I finally released a chapter! Wow, who could have guessed!
Sorry for being away for so long, I've had my personal reasons - but I hope that you'll forgive me for leaving this fic behind for so long! It's been a troublesome year, but I think I'm finally getting back on my feet again :D
Coming back to see such positive reviews really meant a lot to me and gave me all the feels, so thank you a thousand times! I'm so happy to see someone still follows this fic even though it's been left untouched for so long! I love all of you!
Enjoy the chapter! (though it's not that long..)
It was early in the morning, way too early in Rin Matsuoka's opinion. Something had woken him up, but he didn't exactly know what it was until he tried to move. That was when he realized that the raven-haired teen's body was sprawled halfway over his, lying on his stomach with an arm wrapped around Rin, one leg between his own legs and his head resting on his shoulder. His ruby eyes studied the sleeping boy's face and no matter how uncomfortable he was, he simply couldn't make himself move a muscle. A part of him wanted Haruka to be this close to him forever, even though he probably didn't feel the same way about Rin.. Didn't feel the same way, huh? The thought alone replaced that usual confident look in his eyes with sadness. He remembered it all now, remembered how he'd spent some nights desperately trying to forget his feelings towards his rival, but to no avail. How he had sunk so low as to break multiple girls hearts in hopes of realizing that what he felt towards Haruka wasn't love, but he had gained nothing from it apart from a nagging feeling of guilt. That was when he learned to accept the fact that the boy sleeping on top of him was indeed the one he was in love with, but now he had to learn the hard way that what most would consider a blessing was also a curse.
"Idiot.." He mumbled softly as he raised his hand to run it through those silky black locks tickling his neck, smiling slightly as the teen responded by nuzzling his head into Rin's hand.
"If only you knew.." The redhead continued, letting his hand carefully run from Haruka's hair down to his cheek, gently caressing the side of the sleeping boy's face. At least he thought he was sleeping.
"..Knew what?"
Shit! Of course Haruka would be awake! Rin pulled his hand away from his rival's cheek as if it had burned him, heat rising to his face as he struggled to find the right words.
"N-Nothing! I was just.. Practicing! Yeah, Nitori is doing a play and I uh.. I promised to help him out!" Was that supposed to be an excuse? Great, now he had pulled Ai into this mess all of a sudden. The red-haired teen bit his lower lip, mentally pnuching himself over and over again and it wasn't until Haru moved that he was pulled back to reality. As he looked down at the raven-haired teen he noticed that his eyes were still closed, but he knew that he was awake. The boy kept moving around, trying to get comfortable sprawled across Rin's body. Problem was, he was the only one getting comfortable in that situation.
"Haruka.. Can you stop moving.. For a second?" He spoke through gritted teeth, concentrating on keeping his heartbeat steady. As mentioned, the boy sleeping on top of him had his one of his legs between Rin's and the fact that he kept moving around was quite.. Distracting to say the least.
"Mnnh.." Haruka only replied, yawning into Rin's shoulder. Seriously, that boy would be the death of him. His ruby gaze once again fell upon his rival's face, and he noticed something that most of all made him want to throw a punch right at those perfect features of his. The dark-haired boy wasn't even trying to hide the smile that tugged at the corners of his lips as he moved around once again, forcing Rin to hold his breath.
"I can't breathe, Haru.." He mumbled in an attempt to make his rival get off him, but his words had quite the opposite effect. Haruka's blue eyes blinked open as he looked up at him with a bored expression on his face, the one he always wore.
"Then stop holding your breath." The dark-haired teen replied indifferently, seeing right through the now rather flustered redhead. Rin wasn't sure he could take much more of this, seeing as his heartbeat only increased with every second passing.
"J-Just get off me!" He finally shouted, pushing Haruka away from him and back to his spot on the mattress where he had fallen asleep the night before. After shoving his rival away like a sack of potatoes he immediately sat up, running a hand through the burgundy mess that was his hair.
The other boy was silent, looking up at him with a subtle smile lingering on his lips. He was thankful. Thankful that Rin was alive, that he had taken care of him after his fall and that he was here with him. It was strange, really. The way he couldn't stop looking at Rin as he sat there, trying to comb his fingers through his uncontrollable locks. This feeling that kept on surfacing whenever he looked at him like this, it wasn't like anything he had ever felt before. Maybe if he tried to..
The sudden sound of sheets rustling made Rin turn his head towards his rival, but froze immediately as he found himself staring straight into those two deep blue eyes only a few inches from his.
"H-Haru? What the he-" He immediately got silenced by two soft lips pressing against his own rather clumsily, cutting him off in the middle of his outburst.
