"Hey, you okay?" Tonya snapped out of the daze she'd been in as she followed behind Miyuki with one of his bags.

"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" She slapped a smile on her face as they turned into the Seido grounds.

It was late November and Miyuki was being allowed back in the dorms finally. He'd completed his therapy earlier than expected and had made remarkable progress. After one final visit to the doctor he'd been officially cleared. It hadn't taken long for the good news to reach Seido and now the guys were practically ready to throw a party in celebration. Not wanting to dampen the guys mood (and only because it was their off season) Kataoka had decided to cancel practice for the next couple of day to allow Miyuki to adjust back to dorm life. And to let the guys come down off the high that their captain was back with them.

"Are you going to miss me?" Miyuki called over his shoulder. Wearing that annoying grin as they climbed the stairs to his room.

"A little." Tonya admitted as she followed him inside. It was a bittersweet moment. Miyuki was back with his team, but he was also leaving Tonya.

Miyuki couldn't even find it in him to tease her about her admission. In truth, he was going to miss living with the Greys. Mostly with Tonya. He'd grown so used to seeing her on a daily basis. From their banters, to their study sessions, to taking turns cooking, to just being near each other. When he'd first began this journey he never would have guessed that the girl would grow on him so much that the thought of having to leave her would bother him so. This should be one of his happier days. He was finally getting to rejoin his team. It's what he'd been waiting for all this time. Now that it was here….

Glancing back, he saw Tonya lost in thought as well as she sat on his bed. Miyuki would be willing to bet she was thinking about the exact same thing he was. What would they do now? Would they still be able to maintain their easy as breathing friendship? Or would the absence of the other's familiar presence cause them to grow apart? He knew their practice schedules alone would keep them busy. The two had never really hung out much outside of the house or unless their schedules happened to overlap.

"Don't think too hard. You'll hurt yourself." Tonya's voice drew him back to reality as a weight pressed against him. Feeling arms loop around his neck and hold on to his shoulders as Tonya rested her chin on his head. "We'll figure something out. You're my best friend after all. I kinda need you in my life."

"I'm your best friend? I figured Minako-chan had filled that spot." Miyuki chuckled as he gradually felt himself relaxing. All the stress from before leaving his body.

"Riko is a good friend and she, Lily, and Rei are my female best friends. But as for the one I constantly pester and know I can bitch to when things go bad, that's your position buddy." Tonya muttered as she felt Miyuki reach up and grab one of her arms.

"And here I was worrying that my best friend was going to forget about me." Miyuki said softly. He felt Tonya let go of one of his shoulders. Holding her hand out to him as he reached out and laced his fingers through hers.

'I must be a glutton for punishment.' Tonya thought to herself as she shifted her weight just enough so Miyuki couldn't feel how her heart had picked up upon that slight gesture.

"Miyuki! We were gonna get some light practice in you wanna join?!" A voice called out from the other side of the door. Ruining the moment as the two turned upon hearing the squeaking of the hinges.

Zono balked at the site before him. Unsure of what to make of it as he stared at Tonya who was still leaning against Miyuki with their fingers still interlocked. A bright blush crossed his face as the huge boy didn't know what to do in this moment. Protesting could be heard behind him as Kuramochi managed to push past the taller boy and into the room. Wanting to see what the fuss was about. His face falling upon seeing it was just Tonya and Miyuki being their usual selves.

"Oi…does Coach know you're here?" Kuramochi asked. Pointing at Tonya who nodded.

"Yep. Uncle knows I was helping Kazuya move back in." She grinned. "Just promise me you guys will take good care of little Z—" A hand clamped over her mouth. Making Kuramochi wonder what she was about to say as Miyuki looked up at the girl.

"If you finish that sentence I will tell Sawamura that you personally offered to give him private lessons when it comes to pitching." Miyuki threatened as he removed his hand from her mouth.

