In the Stars

A/N: Hey guys! I'm sorry this has taken so long! Things have been hectic to say the least. I've been spending all semester applying for college and WOW that's a lot of work! O.o So anyway, once again I apologize. Enjoy! :)

. . .

"Princess, watch out!"

My hand quickly flies forward to block the sudden whirlwind of flowers. The petals and leaves bounce uselessly off of my forearm and I look up at the stunned princess. Her cheeks are flushed bright red and she looks utterly confused that I am standing beside her. Despite the fact I've been talking to her for the past three minutes.

"J-J-Jupiter? What are you doing here?"

Trying to take you to your training lessons which you so obviously need. That's the answer the Queen wants me to give but instead I offer the girl a soft smile. "Nevermind me, what are you doing spacing out like that? Thinking about someone?"

The blush covering her cheeks deepens. "Wh-Wh-Why would you think that?" She forces out a laugh before turning away. "I have to go to training with you? What else could I possibly be doing? I just decided to take the scenic route." And slowly she begins walking. In the wrong direction.

Of course. She's so flustered. Mars and Mercury have told me what this means. Her mind has been on Endymion. I laugh inwardly and call out once again. "Princess!"

She turns, trying to feign annoyance. It doesn't work. A smile still dominates her slightly pink face as she crosses her arms over her white dress. "What?"

"The training room's this way."

"Hmm?" I turn into my pillow, trying to ignore the beeps of my alarm clock. A new day. A new school. My stomach turns and pull my blankets tighter for just a second before swinging them away and pushing myself up. As much as I would like to dwell in my dreams of Princess Serenity-it's not exactly practical to say the least. After all princesses don't exist in this world...but...fate does. The words of fate that came crawling from my dream remind me why I am here.

Tokyo. Right by Juuban. I don't know why but something about here just screams you need to be here. Maybe it's a princess. But probably not.

I sneak a glance out my window and sigh. Looks like a storm is brewing.

. . .

"Wow! That looks so yummy!"

The sound of a foreign voice causes me to flinch as I turn over my shoulder. I am met with a smiling face and blonde pigtails as the girl stares appreciately at my bento box. "Hmm?" It's the girl from before the one who was almost hit by a truck in her laughter as she crossed the street. She goes here?

CRACK.

From behind me a metal bat slaps against a ball. The sound of the impact is enough to cringe and out of habit I glance back, searching for the ball. It sounded like a hard hitter. But instead of sailing into the chainlink of the fence it sails high and easily scales the fence. Directly toward the blonde behind me. I push my bento box to the bench and jump up. The girl gasps and huddles into herself-forgetting the most important part. Moving.

I catch the ball, the white material stinging against my skin. The boys who hit it cheer, appreciating my catch but I can't help but feel anger wash over my body. My body moves with me as I swing my arm back and throw the ball back. Farther than necessary. "Watch where you're hitting!" Assholes.

Sure, maybe it's a little too mad to be getting at a few boys miscalculating their hit. But I couldn't help it. I just had some unreasonable urge to protect the girl who has managed to almost get hurt both times I've seen her.

"Th-thanks."

I turn at the sound of her breathless voice. Good. She's only shaken.

My lips turn up in a half smile as I return to the bench and pull my bento back into my lap. "You're the girl from this morning, right? You shouldn't space out like that." The words taste familiar on my tongue and I cannot help but feel like I've said them in a similar situation.

That girl has superhuman strength. That's what her friend with the weird glasses told her anyway. She's probably going to leave me after that demonstration of my strength. Whatever. It doesn't matter what she thinks of me so long as I find my purpose for being here. I take my mixed rice ball up to my mouth and hear a strangled moan.

When I glance over my shoulder the blonde is still there. Salivating this time.

"That looks really delicious," she mutters, a soft blush covering her cheeks as she looks at me over the bench.

Strange girl, I decide. "Y-yeah," I murmur, pulling it once more to my mouth.

Another strangled moan.

"D-do you want some?" I attempt, using my left hand to hold the box out to her. If it's food she wants... A smile crosses her face and her blue eyes light up as if I just told her she could have a puppy as she jumps up and hops over the bench with the elegance of a ballerina. If she's this able how come she wasn't able to protect herself earlier?

"Really?" She pushes her own lunch bag out of her lap."B-But I shouldn't that would be rude!"

Suit yourself. I'm about to pull my bento away when her hand shoots out and stops me. "Oh no! My hand's out of control!" Her squeals are loud and she laughs as she covers her face with her free hand. She quickly plucks out a mixed rice ball and moves back to sit properly. The look on her face is of complete awe.

Awe? Over a rice ba- "Thank you for the food!" And with another laugh she takes her first bite. Upon swallowing another squeal escapes her system. "This is so good!"

"It's not that hard to make," I say simply, turning back to my lunch. She's a strange girl indeed, becoming happy at the strangest of things. She almost vaguely reminds me of...Princess Serenity from my dreams.

"You made all this yourself?"

"Y-yeah?" My response comes out as a question. Shouldn't most girls know how to cook?

"That's so cool!" She swoons, offering me a large smile before ducking back down. "Oh! I forgot to tell you! Your bento and bag are so cute! Where did you buy them?"

My hearts sinks a little bit. The lunchbox belonged to my mother before she passed, but there's no way I can tell her something that private. "U-Um I found the bento in my old house...but I made the bag myself," I offer weakly, hoping to settle the girl's questions easily.

She nods knowingly, chewing more of the rice ball. Another second and another exclamation flies from her mouth. "And your earrings! They're so pretty!" Her blonde hair bobs up and down as she nods to herself. Maybe congratulating herself for being so nice.

I gape at her. I want to ask why she's being so nice when her friend earlier was trying to warn her from staying awa-

"I have to go to training with you? What else could I possibly be doing? I just decided to take the scenic route." And slowly she begins walking. In the wrong direction.

No! Is it possible? She speaks-something about how she herself is no good at cooking and I hear it in her voice. Not the inability to cook part. The other part the more important part. Can this girl be Serenity?

Can she be the reason why I'm here?
