Chapter 14- Kill Her (Hopsin)
(Percy POV)
As we crossed over the arch, the familiar red aura appeared and block the entrance and exit to the arena we had step into. I was on high alert. Kratos had told us that Poseidon's level contained the sister of Medusa, Euryale. As a gorgon, I wondered if she would have the same ability to turn enemies to stone that Medusa had. All the same, she was bound to be a powerful monster and we needed to be prepared for anything.
After a moment passed and Euryale didn't appear, Thalia relaxed a little. "Where is she?"
The instant those words left her mouth, a giant hole of darkness and fire opened up in front of us and out slithered one of the most horrible monsters I had ever seen.
Considering the first thing I had seen when the monster had slithered out of the hole was her face, I figured it was safe to assume that she couldn't turn us to stone.
Her hair was a mass of slithering snakes, she wore no clothing on her upper body which appeared to be scaled like a serpents, and the lower half of her body was like a giant Scythian Dracaena. Her fingers were deadly looking claws and the tip of her tail vaguely resembled a rattlesnakes rattler, with spikes all over it.
"Watch the tail." I warned Thalia, just in case she didn't see it for herself.
"Right." She answered before letting loose a fearsome war cry and running straight for Euryale.
(Third Person POV)
As Thalia charged at the gorgon, she noticed it rearing its head back with red energy gathering in its eyes. Remembering the Sirens, she rolled to the side just as Euryale leaned forward, unleashing the red energy. I splashed across one of the Undead soldiers that Percy was fighting, turning it to stone.
Percy was busy making quick work of the Undead soldiers when suddenly on of them turned to stone and he shattered its head with a well place slash of his sword, glancing briefly towards Euryale, he realized it must have been the monster. Slashing through the last three in a series of high-speed attacks, Percy quickly turned back to Euryale and Thalia. She was doing decent against the gorgon, but she was starting to tire. In addition to having to dodge the tail, she had to duck and parry the monster's clawed hands, and dodge anytime she attempted to blast her with energy lest she get turned to stone.
All the movement was causing her to exhaust herself at a much quicker rate than normal. Deciding to put one of her new moves to use she spun her spear around, pointing the end of the shaft at the gorgon and twisted the shaft causing the end to explode and send shards of crystal flying at Euryale. (A/N)
When the shards pierced the chest of the angry monster, she screamed in pain causing the shards to explode by her movement.
BWAM!
The force of the explosion knocked Thalia off of her feet and flung Euryale backward and on her back. Percy looking to capitalize on the explosion jumped forward and planted Riptide in her back, and activating one of his new attacks.
Twisting his blade slightly, he poured power into the blade and flooding the body of Euryale, causing, in random places, the blood of the monster turn to ice blades identical to riptide that exploded out of the skin of Euryale. With a final screech she died.
(Kratos POV)
As I walked out of the Roman camp, I could feel Euryale die. Obviously, The son of Poseidon and my sister had managed to Kill the old monster. It was a good thing I had managed to finish my business in New Roman when I did, considering I had promised the killer of the gorgon a new weapon.
It wasn't like I was allowed to do much here anyway, not that I wanted to considering what they did to Athena when they turned her into Minerva. Only reason Athena even asked me to help was because as the god of justice, Zeus couldn't help one of his kids and not the other. So he ordered Athena to send me to the Roman camp and give his son a new weapon.
This one was an all new one, I had got Hephaestus to help me make. Giving it to him, I told him to be careful, it was a powerful weapon and to not take it's power lightly.
Back to the matter at hand, I focused and transported myself to where Percy and Thalia were.
(Percy POV)
As the monster dissolved I jumped down and turned back to where Thalia was, only to become slightly panicked when I saw that she hadn't picked herself up off of the ground just yet. Running over, I capped my sword and put it in my pocket. I had gained a lot of red orbs from killing Euryale, and I might have enough orbs to upgrade riptide again, but it wasn't important right now.
Reaching Thals, I kneeled down and said, "You alright? Thalia?"
Suddenly, I was flat on my ass, my face in pain. "OW! What the hell?"
I glanced up from my place on the ground to see Thalia's arm sticking straight up in air from where she had punched me in the face, before rolling over and climbing to her feet. Looking at me, tiredly, she replied, "That's for attacking her blindly. Did you even know she could turn people to stone?"
I scowled, "Yeah, I did actually! She turned one of the Undead I was fighting into stone after all!"
She just growls back, "Whatever!"
I started to keep arguing with her, but I was interrupted by a brilliant red flash coming from my left. Turning to face the source of the flash, I frowned. Kratos had returned like he had promised.
I had already made up my mind. I was gonna jump the Fallen God if he refused to take me to Nico. After all, I was a lot stronger now. I had to be strong enough to fight him off right?
Before I could even open my mouth, however, he tossed something at me and I realized it was a notch of the chains on his forearms. It had a design on the side of it that vaguely resembled the head of the monster we had just killed.
Then, he threw another notch off of his chains at Thalia.
"I saw the fight," was all he replied, "Since you was the one who actually dealt the fatal blow, Perseus, you get her head, which still has the power to turn your enemies to stone, and can also be upgraded like your sword. Thalia, since your attack was instrumental in the defeat of Euryale, he get a new weapon as well. You get the Typhon's Bane. A powerful bow made of wind and shoots shots of air in a powerful bolt and can be upgraded like your spear and shield."
With that he flashed out and all I could do was frown and stare at the spot he was standing. Looks like I had no choice but to continue down this road, and pray when I hit the bottom Nico was still alive.
(A/N): And here is the new Chapter! I know its a lot shorter than the past two chapters or so, but I felt like I needed to end it here, anyway, the next chapter will be longer. As the stats stand, Riptide Lv2: bonus' to Percy's power, strength, speed, and demigod power(elemental power) Aka- +6% Physical Power, +7% Physical Resist, +5% Speed, +9% elemental power. New attacks; Orion's breaker- Percy changes his blade into a big bolt of water that covers the enemy then freezes and shatters, killing most monsters. However the amount of water produced is only so much and cannot cover more than one enemy or an extremely large monster. Theseus' Judgment- After impaling an enemy, the water of the blade spreads out and infects the enemies blood stream causing its blood to form into ice blades that explode outward all over the enemies body.
Arms of Olympus Lv2: Bonus' to Thalia's power, strength, speed, defense and demigod power (elemental power) Aka- +4% Physical Power, +5% Physical Resist, +3% Speed, +10% Defensive power, + 6% elemental power. New Attacks; Piercing Shards- Fires a volley of razor sharp projectiles at the enemy that explodes on contact. Athena's Return (Not yet used)- reflects projectile attacks back at the enemy. Spartan Offensive(Not yet used) - Unleashes a series of rapid strikes with the spear, while crouching behind the shield. Spear Assault - Hurl spears at an enemy with deadly accuracy. Regenerates the spear after every throw. Spirit of Leonidas(Not yet used) - Throw your spear into the ground, sending all enemies flying back. Unfortunate Remains - Uses the Spear to create deadly hazards that will explode upon enemy contact. Rage of Leonidas (Not yet used) - Slams the shield into the ground, launching enemies into the air.
Some of Thalia's attacks come directly from the game, however, she will have one more level to go towards maxing her spear and shield out than in the game, giving her some new attacks and unique attacks at that level. Anyways, thanks for reading and have a great day and good bye. Don't forget to review!
