Song: Smoke and Mirrors – Imagine Dragons
Eric and Loki watched a now bandaged Sookie as she slept on the couch. Thor was still on guard and Jane had gone to bed. Sookie was now breathing evenly to the relief of her husbands.
Eric turned to Loki, "Now that, that crisis is over. How about you explain to me why Oberon wants Sookie so badly."
Loki sighed, "It happened awhile ago. There was turf war between Oberon and... Niall Brigant." He glanced at Sookie, he hadn't expected her to be part of the Brigant line. He wondered if it was fate playing a trick on him, "King Brigant had asked of Odin for his assistance. It was suppose to be an easy task. Get on the inside and find Oberon's weakness. Odin gave me the task to infiltrate Oberon's court."
Loki stood and went to stare out the window. This was not a happy memory for him.
"I'm guessing it wasn't so simple?"
Loki shook his head, "I was able to gain access. Oberon was cocky and easy enough to trick. Soon I figured out his weakness... His wife, Tatiana. I had befriended them both. Oberon even taught me the art of entering one's dreams. Then the day came. Niall Brigant's army came. Oberon figured out I was a spy and tried to kill me, but then Tatiana jumped in the way. She was a kind soul and was trying to stop us from fighting. She died and Oberon held me responsible." Loki sighed, "When Tatiana died, Oberon disappeared. I know not of how he found out about Sookie."
Eric now understood. If anyone had done the same to him and he had lost Sookie, he would hunt them down to the ends of the universe. It didn't matter though. The madman would never get near Sookie. He began thinking up strategies to protect his wife and figure out a way to dispose of Oberon.
Loki turned back towards Eric, he could see he was deep in thought.
"So how did you and Sookie come to meet?" It was something he had been wondering.
Eric smirked, "She walked into a bar I own and sassed my bartender. Then she warned me about a police raid. How about you?"
"She hadn't told you?" Eric shook his head, "She blasted me with her light in Germany, twice."
Eric laughed, "I'm guessing you deserved it?" He smirked.
Loki smirked right back, "Probably. I'm still confused about what I did wrong that night. All I did was try and assert my power over the crowd."
"Well the Germans don't take kindly to power hungry men." Sookie suddenly spoke up.
Both men looked to her as she slowly opened her eyes with a groan. Eric moved to kneel at her side, while Loki moved to stand behind the couch.
"How are you feeling, älskling?" Eric asked gently.
"Like I got hit in the shoulder with a baseball bat a couple hundred times." She winced as she tried to push herself up.
"You shouldn't move, darling. You're still healing." Loki gently scolded.
"He's right, you should keep resting." Eric agreed.
Sookie looked between the two in confusion. They weren't trying to kill each other. They were even teaming up against her. What the heck?
"Not that I'm complaining, but how are you two in the same room and not killing each other?" Sookie questioned.
Eric and Loki looked to each other and spoke at the same time, "Well..."
Sookie sat there in shock. She was married to both of them? She was royalty? She couldn't wrap her head around it.
"So, I'm married to both of you?"
Eric and Loki both nodded. They were all sitting at the dining room table with a pizza that Eric had acquired for her. Loki thought the food to be strange, but he liked it. He hadn't eaten the whole day and crossing realms could make one work up an appetite.
"I... I just can't wrap my head around this. I mean wouldn't this be against the law? Having two husbands I mean."
"In the human community, yes. In the supernatural community, no. Some vampires even have harems." Eric shrugged.
Loki then spoke up, "The same goes for Asgaurdians, dearest. Although it's usually a husband with two or three wives, however I don't believe there's a rule."
So polygamy was legal everywhere else pretty much? 'Great.' Sookie thought.
Eric gently took her hand in his own, "We know it's a lot to process, however Loki and I have somewhat agreed that this could be beneficial to all of us." Sookie looked up at him like he had grown a second head making Eric chuckle, "For example, I can't protect you in the day, Loki can."
Loki spoke up, "Eric can locate you with your bond and feel your emotions. I may excel in all types of magic, however none of my teachings extend to that. It's as if we balance each other out."
Sookie looked between both of them, "And... You're both ok with this?"
Eric sighed, "I will admit that sharing your affections will take some getting use to, but this also means you won't feel obligated to have to choose between the two of us. I know how much that would hurt you, älskling, and I made a vow I would never hurt you."
Loki took Sookie's other hand in his own, "I as well have made such a vow. I will never leave you again, Darling."
Sookie looked less conflicted now, but both men knew it would take some time for her to get use to this.
"I think I need some fresh air... Alone. I just need to precess all of this. I don't even want to think about that whole fae royalty thing."
The two men only relented when she agreed to let Pam guard her. She had come back from Fangtasia with Darcy a few moments ago. She was sitting on a bench looking up at the stars. Pam was leaning against the back of it.
"Two husbands, huh?" Pam smirked.
Sookie sighed, "Pam, this isn't the time for jokes."
"I'm not joking in the slightest, Sookie dear, I find it... Kinky?"
Sookie looked up at her with a raised eyebrow, "Kinky? How is this kinky?"
