Hello everyone! I'm glad you all are looking forward to the story. Enjoy!
Chapter 2: A Few Friendly Pushes
"So your mom saw that girl in nothing but your shirt?" Finn laughed as Puck told him about his morning as they had coffee at the nearest café. After he thought about what his mom told him, he got dressed and left to meet up with Finn.
Puck rolled his eyes. "Yeah it's not that funny."
"Alright fine, maybe not," he said as he stopped laughing. "But what did your mom want anyway?"
"Just to give me some invitation from Rachel," he shrugged, trying to play it off as if it wasn't a big deal. He never told Finn or any of the boys Rachel's true identity because he felt that it wasn't important for them to know.
But Finn still knew how special Rachel was to Puck. "Wait, really? What was it for?"
"Just some party but I'm not going. I don't want to see her."
"Come on dude. Whatever happened to you two happened five years ago. Don't you think it's time to let go of it and move on?"
Puck rolled his eyes. "Look, I've moved on. I don't need to see her to prove that."
Finn frowned at his friend. He knew Puck was hurt when Rachel suddenly went back to her country but it was like he cut himself off from all emotions. Finn had never seen Puck so torn up over a girl and it actually worried him.
"Dude I don't want to tell you how to live your life but I think you should go back. She was a big part of your life and I think you owe it to yourself to go see her and show her what she missed out on. You can't tell me that wouldn't feel good."
Puck shook his head. "Not happening. My mom and Sara can go but I think I'll pass. Now can we get out of here? Apparently Sam needs our help renovating his apartment."
"The exact thing I look forward to on a Saturday," Finn smirked as they got up and left.

Puck sighed in relief as he reached his apartment hours later. After spending the day helping Sam renovate, all Puck wanted to do was sleep. But when he walked in and saw Sara sitting on his couch, he knew that wasn't going to happen.
He groaned. "Sara how the hell did you get in here?"
"Your landlord recognized me and let me in. He was just happy that I wasn't one of the random girls you normally bring here."
"Please don't tell me Mom's with you," he said as he walked in and threw his stuff down before walking to the kitchen to get them something to drink.
Sara shook her head. "No she's on a date with her boyfriend who, by the way, is actually a pretty good guy. You would've known that if you had come to dinner."
"Yeah call me over for dinner when they make it to three months. Then maybe I'll consider coming and meeting him." He gave her a bottle of soda before sitting down in the nearby chair. "Let me guess, you took the bus to get here?"
"Maybe," she answered, mischievously.
Puck shook his head. "I've taught you too much. You know Mom will kill me if she knew I showed you how to take the bus to come over here."
Sara rolled her eyes. "Yeah because she thinks I'm still six. But I was bored and I wanted to talk to you about something."
"What's up?" he asked.
"Can you tell me about Rachel and what happened to her? I remember her a little but I never knew that anything happened between you two."
Puck frowned. He knew mentioning Rachel was going to spark some curiosity in Sara. She never knew about them dating and when Rachel suddenly disappeared from her life, Maria just thought it would be easier on everyone to simply tell Sara that she went back home.
"I don't know Sara," he replied. "You know Rachel's a touchy subject for me."
"I know but it's just that Mom is planning for us to go to her coronation but I barely remember anything about her because she spent most of her time hanging out with you and your friends. I didn't even know she was a princess until Mom told you about the invitation."
"Well Mom and I thought that not mentioning her would be easier for you to forget her like I've been trying to." Seeing that Sara really wanted an answer, Puck sighed. "Alright fine. Yeah, we dated but then she got kidnapped and taken back to her country to marry some asshole prince."
Sara's eyes widened. "Wait, she was kidnapped?"
He nodded. "Yeah by one of the idiot guys on the football team. I went to save her and bring her back and I did but in the end, I had to remember that she was a princess who needed to be home and rule her country. I was supposed to go back after graduation but things changed and now I don't speak to her."
"So you're not going back because things went bad between you two?"
"Pretty much. She went on with her life and forgot about me so I don't want anything to do with her. As far as I'm concerned she can stick to her royal life. I'm better off without her."
"Are you?" Puck looked at her in confusion. "I mean look at you. All you do is work, go to bars and bring a different girl home every night. I don't understand everything that happened with you and Rachel but I don't think you're better off. From what I remember, you seemed happier when she was around. I don't think it would be a bad idea to go see her."
"Yeah except she's at the age to pick a prince to marry and I don't think I want to find out who it is."
She sighed to herself, trying to think of a way to get Puck to come with them. When she figured it out, she smirked. "Wow. I never thought I'd see my big brother act like such a coward."
He looked at her. "What did you just say?"
"You heard me. You're so scared that your feelings are going to get hurt that you're not even willing to take a chance. It's okay to admit that you're scared."
"Kid, scared is the last thing that I am."
Sara folded her arms. "Then prove it. Come to Mercier with us. That guy, Daniel, arranged for us to go on a private plane. It'll be really cool if you came."
Puck shook his head. "Hell no. Absolutely not. No matter what you say or what you try to trick me into, I'm not going."

