Your reviews are really appreciated, so thank you so so much to the four people that reviewed my first chapter! I'm sending you virtual hugs right now!
Here's the second chapter, I'm sorry it's not that long but I promise the next one will be longer and more intense :3
Enjoy!
Haruka tried his best to ignore that strange feeling that had traveled through his body right before Rin let go of his hand, putting on his most neutral face as he calmly unbuttoned the red-haired teen's coat. The fact that those ruby eyes were staring directly at him didn't exactly make it an easy task, but somehow he managed to help his rival out of his coat before dealing with his own. Rin shook his hands as if he tried to get the blood circulating once again as he flashed a grin at the raven-haired teen.
"That wasn't so difficult, was it?" Haruka just rolled his eyes in response and turned around, heading for the changing rooms. He'd been at Samezuka Academy so many times now that he knew his way around, of course only when it came to the pool-area. The sound of Rin's laughter and footsteps became louder as he approached Haruka from behind, and soon the two of them were walking side by side yet again.
"Why doesn't it surprise me.." Rin sighed, noticing that the blue-eyed teen was already wearing his swimsuit underneath his clothes, like always. Haru just ignored his remark, rummaging through his sports-bag to find his goggles as Rin shook his head and turned around to put on his own swimsuit. He raised an eyebrow as he did so, speaking to Haruka who was standing behind him.
"Y'know, wearing that same swimsuit everywhere you go is really bad for your personal hygiene." That made the blue-eyed teen turn around to protest, but oh how he wish he hadn't. Now he was staring straight into Rin's back, baffled by what he saw. Never had he noticed how muscular the red-haired teen was, not to mention how perfect he looked from behind. Wait, what? What was he thinking!? Haruka shook his head, remembering what he actually wanted to say before he got taken aback by the boy in front of him.
"It's not the same." He just replied, immediately turning away from Rin's gaze as the redhead had turned his head to look over his shoulder at the now flustered teen.
"Huh? You always wear that one, don't lie."
"No."
"So you're trying to tell me that you have multiple swimsuits that looks exactly like the one you're wearing right now?"
"Yes."
A light chuckle escaped Rin's throat, making Haruka widen his eyes slightly. How come he'd never noticed that the red-haired teen who was standing there laughing, sounded almost exactly the same as he did when he was a young boy? That pure, innocent laughter which he thought was long gone was now echoing in the empty locker room before slowly fading out, leaving behind a strange feeling in Haru's chest. Was it nostalgia? Was it the fact that he was glad that Rin hadn't completely lost himself? Or was it something.. else?
"Haru..? Oi, Haru!" Something heavy suddenly weighed the dark-haired teen's shoulder down, forcing him to snap back to reality only to find himself staring straight into a pair of round, ruby eyes peeking curiously into his. Haruka jumped back, his heart beating uncontrollably fast as he recovered from the shock.
"Whoa, calm down dolphin boy! You've been acting pretty strange ever since we got here, what's up?" Rin tried, raising an eyebrow and nodded at the startled teen in front of him to try and signal that he was listening to whatever he might had to say. Of course, the two of them had never really been good at pouring out their feelings to each other so all he got in response were three simple words.
"Nothing, let's go." And with that, Haruka grabbed his towel and stomped rather impatiently out of the locker rooms and towards the pool area whereas Rin took his time to swing his towel around his neck and lazily following him, stretching both his arms and legs in the process.
"What's wrong with me?" The blue-eyed teen mumbled to himself rather frustrated, trying his best to push everything aside and focus on winning the race against his rival, Rin Matsuoka... Rin Matsuoka.. Before he knew it, something in his chest felt weird again.. almost like something had stopped working in there. With furrowed brows he tried to punch himself rather hard on his chest, but with no luck. He closed his eyes, trying to focus on the strange feeling that had suddenly made him a bit nauseous as a voice reached his ears, a moment too late.
"Watch where you're going idiot!" It was Rin's voice again, but it had that same anger to it like it had in the park.. Why?
Haruka soon figured out why, but he didn't react fast enough as his leg hit something cold and hard that most of all reminded him of steel, before the rest of his body fell over and his blue eyes widening in horror before feeling an immense pain in his head and everything turned black. The last thing he heard was bare feet tapping against the tiles before stopping right beside him as someone called his name over and over.
Thank you so much for the nice reviews on my first chapter, you really made me want to sit down in front of my computer when I got home from work even though I've been tired.. So once again, thank you! You're the best :3
And no, Haru isn't dead! I'm just gonna put it out there since I was worried that someone might think something tragic like that would happen and Rin would be left all alone, but no! I could never kill any of my babies :(
