Chapter Nine
~ooOoo~
Yukio arrived at the Okumura mansion a little before twelve and was extremely glad he knew about the path that led straight to Rin's section of the house so he wouldn't have to go through the restaurant. He enjoyed the peaceful beauty of the gardens and strolled leisurely through them while faintly pondering where he was to go from there. The brunet didn't know which room he was supposed to meet the younger teen in, let alone if he would be able to find the room on his own. With a sigh he reached into his jacket pocket to pull out his cell phone to call the blue eyed boy to only have to put it straight back at the sight of the Okumura heir making his way towards him after turning a corner in the path. Rin waved cheerily at him with one hand while the other was in his sweat pants pocket.
The young genius chuckled as he waved back, it was truly comical to see the fluffy slippers the deadly and tough as nails clan leader was wearing.
"Oi, sorry I literally just realized that I didn't tell you were to go once you got here. It totally slipped my mind." The raven wore a wide grin as he stopped and waited for the brunet to reach him.
Yukio grinned back but replied dryly, "Well it was so early that neither of us were really paying attention to the details."
The younger boy only laughed as he led him back to the house. The green eyes teen was trying to focus on Rin's words, which centered on what they were having for lunch but kept getting distracted by the sight of his swaying hips and pert behind. The brunet was disgusted with his in the gutter thoughts; he had noticed that over the past week he had been watching the younger teen in a manner more and more inappropriate. Now the kiss... Well the kiss that just added to these thoughts since now he actually did know how soft the raven's pink lips were and how sweet he tasted. Yukio used herculean effort to take his eyes off Rin's ass and instead watch the back of his shaggy head as he tuned into the other teen's last words.
"We'll eat while discussing the plans. Sounds good, right?" The young genius nodded silently as he looked into the deep azure eyes now gazing back at him over a slender shoulder in a questioning manner.
The raven smiled widely when he saw the affirmative gesture as he opened the sliding doors to one of the rooms and grabbed his wrist to pull him behind him. Yukio enjoyed the feeling of the gentle fingers and after a quick glance around the room to happily find it empty pulled his wrist free only to reach forward to hold the smaller hand in his own.
He smirked as Rin glanced at him with a light blush and shy grin while rolling his eyes, "Weirdo."
Ignoring the raven's adorable petulant pout the green eyed teen made a sound of appreciation at the sight of the food laid on the table with several papers and what looked like floor plans. They sat across from each other with their hands still linked. Yukio began to eat and when he saw that Rin was starring wide eyed at their hands with a strange mixture of happiness and embarrassment he took pity on the younger teen and looked at the documents meaningfully. The blue eyed teen took the hint with noticeable relief and picked up one paper with his free hand.
"This is Mephisto's acceptance letter. He is agreeing to meet with both of our clans under the condition that we have it at a location and time of his choosing. He believes that I'm attempting to divide the territory between us like the former leader so he's set up the date only two weeks from now and he's chosen his brother's house as the location."
With a sigh he let the paper slip from his hand and picked up one of the sandwiches and took a big bite before continuing.
"The only problem is that his brother lives really close to the clown's mansion and that means that he has a lot of back up if even one of his entourage gets the chance to make a call."
Yukio nodded and pointed at the floor plans, "Would it be right to think that is a very detailed map of Amaimon's home."
Rin's grin was very was both mischievous and pleased, "Yup, it would be right to think so. Anyway, I have people looking into the security but I still want to scout the area. The damn thing is in the middle of the woods and that is a problem in terms of escape."
"Well, who are you bringing with you? Suguro-sama will most likely only bring me and the Shimas. You have your entire clan and if you need it we will bring more people. It would be better to have them get rid of his clan before or during the meeting so that leaving safely and no surprise backup doesn't necessary become a problem. You wanted them all dead anyway right?"
Blue eyes met his in slight surprise but he continued without a pause as a plan started to formulate in his mind, "You're right about the need to scout the woods. We need to find possible places he might put his men and places to put ours. Do you have anyone on the inside? Who might know his plans?"
The raven looked down with a slight frown as he tapped the table lightly, "No, he kept turning members of my own clan against me but I never tried to do the same. Shura and Izumo are very good at finding the information I need so I hardly ever need someone to be a mole for me,"
The younger teen ran his free hand roughly through his messy black locks in irritation leaving it in disarray, "But, this time it just might be necessary...I'll have them look into the possible weak links and if they find someone who suits our needs we'll use them."
