A/N: First of all sorry for the 4 and a half months of nothing. I lost all inspiration in writing this story but I thought about it the other day and remembered I left it unfinished and realized that I am a horrible person for that especially for those of you who enjoyed my story but fear not a bittersweet moment will come sometime soon because I will be finishing this story out. Although I don't know how many more chapters I'm going to take to do it. Also sorry for the long a/n ENJOY!
Chapter 15
I sat quietly in the empty train car. I hadn't seen anyone since Cinder led me to the station. She told me to get off at the 7th stop and head south until I reached a building called Blanc.
"What reasons could she possibly have to rescue Doctor Serena?" I contemplated out loud. 'I hope the girls got my note. Hopefully they understand that this is something that I have to do.'
[Icarrus why are you so worried, after all we are going to save the Doctor.] Eve broke my concentration.
"I know but I'm just uneasy, I feel like something bad is going to happen." I stood up and started walking to the front of the car. Before I could open the door it slid open and Sun stood there.
"Icarrus?" He looked stunned. "What are you doing here?"
"I could say the same to you Sun." I laughed.
"So you didn't get captured? That's fantastic!" He shouted as he threw his hands on my shoulders.
"Captured? Sun what are you talking about?" I said in a worried tone and instantly Suns expression changed to a more somber one.
"The girls were kidnapped." He walked passed me and sat in one of the seats.
"When?" My voice trembled. "Sun, WHEN?"
"5 days ago." He put his hands over his face. "Everyone thought that you got taken too."
'Five days ago? That's when I left.' I thought. "But how? Why? Who. Did. It." My anger was starting to rise.
"You mean you don't know? Then what are you doing on THIS train?" Sun stood and walked quickly towards me. "Are you working with her? Are you working for Cinder Fall and the White Fang?" He poked his finger into my chest.
"Cinder Fall? I mean yeah she told me that Doctor Serena got kidnapped and asked me if I wanted to save her." I managed to spit out.
"It was HER Icarrus she kidnapped the girls and probably your doctor too! Yet here you are making your way to their hideout like some little errand boy and this whole time you didn't even have a clue." Suns posture shifted and he slumped against the wall.
I clenched my fists and gritted my teeth. 'I was being played. Used. Again' I screamed in my head. "NEVER AGAIN!" I shouted as I punched the wall denting it massively.
"ATTENTION PASSENGERS. WE WILL NOW BE STOPPING AT STATION 14. I REPEAT WE WILL NOW BE STOPPING AT STATION 14. THAT IS ALL" The train conductor said over the P.A.
"The 7th stop." Sun and I said at the same time then we looked at each other. We walked off the train and headed south. Eventually we made it to a large warehouse with Blanc written in white paint across the front.
"Should we knock?" Sun asked as I cocked my hand back and activated my entire new set of Anima Mortem, which I dubbed Renaissance Soul, and punched a massive hole into the door which Sun and I stepped through.
"So you're finally here." I heard a familiar voice. "My my my and you've brought the monkey as well. Perfect."
"CINDER! I'll make you pay for tricking me and kidnapping the people I care about!" I shouted as the dust cleared. In front of us stood what looked like a couple hundred men all armed.
"It sure looks like you pulled out all the stops just for us I'll take it as a compliment." Sun said as he started off towards them.
"Oh I didn't go this far just for you Monkey I did this so I could capture the experiment my father spent so much time getting started. I do thank the Schnee family for taking such an underhanded task and being our scape goat. I can't blame them though we did threaten the life of his only daughter." Cinder laughed and shouted. "I want the test subject alive." One of her goons whispered something in her ear. "Oh you can kill the monkey.
"Where are my friends?" I shouted at her.
"Behind me little Icarrus." She pointed her thumb behind her and a large curtain fell revealing Doctor Serena, Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang all chained up.
I rushed towards her and her goons rushed at me. I could feel my mind start to slip as I punched the first and stabbed the second.
[No Icarrus you can't lose it right now you still have to rescue our friends!] Eve shouted in my mind.
"It's too late Eve I'm no longer able to control my body and I fear my mind will be going soon as well." I whispered. I could hear sun behind me fighting for his life. "SUN! RESCUE THE GIRLS IT'S NOT SAFE ANYMORE IM LOSING IT HERE MAN. I CAN FEEL MY MIND SLIP AND THIS TIME IT'LL BE WORSE THAN BEFORE!"
"Oh you're right about that one my little pet." I looked up to see Cinder standing next to the girls with a knife up to Serena's' throat. "Say goodbye to you replacement of a son Doctor."
A single tear ran from Serena's' left eye and she smiled. Cinder showed a look of disgust and slit her neck. She held the knife up and stabbed it into her heart this time and left it there.
{SNAP} There is goes my last shred of sanity. I just hope Sun can get the girls out safely before I go berserk on everything.
