Chapter One

I have decided to "Americanize" the way each character is addressed, just to be more comfortable. I also changed the main character's name. Hope you guys don't mind!

What does Mr. Kanazawa want?

I'm not very sociable at school and honestly the last thing I want is to get attention from anybody especially the teacher!

My palms felt a bit sweaty even though I know that whatever it is, it shouldn't be that bad.

Go you! Always thinking the worst things!

I had received an email earlier from him asking to meet at his office during lunch for a bit. Of course since he didn't specify what we were going to discuss, I was already a step ahead imagining all the possible scenarios.

Did I fail an exam?

Am I on probation?

Am I going to get kicked out?

Ok ok ok ok

Stop! Just stop!

I took a deep breath then tried to exhale for as long as I could and I reached the office door realizing that it was slightly open.

I could hear some talking so I quietly knocked and then after two seconds I opened the door and walked in slowly, seeing Mr. Kanazawa leaning on his desk talking to someone else.

He saw me come in and exclaimed, "Ah Arisa thanks for coming!"

All I could do was nod, I couldn't trust myself with my voice. God forbid I let out a noise resembling a dying animal...

"This is Ryotaro! You have most likely seen him from the competition that has been going on for the past couple of months." He gestured to the person that was beside him and I looked up.

Nooo waaay...what's going on?

This guy was tall and had an athletic build with short dark hair. He raised his hand to shake it, "Hello, nice to meet you."

"The pleasure is mine," I said quickly as I shook hands with him. He smiled lightly, he didn't seem too pleased to be here like I was.

"Ok! Great!" Mr. Kanazawa said, "Now that you guys have met each other I can continue on with what I wanted to talk about."

We both looked at him attentively.

"Just because of the competition going on, the school board has decided to hold activities that will have the participants spending time with the music students to encourage each other and to do some peer evaluation. Ryotaro here has been paired with you for a couple of days and then he will be paired with someone else. How does that sound Arisa?"

wha.. nooooo oh god please noooooo

"Yea sure, that sounds cool." I managed to say with a quick nod.

Just a couple of days, I can do this.

"Great!" Mr. Kanazawa said. "You guys can start tomorrow and meet whenever you want. Use the practice rooms if you'd like. Alright?"

We both nodded.

"So we just play for each other and stuff?" I asked him. "Yea you'll play each other the pieces you are currently working on and then guide each other." He replied.

Alrightttttttt...

All I could manage was another nod.

"Sounds simple." Ryotaro said.

"Yup! Now you guys can go back to your classrooms, I have to meet with the other students." Mr. Kanazawa said.

Ryotaro and I walked out of the office together. "Let's meet in front of this bozo's office and then get a practice room okay?" He suddenly said looking bothered.

Omg bozo lolol

"Yea."

He nodded then walked down the hallway to go back to his class.

He looks so relaxed, what the heck.

I honestly hope this goes by fast, I don't want to embarrass myself...

The school bell interrupted my thoughts and reminded me about class starting soon.

"Ooof" I muttered under my breath. "It's time to go to classsssssssssss."
