Lucy's POV

Hi, I haven't written in this journal for a while now so I thought maybe it's time to start again. Well since the last time I've written in it Harry has gotten accepted to a school called Hogwarts and a man named Hagrid has come and taken us away from the Dursley's. Right now we are in a place called Diagon alley. It's a part of the wizarding world. There are so many things here, how could we not know any of this existed, (Oh yeah, the Dursley's)? Right now we are in this pub, (I don't know what it's called), eating. So I decided to write. Hagrid said that he will take us to Gringotts, a wizarding bank, when we are done eating. That's all I have to say for now, I'll write more tomorrow. Buy!

Lucy M. Potter

"What are you writing Lucy?" I heard Harry ask me once I closed my notebook Ms. Figs gave me for my birthday.

"Just about what has been going on since we left the Dursley's. I want to be able to look back and not forget about anything." I told him looking up from putting the book and pencil in my bag.

"Just don't let it fall into the wrong hands. Don't want anybody knowin' all yer secrets do we." Hagrid said to me. I would never let that happen, my journal will stay were nobody can find it.

"Hagrid, where will I be staying when we get to Hogwarts?"

"Well we'll have to talk to Dumbledore 'bout that."

"Do you know how our parents died?" I blurted out, I didn't mean to but I wanted to know. And so did harry by the look on his face.

Hagrid pushed his bowl away and started to explain how not all wizards are good and that years ago there was one that went as bad as you can. Hagrid had trouble saying his name but when he did he whispered it. Voldemort, that's what his name was, (it's a strange name). He explained that He killed our parents and tried to kill Harry but didn't succeed. That's why Harry is famous in the wizarding world.

"Where was I when this happened?" I asked Hagrid.

"You where sound asleep in your crib when I showed up. I gotta say you where a heavy sleeper, which I guess was a really good thing."

"She still is a heavy sleeper. The only thing that keeps her awake is if a storm has already started before she falls asleep." Harry told Hagrid.

"Yer afraid of storms?" I timidly nodded yes.

"That's nothin' to be ashamed of. A lot of kid's yer age are. I know I was."

"You were?" I asked looking up surprised.

"Yes I was." Harry and I looked at each other smiling. I was glad to know that even someone as big as Hagrid was once afraid of storms.

Once we were done eating Hagrid took us to Gringrotts.

Gringotts is amazing. It's big and the walls and ceiling are detailed with designs. It's truly amazing. There are goblins that are the workers. They don't look very nice to me though. I stayed close to Harry's side, I was in-between him and Hagrid. We walked up this one goblin that really didn't look nice. Hagrid told him that we would like to take money out of our vault. The goblin asked if we had our key. I looked between Harry and Hagrid confused. Hagrid then pulled out a key from his pocket and handed it to the goblin. He then pulled out an envelope and wisped something that I couldn't hear to him. The goblin gave the key back and we followed another one to this cart on a track. It didn't take long till we stopped, the goblin called out vault 687. Hagrid handed him the key to open it. After it opened Harry and I stared in awe at the piles of coins.

"Yer didn't think yer parents would leave yer with nothin' did yeh." He filled up two bags with the coins and handed one to each of us.

"Are we done here?" I asked as we got back in the cart.

"No, there is one more vault I need to visit. Dumbledore's orders yeh see." It didn't take that long till we were at the next one. Vault 713 the goblin said.

"What's in there?" Harry asked Hagrid when we stopped.

"Can't tell yeh. I'm sworn to secrecy." Hagrid answered. Hagrid was blocking the way when the vault opened, so we couldn't see what it was.

Once we finished we headed back to the start, exiting back into Diagon alley.

"So where do we go next?" Harry asked Hagrid as we walked down the alley.

"Well yeh need books, potions, quills, parchment paper, robes, and a wand." Hagrid listed off. The first place we went since it was close was Madam Malkin's for robes.

When we walked in there was already a boy being fitted for his so we stood over by the door waiting. When it was Harry's turn to get fitted Hagrid said he would be waiting outside. Madam Malkin scribbled down his sizes, as her magical tap measurer did the measuring itself. I didn't take that long till Harry was up on a stool in front of a mirror with robes on.

