I think my Cars phase is slowly drifting away, lately I've been into Disney stuff but I'm not sure what I'll be totally into next. It changes from time to time...But anyways a fair bit happened in the previous chapter, giving hints to the future and all. So expect small time skips in this Chapter so I can get down to the point of whether Sam is pregnant or not and just get the plot moving along I guess.
And I think with the pace, I find doing 9 more chapters will be rushing it. So I'm going to let it flow for a while but I won't be making this story heaps long like my other DP story which turned out to be 50+ Chapters...and that was a sequel story! Oh, and just to let you know in case I haven't already. No sequel for this story. ;)
Enjoy Chapter 21 of Forgetful Love! ^^
DP (C) Butch Hartman
For the last days of school, Sam, Tucker and Danny grew silent and rarely spoke to each other. When it was lunch or recess break Sam would sit on her own while the two boys would sit closely by watching her in worry and concern. They didn't know what was wrong with her; she wasn't acting like herself anymore after the abortion.
It was those last days that were crucial to her education, but Sam couldn't help but get angry at herself for not doing anything because she wasn't in the mood to do anything. She wondered if this was normal for her to be on an emotional roller coaster after an abortion.
But, the confusion ended on the second last day of school.
It was a cloudy morning, there was enough light in the sky to tell that the sun was up and shining behind the clouds and the big blue sky waiting behind these light grey clouds.
It was half past six in the morning, Sam's alarm had buzzed her awake and she reluctantly turned off the alarm and got out of bed to start another day closer to the end of school forever. She couldn't wait to no longer walk into a crowd of bustling students always staring at her because of her Goth nature; she could finally be free to do what she wanted.
But, she was hoping that the unplanned child could've been a part of it. It was going to be Danny's child, but she allowed it to vanish out of existence and possibly never be seen again. It made her cry every time she thought about it.
She couldn't help but let her emotions control her every action, prevent certain actions from taking place and lock her away from everyone else. It made her feel immobilised from the rest of the world, too disconnected from everyone else...even her closest friends.
As Sam began to get dressed, she felt very uneasy in her stomach, almost nauseated. The feeling remained in her gut until it slowly drifted away as she began to brush her hair and put on her makeup. She felt concerned for a moment with the nauseated feeling but shook it aside once the feeling disappeared. However she did wonder why she had a nauseated feeling just minutes after she woke up. She had a crazy thought but shook it aside and went downstairs to grab some breakfast.
To her surprise, she didn't find her parents around, however Sam did find a note attached to the fridge with a magnet explaining why they weren't there.
We'll be back before you get home from school, nothing to worry about. Just meeting up with some old friends in case you were wondering. From Mom and Dad.
She shrugged and crimpled up the paper and placed it in the bin before she made her way back to the fridge to get herself some yoghurt.
As Sam sat down at the table looking around the room lost in her thoughts as she ate her blackberry yoghurt, the nauseated feeling returned again, but this time it was more extreme. Sam immediately rushed to the bathroom and emptied what she had just eaten into the toilet bowl. After it was over, she sighed heavily and flushed the toilet, still kneeling next to the bowl as she rested her head against it in relief that the vomiting was over.
Her first thoughts were that it was the yoghurt; the yoghurt may have passed its expiry date. But Sam knew from her biology class that food poising doesn't happen straight away. It concerned her deeply, as soon as her thoughts trailed to the possibility of her still being pregnant. She denied it and left for school.
At Casper High, Danny and Tucker were already in class. They wanted to be early so they could study; Danny was worried that a ghost might show up, he needed this time to study for his final exams over the next two days. But he worried about Sam more than anything else; he really hoped that she would show up and try to talk to them. It had been strange and unsettling these past few days. Danny didn't want this uneasy feeling in his gut all the time, it made him feel nauseated.
It was silent, nothing but the sound of a ticking clock and footsteps outside making every step sound like an echo down the long and empty corridor. But the silent was broken once the first bell rang.
Danny and Tucker stood up and had a small stretch before sitting back down and giving each other a worried look. They were both thinking the same thing; where was Sam? But Danny shrugged it off, knowing that class had only just started and they didn't share their first class together so it was no surprise to him.
During the entire first period, Danny thought about the same thing that had been on his mind ever since he and Sam had that argument. He worried that there might be something wrong with her. He did visit her but in ghost form and when she could not see him. He would see her sitting on her bed caressing her stomach, he shed a tear almost every time he saw his most important person suffering for reasons he didn't know.
