The next day proved to be sheer chaos. The vampyrs were gunning against the humans, wanting revenge on Tucky and her crew. The guards had segregated everyone, making things difficult for Nicky as she didn't know how Morello was doing, if she had recovered and if she was now going to avoid Nicky because of what she was. Nicky paced up and down, while Piper just sat and watched. She had tried to talk to Nicky all through, but had given up when she realized all her attempts were futile. So if Nicky wanted to worry in vain, she would just let her. Alex hadn't woken up yet, so Piper was waiting. She still needed to talk to Alex about Seraya, Kubra and them.
She was reading a book, just before yard time. They were starving the vampyrs because they didn't know who had bitten the humans. And with human blood, the vampyrs were much stronger, and therefore, harder to control. The only option was starving the rest of them. Piper wasn'r looking forward to yard time, she was already pretty weak and wanted to conserve whatever little energy she had left. Plus, she didn't feel like socializing.
She heard footsteps and looked up and saw a groggy Alex shuffle into her room and sit on her bunk.
"Well, look who's awake." She said, looking at her ex unwrap her hand to survey the damage. Her skin was bright pink, looking fresh and translucent from the lack of blood in her system. She grimaced and put her hand down, away from her sight. She looked at Piper with an "Oh well" expression.
"How are you feeling?" Piper asked, reaching over and taking her uninjured hand in hers, her thumb caressing the skin on top of her hand. Alex looked at their hands intertwined and then looked up at Piper. "Honestly, tired, pissed off and cranky." Alex looked around to make sure they were alone and barely whispered "If they find out why there was an attackā¦" Piper squeezed her hand. "We really need to figure out what to do. We can't just sit back until he finds some way to off us." She whispered, looking at Alex seriously, trying to gauge her reactions.
"We?" Alex said, with a small smile tugging her lips. "We." Piper said, smiling more widely. "We're inevitable Al. I think it's just a fact, not a thing we can do something about, you know?" Piper said, looking for more answers from Alex.
"I think the good sister is involved. But I don't know how to get answers out of her." Alex said, slowly, watching Piper. The blonde nodded. "Poussey may also have some contacts we can get information from, but with the current scene and segregation, I don't know how we're going to get any information." Piper said, seriously.
Alex smiled, despite herself. Piper always looked so cute being serious. It was almost like Alex would never expect the blonde to be serious or have a conversation like this, where their lives were up for grabs. She yanked their hands towards her, making Piper lurch forward and she pressed a soft kiss on her lips. Piper leaned back immediately, looking around to see if anyone had seen. Alex smiled and she smiled too. Just as she was leaning into Alex, they heard a whistle, signaling yard time. She sighed and got up. She waited for Alex to stand up and they met with a very frustrated, tired and cranky Nicky.
The threesome headed outside with Nicky cracking jokes about Alex's hand. She called it "The Pink Thing" and referred to it as another person altogether. "Does it hurt?" Nicky had asked. "Nope. It's wiggly though." Alex said, examining her hand, trying to keep the bile down. "Like jello?" Nicky asked, her eyes wide as she stared at Alex's hand like it was a foreign object. "Yeah. Sorta." Alex had said, dropping her hand. The three of them sat in a corner, near the fence.
"Can we please not talk about it like that? It is your hand after all Alex!" Piper exclaimed, disgusted that the way the two of them were talking.
"Awww are you squeamish Chapman?" Nicky asked with an evil glint in her eye. "Shut up Nicky." Piper said, shoving her slightly as Alex and Nicky laughed. It felt good to laugh. Alex wasn't sure of where she stood with Piper, but at this point she would take what she got. Piper looked at Alex and was happy that the brunette was laughing. They did need to formulate a plan. Nicky got up and went to throw some ball with some others and this was the perfect time for them to talk.
"So.. I was thinking of asking Sister Ingalls directly. Poussey is of no use to us right now since we can't get to her. A direct approach seems to be our only choice. What do you think?" Alex asked Piper.
Piper nodded in agreement. She wasn't sure because it was a huge risk taking a direct approach and she couldn't foresee the consequences, but they really didn't have a choice. They were cornered and Kubra was getting to them in too many angles. He seemed to want to take advantage of Alex's defenseless state and hurt and weaken her. She didn't know if it was just a payback game of torture or if the end game was actual death. She shuddered at the thought and Alex looked at her questioningly. She shook her head, preferring to sit in silence, not trusting her voice if she spoke. They sat there for the remainder of the night, occasionally chatting about nonsensical things, but also mentally thinking about if they should make the approach to the sister hostile or genuine. They didn't really know what side she fell on.
As they chatted, a memory came into Piper's head that made her grin. When Alex asked her what she was thinking, Piper grinned mischievously. "Remember Goa? When we were there for two nights in the summer and you had booked us that private cottage on an island just off the coast? I think there was one other island, and it was so hot. Of course, you were uncomfortable, but you really wanted me to enjoy the sun after spending winter in England."
Alex hummed and smiled at the memory.
"Pipes, please come back inside." Alex all but begged her blonde girlfriend. The air conditioning was on at full blast, but the humid heat of the Goan summer was stifling. Piper enjoyed running outside getting nice and brown after being slathered with sunscreen, but Alex was almost being burnt, despite spending all her time indoors. It was almost as if the moon burnt her, it was so hot no matter what time of the day.
Alex stood three feet inside of the room as she watched Piper run up the steps into the cool room. She was panting and walked straight to the jug of water and emptied it down her throat. It was a hot, hot day. Sweat mixed with water trickled down her neck and Alex couldn't resist anymore. She walked up to her and licked the drops off Piper's neck, making the blonde squeal with laughter. She turned around and put her hands around Alex's neck and pulled the brunette in for a kiss. "Missed me?" she whispered against the vampyr's lips and Alex's answer was to deepen the kiss, pick Piper up and carry her to the bed. She dumped Piper on it and clambered on top. Alex was uncomfortable yes, but nothing, nothing, could keep her away from the smiling blonde.
Three hours later, a sated vampyr and an excited human made it out to go to the mainland to a club that was exclusively for vampyrs and humans. You could only enter it if you were in the company of a vampyr. It was called Tilt. Once they went in, Alex made her way to the bar, while Piper made her way to the dance floor. Alex asked for some beer and watched her girlfriend move to the beat. She frowned when some other woman came and started dancing with her. She resisted the urge to step in and intervene, she wanted to see how far it would go with Piper. She leaned back and watched, while Piper danced with the other woman, seeming to not know that Alex was watching. As they grinded, Piper opened her eyes and looked straight at Alex. She allowed the other woman to run her hands all over Piper's body while Piper cupped the back of the woman's head, all the while dancing seductively and staring at Alex. Alex looked murderous, but also extremely turned on.
When Alex saw the sliver of skin that indicated that Piper's top had been lifted and the woman was actually touching skin, she vaulted off the barstool and walked towards the duo, slow and deliberate. She grinned at Piper and cocked her head to the side, gaining the other woman's attention. "Back off." Was all Alex said and the woman looked at her and slunk away. She looked back at Piper who was paying no attention to her and then walked away.
"You liked that huh? Another woman touching you?" Alex all but growled. "Why Alex, are you jealous?" Piper asked coyly, knowing full well that Alex was. "No." Alex said and dragged her to the bathroom where she made sure Piper screamed her name and had completely forgotten about that woman.
"For the record, I still maintain I was not jealous." Alex said, smirking slightly. "Bullshit." Piper said, her eyes twinkling like the stars above them.

I'm sorry if this chapter is a little messy, it's taking some time to get back on track. Anyway, see you soon!