"Fine. Buzzkill." Tonya pouted as her phone went off. The two standing up at that moment as Miyuki grabbed his practice bag. Waiting to see if Tonya wanted to tag along or not. "Shit."

"What?" Kuramochi asked as Zono managed to regain his composure.

"I gotta go. Team meeting. I swear I hate this time of year." Tonya griped as she clicked her phone screen off. Following the guys out of the room.

"Leaving already?" All of the guys couldn't help but stare at their captain. Noting the disappointment in his tone as he looked down at the short girl before him.

"Yeah. I'll come back tonight before heading home. Gotta get in enough harassment to last till next we meet." Tonya called over her shoulder as she made her way down the stairs.

It took a lot to keep her eyes forward. Knowing that if she turned back around Miyuki would give her those damn puppy dog eyes and then she'd never want to leave. While she wouldn't mind, her team would come and hunt her down just like they did last year around this time. Shivering at the mere memory of last year as she headed up by the school gate. Only to see Riko leaning against the wall grinning at her.

"What? No kicking and screaming this year?" Riko teased as she pushed off the wall and fell in stride with her friend.

"Let's just get this damn thing over with." Tonya groaned. Shoving her hands into her pocket as Riko looped an arm around her neck. Watching the two leave?

'I wonder why Minako-chan wanted me to give this to Tetsu-san.' Kawakami thought to himself as he looked at the letter in his hand.

_._._

Miyuki couldn't help but feel like something was up as he and the guys walked along the street. After the mini practice session, the third years had come to collect a specific set of guys. Mainly the ones that had attended Miyuki's birthday part. When questioned why they suddenly wanted to hang out, the underclassmen were simply told the girls wanted to apologize for all the embarrassing and awful stuff they'd put the guys through on Miyuki's birthday. The fact that Tonya hadn't said a word to Miyuki had set off red flags in his head right away. But he went along with it regardless. Not having much of anything else to do at the moment. And secretly hoping he'd get to spend a little more time with Tonya before the two had to be separated again.

"Huh? Wait, why are we going to Kitigawa?" Miyuki asked. Recognizing the school immediately as the other turned to him.

"This is where the invite told us to go." Tetsu shrugged as they headed in.

"Is it me or does anyone else notice the heavy foot traffic?" Jun asked. Seeing a lot of people coming and going. Most of them guys.

"Makes you wonder just what exactly we got invited to." Ryosuke grinned as they made their way around the main building. Following the signs that seemed to be posted outside.

"Cosplay Café?" Haruichi read off the really bright and sparkly sign that was posted outside the cafeteria.

The boys were definitely surprised when they walked into the building. All the girls of the softball team were dressed in some kind of cosplay costume. There were two girls to each section. Sporting a costume that went along with the theme of their section. Now they understood why most of the people coming and going were guys. A one stop shop to see your secret fantasy brought to life.

"Welcome to the Cosplay Café dear friends of Seido." The boys turned to see Lily smiling at them. Dressed in a kimono with part of her hair down for once.

"What exactly is going on?" Kawakami asked as he looked around. Regretting having ever turned over the letter to Tetsu.

"Well, it's a tradition of the clubs to host events like this in order to raise extra money. We do a café every year and we send out polls through the school and have them pick from a preapproved list of costumes what they'd like to see us dressed as. The ones with the most votes have to wear that costume. As you can see we have a variety to suit the needs of whatever our customers like. From those who love kimonos, to cat girls, to warrior heroines and villainesses, and of course the classic maid." Lily grinned. Motioning to the most popular area of the room. Working it? Tonya and Riko.

Upon seeing the two, Kuramochi and Sawamura did their best to contain their snickers. Holding on to each other as Miyuki tried not to stare. He found it hard to believe that the girl who was usually kicking his ass and looking so heartless when she played was all smiles and looked so….adorable. That's right. Miyuki thought she looked adorable. A word that had not been in his vocabulary till now. She was in a French maid outfit that had a slightly fluffy skirt and off the shoulder top. Complete with head bonnet, apron, and she was even wearing white stockings and black low heeled shoes to complete the look.