The brunet rifled through the remaining papers only to see names listed, "Who are these people?"
"That's a list of everyone in that pathetic clan. They're listed under where they're likely to be on the night of the meeting. It's sort of a hit list to make sure we get everybody."
Yukio looked up with a grin, "Good, this insures no loose ends."
Rin gave him a faint smile before frowning and all he wanted to do was ease that frown away. Gosh, he needed to focus all of his attention on business. The young genius had been doing a pretty job so far since he had been distracted by his own tactical thoughts and yet one expression or gesture made by the younger teen could throw him completely off.
The raven soon provided a reason for his frown that was able to bring Yukio back to the very big problem at hand, "The thing is that is only the list of clan member's we know about...He probably has a bunch of members we don't know about and have to deal with later."
The brunet nodded since he could understand why this would be a concern. Although, they would be left without a leader and depleted resources they could become a problem if they were loyal enough to seek revenge or if they decide to start up another rival gang.
"Well, with two clan's looking for them I'm sure we'll be able to round them up rather quickly. At the most there will only be around ten or so because most people in the underworld are connected to someone which is known by everyone else to earn a certain degree. The numbers of those who claim not to be affiliated to any gang or are considered freelancers are very little and more than half are likely to be persuaded to be loyal to you."
"True, true...we'll deal with them afterward but I wish we could just finish it in one night instead of letting it drag on." Rin laid his head sideways on the table with a tired sigh and gazed blankly at their hands.
Yukio leaned forward until their eyes locked and he smiled reassuringly and spoke with confidence, "There's no need to worry. We have two weeks to figure out the finer details so we can execute a perfect plan. We have most of the information we already need. You also have my clan and myself to aid you. I won't let anyone harm you and I'm pretty good backup in dangerous situations."
The wide, sincere smile that the raven gave the older teen almost stopped his heart. It was too beautiful, too sweet, and dazzling. It was a flash of the true Rin, the one who enjoyed cooking and making others happy. And like the night before the brunet couldn't help but lean down to lightly kiss the smiling lips. So soft and sweet.
He made it a quick peck but the pleased blush on the younger boy's face made him smirk smugly while he asked a question to get back to and this time stay focused on the matter at hand, "When are we going to do the scouting mission?"
Azure eyes blinked dazedly before the teen responded. "Oh, sometime next week hopefully we'll have found someone to be a mole so we can look at specific areas."
Yukio nodded while he straightened in his seat again as a slightly depressing idea came to mind, "We should bring Bon. He needs to get use to you... again since after yesterday evening he's reverted to his original state. Only slightly worse since he feels he now has a logical reason to hate you. Being involved in this will make him feel needed especially if Suguro-sama really decides not to let him tag along."
Rin watched him in silent consideration before adding in almost solemn agreement, "He should come to the meeting...It'll be a good chance for him to see how the yakuza really operate. Bon needs to be in a life or death situation to lose the child like ideas he has about the business. For him to say he's ready is one thing but to do it is entirely different, the block head. Tell Suguro-sama I said that."
The brunet groaned lowly already not looking forward to that particular conversation, "I agree but he is not going to like that. He really is trying to keep Bon from seeing or doing anything related to the business. Suguro-sama only sent the kid because he thought this entire thing was going to be a total bust for him and the others."
He watched the raven smirk in satisfaction. "Of course it would have failed. But, you guys came at a time where it turns out I needed to make some allies and revealing the truth became unavoidable."
"Well, I can't say that it would have been a failure for me...I would have figured it out eventually once I had all the needed variables." Yukio couldn't help but observe.
He considered with slight irritation how that if he had been alone and not babysitting he would have dug up enough information to conclude that Rin was the actual leader of the Okumura's earlier. Playing 'school' had taken up time that could have been better spent investigating and he was slightly annoyed at all the obstacles that had been inflicted by Suguro-sama on him just to keep his selfish son happy.
"Oh, Four-eyes you look annoyed. I do think that you would have done better on your own though." The azure eyed teen watched him with a bemused grin as if he almost knew the older boy's thoughts as he drank from cup of tea he had poured for himself. The raven gestured to the pot in a silent offer but the brunet refused with a silent shake of his head as he looked down at the list of names.
"So, should we split the list between both the families?" The green eyed teen asked after taking a look at how far apart the locations were from each other.
"Ah...Why not? That would make it easier instead of just giving it to everyone and telling them to have at. I mean two groups might end up at one of the places and no one at another."