Puck sighed to himself as he sat on the plane with Maria and Sara two weeks later. He didn't know how Sara managed to talk him into coming with them but he could feel that he was going to regret it. He didn't know how Rachel was going to react when they finally saw each other again and he couldn't deny that he was nervous about the whole thing.
"Mom look!" Sara said, interrupting Puck's thoughts. He looked and noticed her pointing at the castle.
Realizing they were about to land, Puck's stomach began to turn but he tried to remember that this wasn't a big deal. He was just going to see Rachel, attend the coronation and then get back to his life. Things don't have to be weird between them.
When they landed and got off the plane, Sara smiled as she looked around. "I can't believe she has her own runway for her own plane. Being a princess must be amazing."
Puck rolled his eyes. From what Rachel has told him, it seems like being a princess is the equivalent to being a prisoner. "Sure it is."
Sara looked at Maria. "Do you think she'll remember me?"
"Of course. She loved you from the moment you two met so I'm sure she'll be excited to see you."
"Lucky you," Puck mumbled. Before they could respond to him, a black car pulled up in front of them and Daniel came out.
"Hello Puckerman family," he smiled. "Nice to see you all again."
"Who are you?" Sara asked.
Daniel looked at her. "That's right, I don't believe we've properly met. My name is Daniel Witherson. I am a good friend of the royal family."
Sara shook his hand. "Nice to meet you. So you've already met my mom and brother?"
"Yes I actually arranged for the princess to stay with your family and I brought your brother back here so he could save the princess from a loveless marriage."
"Good times," Puck smirked as he looked at Daniel. "Nice to see you again, Daniel."
"You as well, Mr. Puckerman. I've been wondering if I would ever see you again." Sensing Puck's uneasiness about being in Mercier, Daniel changed the subject. "Well let's get you all into the car so we can go to the castle, shall we?"
The driver got out and got everyone's bags as the four of them got into the car. As they got closer to the castle, Sara grew more excited while Puck became even more nervous than he already was. It felt like he hadn't been to the castle in an eternity.
When they finally got there, they got out of the car and walked inside of the castle. Daniel looked at the Puckerman family. "The royal family is in the common room, waiting for us. They are very excited to see you."
As everyone followed the guards, Puck pulled Daniel's arm to stop him. "Does Rachel know I'm here?"
Daniel gave a sheepish look. "Well about that."
Puck frowned. "You didn't tell her did you?"
"Well when I sent the invitation, I was merely hoping you would come. I decided that the princess did not need to know about the invitation. She is not even aware that I invited your mother and sister."
"Couldn't you get in trouble for this?"
Daniel shook his head. "Not at all. The king and queen thought it was a splendid idea. What better way to celebrate the princess becoming a queen than inviting the family who helped keep her safe at one point in time?"
Puck sighed. "Daniel, the last thing Rachel wants right now is to see me, trust me."
"I do not believe that," Daniel shook his head. "I do not know what happened between you two but she has changed because of it and not for the better. It is like that ordeal five years ago never happened. I believe the only way for her to go back to who she was is to bring you back so you could come face to face."
"But isn't she supposed to be picking an eligible prince to marry?" he asked, hating every word. "I don't think I want to see that."
"Well maybe seeing you again may get you two back together in the end."
Puck shook his head. "Look, I appreciate you trying to play matchmaker but it's not going to happen. Rachel's forgotten about me by now and will probably kick me out the minute she sees me."
Daniel nodded and motioned towards the stairs. "Only one way to find out."

When they got to the common room, Puck found the king and queen talking to Maria and Sara. When they noticed him, they walked over to him.
Shelby smiled before hugging him. "Noah it is so good to see you again."
As they pulled away, Hiram smiled at him and shook his hand. "Welcome back."
"Thanks it's good to see you again too," Puck smiled but it didn't help his nerves.
"We're so happy you could make it to see this special event," Shelby said.
Puck tried to pay attention instead of listening to his own thoughts about what's going on. He just couldn't forget about Daniel informing him that Rachel had no idea he was even coming. His thoughts were interrupted when he heard the voice he's been waiting to hear for all these years.
"Noah?"
Let me know your thoughts. Bye for now :)