"They fit great. There not to lose, but not to tight. They fit perfectly." Harry said while turning to Madam Malkin.

"Wonderful. You get changed while I finish up the rest of your robes." She said disappearing behind a curtain.

We Left Madam Malkin's with two sets of robes, and the rest will be delivered to us when they are done. Next was Flourish and Blotts for Harry's books.

"What books do you need?" I asked when we walked in. We decided that I would find half while he found the other half.

"You are looking for The slandered book of spells by Miranda Goshawk, A history of magic by Bathilda Bagshot, Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffling, and A beginner's guide to Transfiguration by Emeric Switch." He said handing me the list of book I need to look for. We then slit up and started looking. My first two books were easy to find. They were both on the first level on stands. The second book was on a bottom shelf on a wall. The third book was the hardest to get, it was on a shelf I couldn't reach.

"Need some help?" I turned to see a pretty lady coming up to me.

"Yes, please. It's the transfiguration book." I told her. She got it down easily.

"Beginners guide to Transfiguration. Aren't you a little young to be going to Hogwarts. What are you 9?" She said handing me the book.

"I'm 8 actually. There not for me, there for my brother. He's starting this year." I told her.

"Well I wish your brother good luck."

"Thanks, buy." I picked up the books and went down to meet Harry. We got in line to pay for the books. When we got the counter the guy just stopped and started at us. We didn't notice Hagrid come us behind us till he spoke.

"Yeh find the books all righ'?" All three of us looked at him, I smiled.

"Yeah, we were just about to for the books and come out and meat you." Harry answered.

"What's the book?" I asked noticing it.

"It's a book on magical creatures. It's the next one in the collection. I noticed they had it and, well I need it." Hagrid said showing me the front. It was pretty and had a weird creature on it.

Harry and I turned back around and paid the money due. The man bagged the books and handed them to us. We waited for Hagrid, and then walked out.

"I still need a cauldron, glace or crystal phials, telescope, brass scales and a wand." I looked at all the signs to see what was close.

"Well it looks like Potage's cauldron shop is next." I said pointing to the sign.

Hagrid waited outside again, while we went in.

"What can I do for you?" A man said coming up to us.

"I need a Pewter standard size 2 cauldron." Harry told the man.

"Ahh, starting Hogwarts are we." We watched as he went to a wall and got a cauldron down. We followed him over to a desk and Harry paid the money.

"Thank you." I waved back at the man while Harry carried the cauldron out. It was heavy, I could tell. After that we got the phials (glace), telescope, and scales.

"Now I need a wand."

"Yeh need to go to Ollivander's then. While yer doin' that I will be getting something. I'll meet yeh outside." Hagrid said leaving us at Ollivander's entrance.

When we walked inside it looked like there was no one even there. Harry called out and a man on a ladder appeared out of one of the many rows.

"I was wondering when I would see you in here mister Potter. And miss Potter if I'm correct." I shook my head yes.

He said that it was like yesterday when our parents were buying their first wands. He grabbed a wand box from one of the shelves took it out and gave it to Harry. Harry gave it a wave and wands flew off a shelf. I stared at where the wands were in shock then at Harry.

"I'm going to stay back here, if you don't mind." I said taking a few steps back.

"Smart idea." I heard Harry mumble.

Ollivander then handed Harry another one. This time a small vase of with flowers exploded. Ollivander then went down a row pulled out a box and stood there a few seconds. He came back, carefully opened the box and gave the wand to Harry. The lights the started to flicker and there was a glow. It only lasted a few seconds but I was really weird.

"What was that?" I asked with wide eyes. He explained how Harry was destined for this wand when its brother gave Harry his scare.

There was then a sudden taping on a window behind me. We all turned to see Hagrid.

"Happy birthday Harry." He said holding up a pretty snowy owl.

After we left Ollivander's we walked back down Diagon ally the way we came.

"What do we do now that I have everything?" Harry asked Hagrid.

"Well yer train leaves tomorrow for yer two to go to Hogwarts. Till then we talk, eat, and sleep."

We walked to where we would be staying for the night. We had two rooms, one for Hagrid and the other for Harry and I. We ate supper, and then went to our rooms to go to sleep. Both of us were too tired to say anything except goodnight.

I couldn't wait for tomorrow.