Rin agreed lazily as he glanced briefly at the sheets spread over the table while brushing off some of the crumbs from the food.
"Give them an area and they can wipe out any location located in the vicinity.'
"Sounds good, I'll just give Suguro-sama a call to keep him updated. Although he didn't say it I have a feeling he was irritated that I didn't have anything useful to say last night."
Yukio stood while slipping out his cell phone and gently releasing Rin's slender hand. He grinned when the younger teen gave him a quick pout before a mischievous smirk made its way onto his delicate features.
"He waited? Wow, now just what did you tell him when he asked why it took you so long?"
The raven's amused coo was heavy with eager anticipation, "How did you manage to lie your way out of that one?"
Yukio looked at him dryly, "Well, he didn't actually ask me, Bon did. I simply told them that you had set up a later date for discussion and that the reason I was so delayed was because you asked that only those at the meeting be informed. This of course wasn't the case because Bon had already told everyone in his rants."
He rolled his eyes and went through his contact list while wondering closer to the door gazing out into the lush grounds.
"Oh, poor Bon. He was bound to be upset about that. You didn't have to embarrass him like that, you know?"
The azure eyed teen's tone was scolding with a hint of pity for the blond streaked teen but the brunet could see he had enjoyed hearing that the Suguro heir been put on the spot. Even though the raven was amused Yukio had seen a flash of wariness in his bright orbs at the mention of Bon telling the others the truth about him.
As he placed the dialing phone against his ear he causally added while glancing at the younger teen from the corner of his eye, "None of them really cared. They were shocked but more upset about the fact that Bon kept bad mouthing you. Shima and Miwa really had the most shocking reactions."
The young genius was happy that those two were more mature and reasonable but he couldn't stand the spark of irritation he had felt when the pinket had been so passionate about defending the raven. It was hard to get the youngest Shima to be serious about anything relating to the clan and he probably wasn't the only one taken by surprise when the usually easy going teen had instantly snapped like that. Especially towards young Suguro heir who he had always seemed to respect and had willingly followed since they were kids. The fact the pinket had sided with someone he had only known for a couple of weeks over someone he had known his entire life had put Yukio in a bad mood. Shima shouldn't have been so attached to his Rin, even if the younger teen was someone extremely easy to like.
The green eyed teen grumbled at his own thoughts but was happy when a surprised but pleased grin lit up the younger teens face, "Shima and Koneko?! I can only imagine what they must have done to surprise someone like you."
Rin's expression became instantly lighter at whatever he was currently thinking about and he absently played with his cup with a tiny twitch of his lips into a half smile.
oOo
Shura strutted confidently with her hands on her hips followed by an irritated Izumo who was currently grumbling about how the red head's sloth like tendencies made them late on their report to Rin. But the voluptuous woman knew that the blue eyed teen would appreciate the time alone with the four eyes. It made her happy to know that he had made friends and was most likely starting a relationship with Yukio. There was happiness and yet the inexplicable fear and anxiety made itself known by the way her gut twisted. The raven didn't take to people quickly, hell it was a whole year before he even spoke to her and the indigo haired woman and yet in a few weeks he was already so enamored and affectionate. It was a scary thought, her little Rin-chan in love with someone in another clan they didn't know anything about.
Well they did, but all they knew was that he was extremely intelligent and very good at killing. Shura doubted she would have to worry about the brunet physically hurting him now that they were allies with the Suguro clan but the blue eyed boy was a damaged child and when he loved he did it with everything he had. And when he broke he was left utterly shattered with hardly any chance to be put back together again. This only brought on one of her earliest memories of the child.
oOo
The young teen followed her friend at a sedate pace. Izumo spoke in an excited voice with her shoulder length indigo hair swishing as she turned to look over her shoulder with bright violet eyes. They had only recently been informed that after five years there would finally be a child amongst the Okumura household and it would be their responsibility to care for him. Rin...Shura was actually quite jovial herself but unlike the indigo haired girl she was better at controlling her emotions. She prided herself on being Shiro's best student. But even though they had been told their leader's son had been spared the sight of any bloodshed the green eyed teen still feared for his condition. Add in the fact that two teen girls were basically going to be left to raise a child with no experience who was likely very sad and closed off after his mother's death. She sighed deeply as she crossed her hands behind her head.