"It's rude to stare." Chris whispered. Nudging Miyuki as the boy finally closed his slightly open mouth. He gave a silent nod of thanks to the older boy, glad no one else had caught him staring.

"Damnit. I wish Rei would just grow a backbone sometimes." Lily sighed as she looked to the small pitcher. She'd been once again cornered by a group of older guys. Lily was just glad Rei had been voted to wear a kimono like her. Anything that was even remotely revealing would've gotten the quiet girl in big trouble. With Rei being the Lolita type, she was one of the more popular ones. Add that with her shy nature and it just made guys want to treat her like a doll. Which often got her into situations like she was in now.

Gritting his teeth, Jun scratched his head as he made his way towards the shy girl. Saying something to scare off her pursuers before taking a seat in her section. Doing his best to act like there wasn't a light blush on his face as Rei thanked him. Tetsu couldn't help but smile as he walked over and sat across from Jun, making sure he didn't seriously hurt someone. Lily just giggled at the sight as she went back to work. The others all shared a look before making their way to the maid section. Taking up a free table for just their group alone.

"Welcome Masters." Tonya said in her most chipper tone. Not realizing who it was that had sat down till she opened her eyes. "Gah! What the hell are you guys doing here?" She hissed.

"Oh, so you guys made it." Riko called out as she walked over. Freezing instantly when the brunette turned to look at her.

"Which one of you told them?" Tonya growled as she glared at Riko. Fearing for her life, Riko ducked behind Kawakami since he was the closest. The poor boy turned beet red as he did his best to stay calm.

"Lily sent the invite. She wanted to apologize to them since we kind of had an unfair advantage over them in Seven Deadly Sins." Riko squeaked. Making the boy she was hiding behind turn even redder. Amazed that the usually loud third baseman could sound so cute and scared.

"Why the need to hide this from us Tonya?" Miyuki asked in that annoying tone of his. He leaned on to his hand as he grinned at his friend. Loving how she couldn't look him in the eyes at the moment.

"Because it's embarrassing." Tonya huffed. A slight blush on her face. "I hate doing this. I'm always stuck in this damn maid outfit!"

"Oh but you look so cute!" Miyuki cooed. Laughing harder when he saw the girl just barely restrain herself from hitting him. He knew he'd pay for it when she came back to the dorms later. But he couldn't pass up this chance to tease her just a bit when she couldn't exactly do anything back or risk losing business.

"I think you look nice Grey-chan." Haruichi smiled at the girl. Helping to relax her a bit.

"Thank you Kominato-kun." She returned his smile. Finally getting over her initial embarrassment as she got out her notepad. "So what can I get you guys for drinks to start with?"

"Shouldn't you be addressing us as Master?" Kuramochi snickered. Causing Tonya's eyebrow to tick in irritation. Miyuki's snickers didn't help the situation any. Yep, he was definitely in for it later when they were alone.

"You know Kuramochi, you're not much bigger than me. I'd be more than happy to let Ryo-san borrow this uniform to put you in." Tonya smirked. The shortstop froze immediately, glancing towards Ryosuke who was looking from Tonya to Kuramochi.

"Did you forget I'm taller and wider than you?" Kuramochi countered. Hoping to sway Ryosuke away from whatever he was thinking about.

"It's a costume on me. It'll be lingerie on you." Tonya's Chesire Cat grin appeared on her lips. Giving Kuramochi the chills as he turned to Ryosuke. Seeing him brighten up at a certain word.

"I may take you up on that offer Tonya-chan." Ryosuke smirked. Sending the shortstop into a cold sweat as Tonya left the boys under Riko's care.

Despite the initial rocky start, the guys found themselves enjoying the setting of the café. It was a different sight to see the girls out of uniform and just enjoying themselves. A few were even really getting into their roles. Putting on shows for their customers while the others made sure to keep the peace. More than once a couple guys had tried to get handsy and a tray to the back of the head had quickly stopped that. Suddenly, the warning under the sign at the entrance made sense now. Kitigawa softball team is not responsible for any bodily harm that you may incur upon entering. Hands and feet to yourself please.

