Hello everyone! I have finals coming up so I may not be able to update as fast as I normally do but I will try to update as soon as I can. Enjoy!

Chapter 4: Confrontation

Puck groaned in frustration as he dropped down on his bed. He didn't mean to act like a jerk to Rachel but after years of holding in the anger towards her he felt like he had to let it out. He didn't think anything he said was untrue though. He did think Rachel was good at sending him away from her to make things easier on herself.

While he was thinking, Maria and Sara barged into the room. He looked at them. "Ever heard of knocking?"

"What was that?" Sara demanded. "You were completely rude to Rachel."

"Whatever, it's not like she didn't deserve it. She doesn't want us here in the first place."

"She doesn't want you here. She has no problem with me or Mom being here. If you would stop being a jerk maybe you'll learn to tolerate her."

"No thanks, I'm good. In fact, I think I'll take her up on her offer to send me home. That way you guys can enjoy the ceremony while I go back to my life."

Sara rolled her eyes. "Yeah because your life is so great without her. She may be the best thing that has ever happened to you and she doesn't deserve you lashing out at her like this."

"Sara what do you know? You were seven when all of this happened and you barely even knew her. You don't get what happened with us which makes it so easy for you to be on her side."

Maria shook her head. "Noah, don't you think you're being a little ridiculous? You're twenty-one years old, you should be able to deal with your ex."

"Don't you people get it?" he yelled at them. "Rachel's not just an ex. I was in love with the girl. Completely, stupidly in love with her despite the fact that I knew she had to be here. I was ready to give up everything to be with her and she just dropped me. So I think I have a reason to not be very welcoming to her at the moment. Just leave me alone right now."

Before Sara or Maria could say anything else, Puck walked out. He just wanted to be away from everyone. No one understood or cared about how he felt about everything and it would just be easier if he stayed by himself.

Meanwhile Rachel was pacing back and forth in her room replaying in her mind what happened at the dinner. She couldn't believe Puck acted like that in front of everyone. He was so angry at her and didn't even consider how she was feeling about what happened between them. This wasn't the young man that she fell in love with when her life was falling apart.

Hiram and Shelby walked in and frowned when they saw her pacing. She looked at them. "I cannot believe that happened. This is why you should have asked my permission before inviting him to come."

"We did not realize things were so bad between you two," Shelby explained. "We thought it was a simple split."

"Well evidently not. He hates me and now I have to deal with it for an entire month. I do not need the stress of this added onto the stress of becoming queen. Maybe I should just send him home."

Hiram shook his head. "Now Rachel do you really think that is the best idea? Things will only get worse between you."

"He will be in Ohio so it would not really matter. Things were better off when we were apart anyway. I could focus on my responsibilities and he could focus on his."

"But is that really what you want?" Shelby asked. "Darling you have cut yourself off from all emotions ever since you two broke up. I think you should talk to him."

Rachel groaned. "Why should I? He is nothing like I remember so I would prefer not to speak to him about anything."

"The Noah we saw at dinner seems like someone who was hurt a long time ago and has been holding in how he felt all these years until now. I think it is only fair that you have a talk with him about what happened."

She sighed before nodding. Maybe her parents were right. Maybe she had to have a conversation with Puck about what happened between them to get him to stop being so hostile. If she wanted peace for the next month, she would have to swallow her pride and be the first to address the situation.

The next day, Puck took a walk around the castle while everyone went to eat breakfast together. The last thing he wanted was to deal with was another meal like last night and he still wasn't ready to deal with everyone.

While he was walking, he found Ryder walking away from the dining area. "Hey aren't you supposed to be helping out with breakfast?"

Ryder shook his head. "No they don't really need me this morning. Uncle Daniel already took care of giving the royal family their schedule for the day."

"Is Rachel's day busy? At least this way I'll know how long I have to avoid her until another dinner."

"Yeah I heard about last night. Sounds like it was pretty rough."