They entered a silent room. Okumura-sama gave them his gentle smile that transformed his normally stoic face but there was such a strong sadness and grief in his amazing azure eyes that she could hardly manage a tiny grin back. The man was so beautiful and exotic and his wife had been just as gorgeous and elegant with the kindest heart. The red head felt slightly bad for Rin, with such beautiful and life changing parents who had such a humongous effect on people with only a glance. The poor boy had a lot of expectations to live up to and she knew she was one of those waiting to meet something amazing. Igor gave them his look that clearly said he barely tolerated their presence which instantly subdued Izumo. This usually pissed the red head off on epic proportions but she let it go, only for today. And usually she didn't cuss the one eyed man off in front of Okumura-sama because she didn't want to hear him scold her.
Shura was glad they didn't have to wait long before the door was opened yet again and two people entered the room. Shiro of course entered with a big smile and an even bigger exclamation while the tiny child holding onto his hand only quietly scanned the room. The red head took the time to study Rin since she could only assume that was who this child was and he was certainly living up to the expectation. Beautifully pale milky skin with striking black hair that had a faint bluish tint. Wide doe like azure eyes framed by impossibly thick and long eyelashes watched them all carefully while shell pink lips in a strangely pursed thinking expression as introductions were made and the situation explained. Damn, the kid looked like a tiny replica of his mother with a slender body and distinctly feminine features.
The red head was extremely shocked to see the reactions the boy had to his father. He at first cutely shied behind Shiro's legs and then opened his mouth. Cruel and cold...Detached and emotionless. Obviously someone had gotten the facts wrong. Rin had seen something bad enough to make the tiny five year old seem almost twenty years older as he rejected his father.
When they had finally gotten to the branch house Shiro left both of the young girls to get 'acquainted' with the tiny raven. Bastard, Shura sneered as she watched his currently retreating back. The coward had chosen to leave the hard stuff to them. How were they gonna talk to the kid after that awkward discussion?
Three months later
Rin in the beginning had been a lot like Igor. He had tolerated their presence and complied with most of their wishes but when they had started insisting on him wearing traditional clothing he rebelled. The raven had refused in the coldest voice she had ever heard a person let alone a child use with narrowed eyes that cut like a blade as he almost sort of looked down at them in contempt contrary to the fact that he was less than half their size. Poor Izumo had actually been driven to tears the day before because of how dismissive and brusque he was to them.
Even though the violet eyed girl annoyed Shura constantly on her bad habits she was still like a sister to the green eyed girl and she was the one who had to protect her. This lead to her bursting into the child's room violently with blue yukata and white obi in hand. The raven only spared her a quick glance before focusing on the floor like he had been before. The red head couldn't understand how in a room full of toys, a real life child's dream room the emotionless boy could sit in the middle of the room without even touching one.
"Oi! I will no longer be listening to your little 'No'.You will put this on now!" Shura roared hoping to scare the boy into submission with no such luck. He raised a brow almost mockingly as if to say 'that's the best you can do?'
This of course only inflamed her anger to greater heights. Hissing menacingly she advanced with heavy stomps and gnashing teeth. Rin didn't even react he actually turned away with a derisive snort of dismissal.
The red head grabbed his shoulder and turned him around to face her; the raven actually looked impressed with her bravery and lightly touched his slender fingers to her offending hand and spoke softly, "You must be terribly upset about something to react like this simply because I refuse to wear those clothes."
It wasn't a question but rather confident statement and his blue eyes looked up to meet hers. Slightly amused but otherwise unaffected, the boy was completely maddening.
"Oh hell yeah I'm mad! There have been literal tears shed over your arrogant and completely callous attitude. You are going to wear these clothes even if I have to force you into them." The red head kept her voice at an angry hiss just to avoid more shouting that might result in guards showing up.
"No." Now the child didn't even try to hide the glare of absolute loathing as he glared at the offending cloth.
"WHY?!" Shura roared finally at a loss because even if she forced him into the yukata he could just take it off and the fact that the kid had been training to fight since he could walk and after seeing him in action the red head would admit he was a fucking scary ass kid.
Surprisingly Rin's face became consumed by despair and grief and he looked down. Shura was completely floored as she felt his tiny body tremble. "I...Mom said she would be the first to pick out my yukata when we came back. She was...Excited over something so mundane but I...Can't..."
The raven's voice was shaky, so unlike anything she had heard from before and then he had to look up at her. His beautiful blue eyes shining with tears that he wasn't willing to shed.