"I believe that your plan is having the desired effect." Riko called out in passing from where Tetsu and Lily were playing shogi. The kimono section had slowed down a bit and had given the two time to get a game in.

"What did she mean by that?" Tetsu asked. Looking up from the board to Lily who was smiling to herself.

"Oh nothing." The girl giggled as she turned back to the game, making her move. Effectively backing Tetsu into a corner and drawing his focus back to the game.

Across the room, Miyuki was doing his best to remain nonchalant. Despite the jealously surging through him at the moment. He couldn't help but feel irked every time Tonya smiled at someone. Laughed at something they said. And every time he heard her say 'Yes Master'—it was like nails on a chalkboard to him. The biggest annoyance though? The way the guys stared at her. He knew that look all too well. It was the same look Ryosuke had given Kuramochi. He'd even seen Chris give it to Sawamura more than once, though not quite as openly. It was the look of an animal that was in heat and looking for a mate to release that sexual tension on.

"Miyuki calm down or you'll break the glass." Kuramochi whispered in his ear. Miyuki snapped back to his senses and let his glass go. He hadn't even realized how hard he'd been squeezing the thing in his hand. "You okay?"

"Yeah. Fine." Miyuki waved off. Kuramochi's bullshit detector went off, but he wouldn't push it. At least not in front of the others. Knowing he'd have an easier time dragging the answer out of him when they were alone.

The catcher did his best to actually try and enjoy their little outing. Tonya could handle herself. He knew that better than anyone. She was just doing her job and being polite. Which was a rare sight. Besides, if she caught him acting jealous again she'd never let him live it down. Taking a calming breath, he turned his attention back to his table. Ryosuke was currently teasing Kuramochi with how he was slowly putting a spoonful of his ice cream float in his mouth. Making the poor short stop hot and bothered. Haruichi and Furuya were sharing bites from each other's pieces of cake. The only reason this was able to happen was because the usually jealous older Kominato was preoccupied. Chris was currently cradling Sawamura's head as the boy just cried silently. The idiot had eaten his desert so fast that he'd given himself a brain freeze. Just as Miyuki was about to poke fun at the boy, the sight of black in the corner of his eye drew his attention.

"Touch me again and I'll slam this tray into your damn face." Tonya hissed. Jerking free from one of the guys grasp.

"Now is that anyway to treat a guest?" One of the guys chortled. Reaching for Tonya again.

"Yeah. Aren't you supposed to smile and say 'Yes Master'?" His buddy laughed. Licking his lips as he looked the girl up and down.

"You're supposed to take good care of your Masters aren't you?" The third one said. A dark glint in his eyes.

Miyuki had enough. He got up from his seat and made his way over to the group. Walking right up to Tonya and flipping the tray of sweets out of her hand and at the guys. Giving them quite the face full. Tonya shot Miyuki a look. She wasn't mad, but she was curious as to what the hell he was doing. Miyuki just gave her his usual annoying grin as the other guys cleaned their faces off. All three of them standing up together as Miyuki reached out and gently pushed Tonya behind him.

"What the hell is your problem buddy?" One hollered. Taking a step towards a smirking Miyuki.

"The lady seemed like she was in distress. I was merely saving her from you ogres." He smarted off in typical Miyuki fashion.

"Trying to start something pretty boy?" One of the others hissed. Cracking his knuckles as Miyuki held his ground.

"I'd rethink picking a fight when the odds aren't in your favor." Chris warned. Slowly standing up. The rest of the Seido boys following his lead.

"Pigs like you should be left to wallow in the mud where you belong." Ryosuke said softly. Opening his eyes just a fraction. Pinkie may be small but he could be scary when need be.