Pam smirked, "Think about it, you have Eric who is probably on the top ten list of most powerful vampires in the United States or perhaps even the world. Then you have Loki who's considered a God on this plane and was close to conquering the world; And you my dear friend, have them wrapped around your little finger."
Sookie blushed and looked away, "No I don't."
"Oh please," Pam rolled her eyes, "I bet if you so desired it they would conquer the universe just to get a taste of your honey pot."
"Pam!"
Pam chuckled, "Speaking of which, you also get to have both in bed." When Sookie's blush grew Pam laughed, "What? Did you not think about that?"
She was thinking about it now. Eric and Loki both in bed with her. Eric nibbling on her neck, while Loki kissed her...
"I've been with Eric in the past, so I know he's good, but tell me, is it true what they say about silver tongues?" Pam purred.
"Well Loki's never..." Sookie blushed more and jumped up, spinning towards Pam, "I'm not going to discuss this with you, Pam!"
Pam pouted, then looked to the side, Loki was approaching them.
"Speak of the devil."
Sookie turned away from the god, she was to embarrassed to face him at the moment.
Loki smiled to Pam, "I wish to speak with Sookie alone, I believe the vampire wishes to see you anyway."
Pam nodded and sent a wink to Sookie, before she sauntered back into the house.
Loki placed his hand on Sookie's shoulders, "I know this is all hard on you, however I couldn't stay away from you. Would you permit me to be with you for a moment?"
Sookie nodded and turned into Loki's arms, the god holding her close.
"Oh, how I missed this feeling, my love." He smiled into her hair.
Sookie smiled and wrapped her arms around him, "I missed you too."
Loki then smirked and produced a knife. It magically appearing in his hand. He pulled away a little and stared into Sookie's eyes. His blue eyes staring down into her own.
Pam soon found Eric in the study, but then stopped dead in her tracks. Loki was there with him.
Eric looked to Pam, "Pamela? I told you to stay with Sookie."
"I was, but Loki came and asked to be alone with her." She looked to the god, "Can you teleport like Sookie or something?"
Loki's body tensed, "I never went out there to see her."
Everyone was soon running out of the room.
Sookie was confused, something about Loki seemed different.
Sookie, the eyes! Look at the eyes!
Something screamed inside of her. Loki's eyes were green not blue! As she realized this she quickly blasted the fake Loki away, knocking him into a tree.
The fake Loki stood back up and glared at Sookie. A smirk on his face.
"You're smarter then I took you for. I won't make that mistake again."
His appearance soon changed to that of Oberon.
"However, you're a mere fledgling compared to me. Let's see how you handle the power of a full fledged fae."
With a wave of his hands, the shadows around Oberon began to form into dark beings with red eyes. They soon began charging towards Sookie, but were stopped by two bolts of lightning. Sookie then found herself staring at Eric's back. Eric was snarling, his fangs fully extended. Thor and Loki were in front of him prepared to strike.
"Ah the cavalry has arrived! I was hoping for this!" Oberon grinned, the madness showing in his eyes.
"Oberon, stop this now, your fight is with me." Loki stood his ground.
Oberon tsked, "It's her fault as much as yours. If it wasn't for her family, Tatiana would still be alive! She will suffer with you!"
Oberon summoned more shadowed beings and sent them forward. The fighting soon began. Thor using his thunder, Loki using his daggers and magic, Eric guarding Sookie, and Sookie shooting her light when she could. She could feel her body getting weaker however. She was still recovering and this was putting a strain on her.
Thor soon missed one however, and the shadow tackled him to the ground, it melting over his face creating a cloud of haze around him, Thor then began to panic.
"Thor!" Sookie ran over to check on him.
Thor didn't seem to notice her, all he did was stare at Loki. To the god, it looked like his brother was covered in blood and holding Jane's severed head. He was laughing and taunting Thor.
Thor screaming and began charging at Loki. Loki was stunned and didn't react fast enough. He was knocked back by him and Thor kept attacking him with everything he had.
"Thor, what has gotten into you!" Sookie tried to pry the god off Loki, but he only pushed her back making her hit her head on a rock.
Eric tried to run to Sookie, but Oberon produced silver chains and sent them to wrap around Eric. Keeping him in place.
'That's enough, Thor." Oberon smirked and snapped his fingers. The haze around Thor's face turned white and the god had a dreamy smile on his face and he moved to sit against a tree. Loki was on the ground bleeding and he was sure one of his legs were broken. "My nightmares are amazing are they not?"
Oberon laughed and began approaching Sookie with the same knife he had before.
"Get away from her!" Eric roared.
Loki tried to beg, but he couldn't. Thor had crushed his wind pipe as well it seemed.
Oberon was at Sookie's side now, he smirked towards Loki as he raised the knife.
"Pay back's a bitch, Loki."
Oberon brought the knife down, but before it could pierce her flesh, Sookie smirked and a force knocked Oberon away. Her body began to glow once again with runes and her whole body raised from the ground. She was now back on her feet and her wounds were rapidly healing. Her eyes opened and surveyed the area around her. They were now glowing blue.
When her eyes focused on Oberon, who was just now standing up, she smirked.
"This is going to be fun."
