Elena quickly grabbed some of her new clothing and retreated to the bathroom to freshen up and get the whiskey smell from her being. For a moment she wished she had a toothbrush. As she turned to look at herself in the mirror her hand landed on a long plastic type tube. Looking down she realized it was a new toothbrush and she smiled. Lee was so thoughtful, and caring, and gorge-. She cut herself off from finishing that thought but her mind wandered back to the previous night's conversation.

-You're allowed to love more than once.

Elena thought about it. She had, at the time, loved Matt and she had loved Stefan too.

Loved?!

Elena froze, she was already thinking about Stefan in the past tense. Was Lee already burrowing that deeply into her heart? She let out a shuddering breath trying to regain her bearings.

"Elena" She jumped as she heard Lee's voice calling for her.

She swallowed hard, "Yeah?"

"I just wanted to tell you that there is a toothbrush and some more feminine shampoo and body wash. I hope you like cherry blossom." He sounded…nervous.

What had Elena floored was the fact that cherry blossom was in fact her favorite smell. It was floral and sweet but not overly so.

"Yeah, I like it, thanks." She said with a smile in her tone as she turned from the mirror to turn the shower on. Just like he said, there were new soaps beside the ones that were clearly Lee's. Elena's heart warmed at just how thorough he had been in trying to make her comfortable. Heck the man even went as far as to get her bras and underwear, something she was sure was not an easy feat for the reserved vampire.

Lee was so lost in thought that he failed to notice when the witch came up behind him.

"How thoughtful Lee." Bree cooed with a knowing smile.

Lee quickly looked towards the window. "I am doing what I can to make her feel welcome and comfortable. She deserves at least that much."

"Uh-huh." Bree said not fully convinced those where to real reasons as to why the vampire went above and beyond the call of duty for the baby vampire. Of course she knew better but he didn't need to know that.

Lee turned to face the witch. "You don't seemed to convinced of my motives." He said in a serious tone.

She held her hands up in surrender, "I'm convinced." She said firmly. I just think there's more to it. Bree thought to herself.

Lee nodded. But in truth, he wasn't entirely sure that those were the only reasons behind his actions. Yes, he wanted her to feel like things weren't completely turned upside down but a part of him liked the idea of providing for her, making her happy, and overall being someone that she could depend on. But he figured it was best to keep that thinking to himself.

"Don't you have a bar to open up?" He asked Bree.

She sighed, "I suppose, but I don't feel in the mood to smell any sort of alcohol."

Lee wanted to laugh at the grimace that was firmly in place.

By this time Elena had finished her shower and caught the tail end of the conversation. She felt she owed the witch since it was her that the woman gotten blindingly drunk with.

"I can help out." Elena chimed in.

Both the occupants in the room turned to the new voice.

Lee was the first to respond. "Do you think you could handle being around humans? It's only been a few days since you've turned." Elena could hear the worry in his tone.

She gave him a disarming smile, "I'm good, I've got enough alcohol in me to curb cravings for the next week." She joked. "And besides, Bree's my friend and she needs help. It 's the least I can do."

Lee gave a defeated sigh, "Fine, but I'll be there to watch over you."

Elena, for the second time that day, ran up to Lee and gave him a hug. "Thank you for trusting me." She said before pulling away, much too soon for Lee's taste.

He had to admit, he was becoming accustomed to her smiles, her hugs, and he feared that he was quickly falling for the girl.

"Let's head out then." Bree said with a crooked grin. This was bound to be a very interesting day.