I lunged forward stabbing, slicing, punching and kicking. Suddenly I felt feet push off of my shoulders and I looked up to see Sun launching himself off of me towards the girls. I swiped at his feet but missed. I let out a terrifying roar and charged onward once again. Time seemed to blur and the bodies kept coming at me. I could feel their blades cut my skin and their dust bullets exploding on my body but it did nothing to stop me let alone slow me down. The blood seemed to rain down on me as I continued cutting people down.
]SO MANY DEAD AND SO MANY MORE INJURED icarrus DO YOU THINK THE GIRLS WILL ACCEPT YOU AFTER WHAT THEY SEE YOU HAVE BECOME? wHaT wOuld SHE tHink aBouT yOU? does IT EVEN MATTER noW? no NOTHING matters now that WE HAVE lost DOCTOR SERENA [Eves voice pounded in my head all distorted and panicked.
"NOW THAT WE HAVE LOST OUR MOTHER, WE ARE NOW FREE TO BECOME THE MONSTER!" My voice became that of mine and Eves mixed as I screamed.
I looked up to see a large circle had formed around me and no one made any movements towards me. I stood there for a minute before a part of the circle opened and Cinder stepped out. She held her blades in her hands and walked slowly towards me until she stood inches away from me. She lifted one of her blades and ran it across my chest leaving a large cut and blood trail. She took a couple steps back and got into her stance.
"Well Icarrus I have taken the most precious thing in this world from you and you stand there and let me wound you further. Have you given up?" She taunted. "Or do I have to kill the girls as well? Or maybe just one? So which one? The one you claim to love or Serena's Daughter?" She shouted snapping me out of my daze.
I roared once again and in an instant I was in front of her throwing a punch only to have her parry it away easily.
what is she talking about eve? did serena really have a daughter? i don't know icarrus, i can't remember but i feel like she is telling the truth. maybe you might know but its locked away somewhere in the furthest reached of your mind. then help me find it eve.
Every punch and kick I threw she dodged by a hairs width and she cut me every time. They were shallow cuts but they were everywhere and most of them were directly onto one she had already made.
we found it icarrus. good let's see what she was talking about.
{I sat on my bed in the facility it was my 5th birthday or so Doctor Serena told me. She said since she didn't know my real birthday she chose the day I arrived at the facility. She made a big deal about it and I had cake and presents but I was still sad.
"What's wrong subject 7?" She sat beside me and put her arms around me.
"You told me birthdays are when you are surrounded by friends and family but I don't have any. None of the other kids like me and all the doctors are mean, well except for you. So what does that make you to me?" I cried as she hugged me tighter.
"Well technically I'm your caretaker but I think of you as if you were my own child. You see subject seven I had twins, a boy and a girl, right before you arrived but unfortunately my son didn't survive." She started to cry. "In a way I feel as if you were my second chance to have a son but not as a replacement."
"What was his name and did your daughter live? Huh doctor? What was her name?" I asked curious.
"My sons name was Sebastian and my Daughter is actually here right now. I brought her so you'd have some company on your birthday would you like to meet her?" Doctor Serena wiped her eyes and stopped crying. I nodded my head furiously. "Just give me a minute let me go get her."
She walked out of the room and a couple minutes later she walked in with a little girl in her arms. I looked at the child and smiled.
"Wow doctor she has red hair that's so cool!" I pointed. She set the girl down and I walked up. "Hi I'm subject 7 what's your name?" I said holding up 7 fingers.
The girl shuffled on her feet and looked to at her mother who nodded.
"My name is Ruby Rose."}
I stopped mid swing and Cinder stabbed her sword into my chest. "RUBY!" I shouted as I grabbed the blade and prevented her from pulling it out. "I remember why she is important to me and now I have another reason to hate you Cinder!"
I swung down at the blade and broke it from the handle leaving what was left in my chest. Cinder quickly stabbed the other one into my stomach which I broke as well. She staggered back and laughed.
"You chose to disarm me by letting my stab you and breaking my swords. Dangerously inventive you fool." She leaped at me and swung her fist with glowed red like fire. I caught her hand with mine and looked her straight in her eyes.
"It worked out in the end you see because now I got you!" I said and I crushed her hand and twisted it breaking her wrist as well. She screamed and managed to pull her now useless hand free.
"You'll pay for that Icarrus!" She screamed. "KILL THEM! KILL THE GIRLS!"
I froze in place and looked towards the girls and saw Sun standing next to them swinging the keys on one hand as he tossed the guard with the other.
"That's gonna be a no from me Cinder." He belted out. "It actually looks like you have lost this round."
Cinder turned around to see this scene and growled. "Men retreat!" She looked at me. "If you live I will be back to capture you one day." I heard a clank and saw a grenade roll in front of me from between my legs. I stood there unable to move as more followed suit and the canisters exploded and spewed smoke filling up the building quickly.
[We are lucky its only smoke.] Eve said, her voice now sounded clear again.
"Yeah...Lucky..." I said as I swayed and fell backwards after blacking out.