"It's been awhile since I've gotten into a brawl. I hope I'm not too rusty." Kuramochi laughed. Cracking his knuckles as he rolled his neck about.

Kawakami, Sawamura, Furuya, and Haruichi weren't brawlers, but they would stand up for their friends. The four ready to back up the others should they require the help. Upon seeing how badly they were outnumbered, not to mention the looks they were getting, the three reluctantly left.

While the rest of Seido made sure the three ruffians left, Miyuki took this chance to latch on to Tonya's wrist and drag her out of there. Surprising the girl as she struggled to keep up with his fast paced walk. He led them out of the cafeteria and into the hallway connecting to the main building. Just as they crossed the threshold into the main building, Tonya yanked her hand free. Watching as Miyuki came to a stop himself. Still facing forward with his shoulders slumped.

"Kazuya what's wrong? And why did you have to pull so damn hard?" Tonya complained as she rubbed her sore wrist.

"It was pissing me off." Miyuki hissed. Refusing to turn around. His hands clenching into fists.

"Well, yeah they were pissing me off too. I was about to kick them out myself." She placed her hands on her hips. Not understanding why he was so mad. Sure she expected some level of anger, but she believed he was over reacting just a bit.

"Not just them. All of those bastards." He said through clenched teeth.

"Huh?" Tonya tilted her head. A little lost as to where he was going with this. Miyuki quickly turned and backed Tonya up against the wall. His hands on either side of her as Tonya wondered what was wrong. She'd never seen him so angry before. Not even the time when he'd found out she'd hid the truth about her knees from him. "Kazuya, talk to me." She reached up and placed a hand on his arm. Feeling just how tense the boy was.

"The way they were all looking at you. Like they were going to jump you at any second. Like they had the fucking right to just reach out and touch you." Miyuki growled. Resting his forehead on the crook of her neck as he wrapped his arms around her. Pressing himself closer to her. "Like you weren't even human. Just some sex object that they could use to fulfill their sick fantasies. I couldn't take it anymore. You have no idea how hard it was to not hit those bastards just now. If I could, I would make you change out of this outfit and into normal clothing before you went back out."

"I thought I looked cute though?" Tonya reminded him lightly of his own words. Hoping to make him feel better. Wanting to hear that annoying laugh of his to know he was okay.

"Too cute." Miyuki admitted as he lifted his head. Looking her in the eyes for the first time since he'd dragged her out there. "And I don't like letting others see you like this."

Unable to stop himself, Miyuki moved down and placed his lips on hers. His entire being just wanting to be close to her. Miyuki wasn't normally a greedy person. But for some reason when it came to Tonya, he wanted to claim her for himself. He didn't want anyone else near her. He didn't want any guy looking at her. He didn't want any other guy touching her. He didn't want anyone to move in on the first thing he'd deemed precious enough to try and claim as his own. And he was doing his damnedest to let her know with this kiss. Slowly, and much too soon for his liking, he pulled back. Realizing much too late that he'd acted purely on impulse. And for all he knew he could've seriously fucked things up between them. Unwilling to see the look upon her face or hear what she had to say next, Miyuki stepped away from her. Turning quickly and heading back down the hall.

"Kazuya! Hey wait!" Tonya called after him. But Miyuki was already heading for the emergency exit. He hit the door hard. Not looking back as he headed out of the school and away from her. Needing time to think.

Gotta say, I love writing cliff hangers lol XD. Despite how much you all hate me for it. So now that the two brunette bakas are on the same page where shall things go? For now only I know and man does this have so many possibilities!

Miyuki: you just love to torture us don't you?

Tonya: least you don't belong to her. *shoots writer evil look*

Chaos: hush you two! With the way you both are this can't be a simple love story! Especially with your first love being baseball/fastpitch!

Both: True *nods heads*

Anyways *glares at the interrupters* now that I'm finally getting the hang of my new job I should be able to get updates a bit faster. No promises though. So for now I hope you enjoyed and can't wait to hear all the threats I'll receive for this one hehe