Shura slowly wrapped her arms around him while pulling the tiny body onto his lap. They sat there for along time and he didn't cry she had no idea what kind of thoughts must be running through his head and was slightly concerned. And when he finally pulled himself out of her arms all he did was quietly change into the yukata and look at her expectantly when he wasn't able to figure out how to tie the obi.
oOo
Damn, the red head sighed as she pulled herself from the memories of a heart broken Rin. She threw open a door violently to reveal the objects of her current thoughts; Yukio stood by the porch door glancing at her before finishing his call and walking back to the table where Rin sprawled lazily while watching the older teen with a small smile. She watched the young genius with narrowed green eyes, if he hurt her Rin, even made him cry once she would have to kill him. It was official. Now, all she had to do was warn him about his potentially messy end if he slipped up.
The raven final acknowledge their entrance when Izumo spoke to him affectionately with a weary apology and smirked before gesturing elegantly with his slender hand for them to come to the table with a jovial but lazy drawl, "It's fine I understand, Shura is pretty hard to deal with. What you got there?"
The red head shot him a look with no real heat but knew she had to get away from those serious thoughts about Rin potentially falling in love and said saucily with a hint of arrogant offense, "What are you two saying about me? I'm perfect the way I am and I think we arrived just in time. You have debriefed the four eyes on our info, right?"
Ignoring the irritated glance Yukio shot her she strolled to the table with her hips swaying to sit next to Rin.
"Hmm...I can't say I don't agree," The raven sent the brunet a look smirking but there was a certain warmth in his eyes that made her heart clench painfully.
God it hurt to see this, all Shura wanted to do was take away the emotions that might wind up hurting him but at the same time she wanted to cry in relief that the little boy she had practically raised fall in love and had a chance to be happy.
Rin glanced at both the red head and Izumo with a mischievous smirk and spoke in a coo, "Oh yes, I have enlightened him and we even got as far as to making some very basic plans that will need some fine tuning later."
Izumo rolled her eyes while tossing the papers she had brought on the table and crossed her arms. "We got the visuals of those likely to be at the meeting with Mephisto. It's not a whole lot but he'll have tons of armed men in those woods that may pose a problem."
Her voice was tense and irritated and Shura agreed with the violet eyed woman. Rin's plans were always well thought out but this situation seemed to put them at a greater disadvantage the more steps they took into it. Fuck, they really shouldn't have given the clown the choice of choosing home turf.
The raven on the other hand didn't even look phased but rather pleased as his smile stretched into a wicked grin as he went through the pictures and slowly picked one up, "No need to fret, Yukio and I have decided to scout the area as well as find a mole to give us some on advice on where to send our back up. And I think I found our mole."
Rin practically purred as he turned the paper around to reveal the image of a young man with strange golden eyes and spiked green hair crunching on a lollipop. "Would it be right to assume this is Amaimon?"
"Yes, but that means he's Mephisto's brother and when I say is extremely devotedto the clownI mean as in ready to die for him." Izumo's dark purple eyes flashed wearily as she spoke slowly as if trying to make him understand a difficult concept.
"That's true." Rin's grin turned positively sadistic as he looked up at them with laughing azure eyes. "It just so happen I met him this morning and I'm sure he found me attractive or at least his reaction led me to believe so. I also think he recognizes me as a part of the Okumura clan but obviously doesn't know I'm the leader."
"A bit cocky, aren't we?" Shura watched him closely even though she spoke with a mocking tone and smirk. "How exactly to you plan on tricking him into giving you information? I doubt you plan to bribe."
"You would be right to think that. I actually plan to play the innocent victim, complete with teary eyes and desperate pleas."
The raven gave them a familiar half smirk while letting the paper slip from his finger and back into the pile. "It'll be simple I'll go back every morning, strike up conversation and eventually we'll get to the topic of the meeting considering I'll recognize his name and I'll look troubled enough for him to ask me what's wrong with concern."
"Why would the upcoming meeting trouble you, though? The cover is that it's meant to avoid conflict and although you are in Okumura clan and son of the former leader you haven't been outwardly involved in anything." Yukio asked calmly but Shura was surprised and amused by the flash of irritation in his eyes and had she not been thinking the same thing she would have teased him accusingly of being jealous.
It also might be better to wait to mock them until their relationship was official. She wouldn't want to ruin things by making them feel awkward around each other.
Rin gazed at the brunet with interest and curiosity that made him cock his head cutely before smiling; the red head would have to guess that he had caught the flash in his forest green eyes and seemed pleased about the reaction if his smug grin was any indication.
