"The little eternal dove had forever

They did not, however"

Reposted from Wattpad

One quiet night, a little lone dove, adorning the mask of a magpie

Played along by the strings of Fate

Went in search for the forbidden gift, with it secrets underly

But with every bringing, only with it is a counterfeit

With each and every search brings more masks

The little dove pushed more and more to the edge

Perplexed, bewildered, the little dove quietly asks

"Why? Was this worth the pledge?"

Only to be answered with the whispering

Of the cold and vast night wind

But its questions answered, with, under the moon, a crystal bleeding

"It's done, it's done, even if the search was unkind."

In its little clutch, the crystal meant to free the dove

Flashed brightly instead, swallowing the pure white bird

Left confused, dazed, the crystal it was now void of

Instead, the dove departed, its goal now accomplished, without a word.

The little dove finally understood the secrets of that night

As the hawks, falcons, and sparrows moved on

Growing, aging, living a life, they all did, albeit

A little eternal dove, whose life doesn't seem to have gone

Their lives, woven by what Fate had brought

The little eternal dove had forever

They did not.

As time moved on, the masks increased

The little eternal dove, who had forever

Its own real face's existence had ceased

Through life it tried to endeavour

But closer to the edge, the little eternal dove drew

Without a sight or meaning of its real face under its masks

It lost sight of what it knew

As it tipped off the edge, the little dove asks

"Why? Was this worth the pledge?"

The loud cooing of its maniacal laughter

As it fell off the edge

Falling, falling thereafter

The little lone, eternal dove had forever

They did not.

"Was this worth the pledge?"

One night, the little dove had unwillingly obtained forever

But everyone else did not, however

Left all alone as this little eternal dove lived on

Its real face, under all its masks, had gone.

To those who may be a bit confused, each chapter is not a continuation of the previous chapter. Every one is a separate poem on its own.

Sorry for any confusion that could have been ensured.