At that same moment, Sam had something different in her mind. She had a thousand thoughts racing through her head about her throwing up, but she couldn't understand why it concerned her so much. It was only one throw up...in the morning. Sam shook her head vigorously in denial. There was no way that she was still pregnant.
It was at recess break that Sam decided to end this silence with Danny and Tucker; it was really starting to annoy her. She knew it was her fault to begin with and now she hated being the cause of it and just wants it to be over. The sudden emotional change in her confused her mind, she couldn't seem to handle her emotions lately and it made her think why while she waited for Danny and Tucker come out during recess break.
Unfortunately, the worries of how she had been acting were lengthened when she saw that Danny and Tucker didn't show up. It was then assumed that they were either staying in or there was another ghost attack. So she sighed looking down with guilt as she slowly walked back inside only to hear the wail of a ghost nearby which indicated that Danny was in the middle of a ghost fight.
It wasn't until during her next period that she saw Danny racing to her class due to them sharing the same class at that time. Sam looked away when she heard the door open, and bit her lower lip in deep regret and anxiousness. She wanted to talk to him but at the same time she didn't, and she couldn't make a decision.
It frustrated her the entire lesson, she couldn't focus, and she knew that Danny was looking at her, she could feel it. He had been since that argument they had, she was surprised he hadn't tried to talk to her yet, she knew Danny too well to not let everything stay like this.
Sam took one quick glance at Danny and saw that he was looking at her; he gave a small friendly smile before Sam scowled at him uncontrollably and looked away. Her emotions controlling her every move just as they have been for many days now. It confused her, she left out a puff of air with an annoyed grunt as she knew she could've talked to him then and there.
The whole time Danny had been confused, why did she leave? Why did she stop talking all of a sudden? There was something wrong with Sam, she hadn't been acting like herself lately, Danny thought. He needed to know what was wrong with her much more than anything else, even his final exams felt worthless to him if he didn't know what was wrong with Sam.
When he saw her take a glance at him, he couldn't help but smile. The first idea that came to mind when she looked at him was smiling at her, trying to make her feel better through his body language, but deep down he knew it wouldn't work. So when she looked away, he sighed in regret for not saying anything to her but instead giving her a sheepish smile that didn't do anything.
The rest of the lesson she did not look back at him, when the class bell rang he knew that now was the time to talk to her, he dashed out of his seat and sped walk to her table where she was still slouching in her seat with her eyes closed and her eyebrows lower indicating sadness was taking over her.
Sam didn't look up but could feel his presence, her suspicions were confirmed when he held her hand. She looked up slowly, expecting Danny to have a concerning look on his face but what she saw was a smile of forgiveness and care. And then, the tears returned, she grunted in annoyance that her emotions yet again controlled her. She had to figure out why she was like this all the time now.
"Sam?"
"I...I just..." She stuttered, trying to hold her tears back. "No...I don't..." She began to frustrate herself with words that couldn't be pieced together.
Knowing that he wouldn't leave her, she attempted to run away again anyway but felt Danny's tight grip of her hand not letting go.
"Please, if you could just tell me what was going on I could help."
Sam sighed once again, and turned back to Danny. She looked up at him with tears of frustration in her eyes.
"I don't know what's wrong with me..." She cried in a soft tone, looking down in shame and embarrassment of how her mascara was now running down her cheeks.
"I can help you, that's what I'm here for." Danny assured her, giving a kiss on the forehead.
They both left the room and towards their lockers where Tucker was waiting anxiously for Danny to arrive but to his surprise he found Sam underneath Danny's shoulder looking very down on herself. He immediately rushed to the other side of Sam and immediately asked what was wrong.
"Sam, are you okay? What happened to you?" He asked out of worry and concern for his best friend.
Sam sniffled, knowing that Tucker was trying too to help her she looked up at her best friend and told him exactly what she had told Danny a moment ago.
"I don't know what's wrong with me...I just can't seem to keep my emotions in check..." She added, giving a reason as to why she was so upset with herself.
Danny rubbed her back in support, but he could see that t wasn't helping her; she moved away from Danny and put her books away in her locker before grabbing her lunch. It was a tough task with only one arm but she managed well. The boys offered their helping hand but Sam assured them that she was fine on her own.