"It was. I'm pretty sure Rachel's going to get me a first class ticket on a plane back home. So looks like I won't have to stay here and watch her find a husband."

"I don't think leaving is the answer. But hey, I have something that will take your mind off of it."

"What?"

"Follow me."

They walked until they got to a locked door. Puck looked at Ryder. "How are we supposed to get in?"

Ryder held up a key. "It pays being part of the help." He opened the door to reveal a bowling alley. "How about a game?"

Puck looked at him. "Wait you guys bowl here?"

"The princess said that she became familiar with it during her time in America so she wanted to recreate a bowling alley here. So what do you say?"

"Let's bowl," he smirked. They went and set up the game before beginning to play. "I'm guessing you sneak in here and play sometimes?"

Ryder shrugged. "Yeah pretty much. I need to find something to do while my uncle takes care of the royal family." He bowled his turn before looking back at Puck. "So do you really think the princess will send you home?"

"I wouldn't be surprised if she did. She didn't want me here in the first place."

"You never know, you might be able to work something out."

Puck smirked. "Yeah, you didn't see how badly I messed up dinner last night. I doubt there's any chance of coming back from that."

"Noah?" he heard Rachel call. He turned around and saw her standing there. "May I have a word with you?"

"Looks like there is a chance," Ryder smirked before walking away, leaving the two alone.

Puck sighed. "Look, if you're going to yell at me about last night I don't want to hear it. My mom and Sara already gave me an earful."

She shook her head. "That wasn't what I was going to do." Realizing they were in the middle of the hallway where everyone could hear them, she pulled him into the nearby ballroom and looked at him. "I wanted to talk about what happened between us."

"There's nothing to talk about. You got rid of me and then forgot I even existed. I think that's the end of the story."

"I did not get rid of you," she told him. "I wanted you to live your own life before committing to this life. Ruling a kingdom takes so much work and I could not let you jump into it without letting go of your own life."

"Don't you think that maybe that wasn't your decision to make? I knew what I was getting myself into and I was fine with it. You're the one who wouldn't let me stay. It was like you just used me to get out of your wedding and when that happened, you just sent me home. I would've gladly given everything up to be with you but you didn't even give me the chance. How do you think that makes me feel?"

Rachel hesitated before speaking. "I did not realize that. I am sorry Noah. I honestly believed that it would be the best thing for you. I did not realize that you were truly upset by it. You seemed like you understood what I was doing and why I was doing it."

"I only acted that way because you had already made up your mind. I know you well enough to know that when you get something in your head, you stick to it and don't let it go. Plus I figured that maybe we could've made it through two years but then you just ended up forgetting about me."

"I did not forget about you," she shook her head. "Being a princess can be very time consuming and you had school, glee and football so you were equally as busy. We were doing great at first but then it just changed. If anything, you forgot about me."

Puck looked at her confused. "What are you talking about?"

"I called you after I realized how long it had been since we last spoke and when I got an answer, Santana answered the phone and told me that you two had spent the night together. After that, I was crushed and decided to never call again because you had clearly moved on."

He sighed when he remembered the night she was talking about. "I started feeling like crap because I felt like you basically dumped me since we didn't talk and you were always busy whenever I tried to call you. So I went to a party, got drunk and the next thing I knew I was waking up next to Santana. Of course she never told me that you called."

She frowned. "I guess we were both wrong. I should have never tried to decide your life for you."

"And I should've tried harder to get in touch with you. Look, I'm sorry for last night. I've just held in what I was feeling for so long and when I saw you, everything just came out."

"Yes my mother said that was probably the case and you are forgiven. Noah, you are here for the next month and I think that we should at least try to be civil towards one another."

"I think so too. So." He held out his hand. "Truce?"

Rachel smiled and nodded before shaking his hand. "Truce."

Now you know what happened to them. What do you think will happen with their newfound truce? Let me know your thoughts. Like I said, I'm going into finals so I will try update as soon as I can. Bye for now :)
