Peter was pacing around the floor at Cair Paravel in the courtroom. Edmund was watching his each side sitting on his throne, one leg on the throne's arm and the other one the floor with a lazy look. Lucy was counting the number of steps Peter was taking and she had reached a thousand. Finally Edmund couldn't take it any longer and asked, "What is it Pete ? Why are you pacing around like a madman ? " Peter stopped his pacing and looked at Edmund with incredulous eyes. He asked , "Really Edmund ! How can you be so careless ?" Edmund asked defensively, "Hey ! What did I do ? " Peter said, Our sister has gone out and still hasn't come back. Edmund groaned and put his head to the back of his throne. Peter was having another of his overprotective fits. Peter started pacing again. After a few minutes Lucy said, "I don't think Susan would jump out from behind the pillar if you keep on pacing like that. " Peter turned to face her and said, "What if something happened to her ? What if Susan is in danger ?" Lucy exclaimed, "For Aslan's sake Peter, she has got Caspian with her and .." Peter cut her off,"Exactly ! Caspian is there with her.. What is he takes advantage of the situation ?" Lucy exclaimed, "Peter ! You know we can trust Caspian. Why are you talking like this ?" Edmund said, "Yes Pete. And they left only an hour ago." Peter said, "Yes, They left AN HOUR AGO.. And still they aren't back. Why did they go alone ? They could have taken Glenstorm or Trumpkin along ." Lucy said, "Calm down Peter. Its not like they have run away.. They are engaged and are getting married next week." Edmund said, "And they obviously want to spend some time with each other.." Peter said, "They are only ENGAGED.. They are not yet MARRIED".
Edmund and Lucy hit their foreheads with their hands. Peter was too big of a pighead to talk to when he was in one of his over-protective fits. Just then the sound of trumpets were heard which meant that Susan and Caspian had returned from their date in the woods. A fuming Susan came walking in with a parchment in her hands. Lucy happily exclaimed, "Susan ! How was the date ? Where is Caspian ?" Susan looked at Peter with a death-glare and said, "Caspian is in his room, Lucy.." She turned back to Lucy and said, "Lucy, remind me to kick Peter nicely tomorrow. I am too tired now. And Lucy.. If you are planning on getting married, just run away and get married. You can come back later and tell us you got married." Saying this she threw the parchment on the floor and walked away to the chambers. Edmund asked, "What's wrong with Susan ? She looks NO SO VERY HAPPY.." Lucy picked up the parchment from the floor and read through it. She turned to glare at Peter who had a blank expression on his face. She exclaimed, "Seriously Peter.. You are unbelievable ! " Edmund asked, "What happened Lu ?" Lucy said, "Peter sent some squirrels to drop apples on Caspian's head if they did not start back to the castle after an hour. One of the squirrels accidentally dropped the message parchment and so Susan is fuming." Edmund exclaimed, "Peter ! You are unbelievable ! Seriously !" Peter said, "She said she was tired." Edmund said, "Yes, she would be. She just came back." Peter said, "She said SHE WAS TIRED ! What could have happened such that she is very tired ?!" Again it was a hit of the forehead by their palms for both Edmund and Lucy. Peter really was a big fat pighead at times.