"If you guys were girls, then I think you'd be able to help me with my problem." Sam stated after closing her locker.
Danny and Tucker looked at each other in confusion; they both didn't understand the female mind very well and they didn't really want to because of how awkward it felt.
"So...it's a girl's thing?" Tucker guessed, with his thumb placed under his chin, giving a gesture with his other hand.
Sam shrugged and looked down with sadness. "I guess it is, there's no other reason...maybe that abortion had side effects or something."
Danny hated hearing that word, but knew that their lives were better off without children at the moment. But somehow deep down inside, he wished that Sam never gave up on the child. But at the surface he had to support her in any decision she made.
"We understand, Sam." Danny assured Sam, with a supporting hand on her shoulder. "If you need time alone just tell us next time." He added with a caring smile.
Sam almost forced a smile, to show that she had listened and understood. It was getting really hard lately for Sam to keep her emotions in check. She decided to research this after she had spent some time with Tucker and Danny.
It was after school, the three of them were out for a walk. They were going to go to Danny's but feared that the previous situation they were in would jeopardize the situation. So they took a long walk into the park.
"So, have you remembered everything?" Tucker asked, out of the blue, trying to kill the silence around them.
Sam shrugged, Danny was holding onto her with his arm wrapped around her should. "I guess I don't remember everything but..." The tears returned. "I just wish I didn't remember anything at all." She cried, wanting to run away again but knew Danny's grip only grew tighter with every cry she made.
They all sat down near a bench, both boys supported Sam as she cried in her own tears. This amnesia situation had died down but was still present, Sam was lucky enough to remember more than Danny could. Danny just wished he remembered more of why he pushed Sam to make her have an abortion. He never understood why he was so selfish thinking that it was okay to do that to Sam.
"Sam, every day I zap myself with my ecto ray just thinking about it." Danny exclaimed, sounding very serious. "The only thing I want to remember is why I have done this to you."
"It's not all your fault, it's my fault too."
Tucker again was feeling like the one left out; the oddball because he didn't have a serious relationship like Danny and Sam did. He wanted to say something but couldn't find a good time or a good follow up sentence to say, so the geek remained silent until he thought he was needed in the situation.
"No, I am taking full blame for this. I should be holding this together, just like I hold this town together by keeping ghosts away." Danny stated, using his heroic status as an example.
"Danny, stop. I'm in this too. If I said no you would've let me go."
"Yeah, you're not the only one in this relationship you know?" Tucker added.
The past events were coming back to Sam; she remembered them almost so clearly.
"Danny...I don't know..."
"It's okay Sam, I won't hurt you."
"But...we're too young..."
Her flashback stops there, Danny's words sounded menacing, but his tone transformed those words into care and concern for her. She tried to felt better but that newfound memory only made it worse, and Danny and Tucker could tell that her crying seemed to increase intensely.
"I remember more..." She cried softly, with her face hidden by her long black hair.
"You do?" Tucker asked, finally being able to say something. "What is it?" Tucker added, curious to know what Sam could remember now.
How could Sam remember so much more? Danny thought in annoyance, before asking the same thing Tucker did to Sam.
"You said you wouldn't hurt me..." She explained with tears still streaming down her face as she looked up at Danny.
Oh no... Was Danny's immediate thoughts, this was definitely not going to end well. If he said he wouldn't hurt her, and knew that right now she was indeed hurt emotionally, that meant that she was going to have another breakdown.
"How could you!?" Sam yelled. "You hurt me when you said you wouldn't!"
"Sam I- I don't know what to say. I-I'm sorry, I never meant to!" Danny cried, trying to plead with her.
"Just leave me alone!"
And less than thirty seconds later, Sam was gone and Danny and Tucker were still sitting on the bench. Tucker staring at Danny who had tears developing around his baby blue eyes. He knew that this was a situation that he had to help with, but he didn't know how he could help his two best friends forgive each other and be happy and normal.
But then he knew... their lives were never normal.
Aww...that's sad! Poor Danny and how things have turned out! :( Now I did say I would answer what happened in the last chapter about whether Sam was pregnant or not but I guess that'll have to wait till the next chapter. Or do you know already? *giggles*
So, that was a very descriptive Chapter. I started out with barely any dialogue! Well, hope you guys didn't mind. I'll hear from you soon and Chapter 22 will be up sometime soon! ^^
