two dozen. Most of them were hell-hounds. However two stood in the back and were weird looking. I hadn't seen anything like them since I had been a demigod. They were tall and lanky, with horns and were wearing gold and blue armor. Looking below there waist I noticed that their bottom halves were identical to a Satyr.
Basically the were tall,demonic Satyrs wielding a weird looking staff, that had curved blades on both ends. In my stupor, a hellhound charged me, and reacting on instinct, I flashed my sword across it's body twice and it turned to gold powder instantly. "With a battle cry, Thalia and I converged on the monsters.
(Third Person POV)
Charging into the enemy monsters, both Percy and Thalia turned into a deadly cyclone of destruction. They ripped through the Hell-Hounds with barely a moments pause. Never noticing whenever they killed a monster three to five red orbs would fly from the disappearing body and adsorb it their body.
The one time that it appeared that the sheer number of the monsters would overwhelm the teenage demigods, Thalia yelled, "Hiya!" and a larger than normal bolt of lightning struck down and reflected off of her shield and fried at least ten of the nearest monsters. Glaring at the last remaining monster, Thalia tossed her spear and impaled it on instinct. Immediately after, the spear reappeared in her hand. Thalia looked at it in surprise. It must be a new ability I got when Kratos fused two of his weapons with mine, She realized.
Unfortunatly, while she was staring at her weapon in shock, the two Demon Satyrs attacked her. One smacked her in the back and the other wacked her on top of her head with its staff and nocked her unconscious.
(Percy POV)
"No!" I screamed in rage as I saw the two Evil Satyrs nock Thalia unconscious. Dashing forward, my thoughts consumed with rage, I grabbed the nearest ones staff and attempted to wrestle it from him. Not being able to, I shoved my sword threw the front of its helm, and threw the monster skyward. Before it got to high up, I called my sword back down, using the connection I had with the Oceanic power inside of it.
I had only recently realized I could do that with Riptide. Turning to the last Demon Satyr, I block a couple of acrobatic strikes from its staff. Not wanting to be pushed on the defensive by the monster, I made my move. I thrust my sword forward, intending on stabbing the Demon in the gut, when my sword did something it had never done before.
halfway through the stab, my sword tuned to an aquatic bullet that coated and turned the Evil Satyr to a giant block of Ice when it came into contact with its skin. On instinct, I swiped my hand out to the side and the ice shattered causing the monster to shatter with it.
As it dissolved something even weirder happened. Six giant red orbs flew from the dissolving monsters body and absorbed into my skin.
What the hell is going on around here? I wondered.
(A/N) : And here is another chapter! I know its kind of short, but I figured the content and the speed that I up[loaded it will make it alright. The next chapter will be longer because we have some explanations coming up! and of course some more battles as our heroes fight their way to Nico, and a deadly boss battle coming up before they reach the River Styx!