"Well, I was thinking of going with the current clan leader bringing me along to gain experience since the clan is my future and being nervous about my first meeting. And if I'm right his little crush might lead him to warning me about the danger or bringing me to his place which means I could scout that area out a bit better. Either way it's a win, win situation." The raven looked extremely pleased with himself as he rifled through the rest of the images Izumo brought.
The indigo haired woman contrary to Rin's assurances looked worried and slightly annoyed as she fumed, "Or it could be a very dangerous situation where he tells you nothing, tries to attack you, or becomes suspicious."
Izumo angrily grabbed all the papers off the table while scattering the crumbs and started sorting them with sharp and irritated movements.
The azure boy only shook his head sadly, "Oh ye of little faith."
He turned to the red head and Yukio with expectant eyes and although Shura would have usually backed him up her maternal instincts screamed in refusal. When he went into life threatening assignments there was always the assurance that they would be there to back him up. This plan held no assurances and that trouble the green eyed woman deeply even though she knew that he was more than capable of taking of himself. With a guilty frown she looked down and ruffled her hair while avoiding the piercing blue eyes. Shura winced at the delicate but familiar snort of disbelief but glanced up to watch the brunet's reaction.
Yukio kept his face completely blank and spoke with professionally detached calm, "I have to say I agree with your plan. It's perfectly logical if you're correct about his level of infatuation with you."
His green eyes took on a fierce conviction and tone became husky with contained emotion, "But I would prefer also if we sought a different avenue. Your safety is our first priority above anything else."
This heated declaration halted everyones movements and Shura was shocked to see Rin who had been previously watching their reactions with his head resting in his hand in a bored manner drop his hand in shock with wide blue eyes before his expression transformed into something that stopped her heart. The raven's usually guarded or lazily uninterested air disappeared completely to reveal the gentlest expression she had ever seen on his face. Dark eyelashes dropped to half-mast and azure eyes seemed to melt with pink lips stretched into the most perfect smile while his elegant finger moved to lightly stoke the brunet's cheek lightly with affection before he abruptly dropped his hand and his face again became an arrogant mask.
"Well it's a good thing that I make the decisions around here. So, what I said is the official plan." And he almost dismissively looked back down at the table before casting his bored gaze back to her and Izumo.
Shura was still studying the brunet; his head was tipped down so his eyes were covered by his bangs hiding the only truly expressive part of his face. But the short time she had seen his eyes they had been filled with complete awe and almost desperate want. This eased some of her worries and she decisively stood while yanking the violet eyed woman up with her, interrupting her as she asked what he had decided with Yukio.
"We'll talk later about the plans he already made. Let's go!" With a sharp pull she dragged the reluctant woman behind her and smiled. They deserved more time alone especially since things were getting busy.
oOo
Rin watched the woman depart with a slight curiosity. Was Shura really angry about his decision to go against what she thought was best? It couldn't be that, although the red head had left abruptly with a disgruntled Izumo he had seen a hint of a smile on her face. He shrugged off but then berated himself for his brief lack of control. Yukio had spoken with such honesty and his green eyes had been so serious as he had spoken about how keeping the raven safe was their first priority being above a more logical plane that he had for a short time felt the strangely strong feelings he felt the older teen well up. The clan leader could tell by everyone's reactions that it had showed on his face although no one had commented but then again Shura's rushed exit was a cause of worry of how she took his very oblivious display of affection even if it was a small one.
There was really no need to dwell on it he quickly concluded. The red head would eventually tell him in a very blunt and teasing manner what she thought about what she had seen. The raven smiled slightly before looking up at Yukio who had been watching him while he watched the older woman leave.
The expression grew brighter and he spoke with a bright laugh, "Haha, she's like a storm. You really don't know how to recover from her sudden appearance and departure."
The older teen grinned slightly at the statement and nodded sagely as he took off his glasses to wipe on his shirt, "It would seem so. She has presence."
Rin snorted delicately, "That's an understatement of epic proportions..." The brunet's smile only widened in response and he found himself watching the older teen intently.
Yukio really was so incredibly handsome and he adored the three beauty marks on his face and absently wondered if he had anymore elsewhere on his body but he had a feeling the older man didn't really appreciate them considering his personality. The green eyed teen noticed the staring and glanced up at him with slight interest with an eyebrow raised in a slightly inquisitive manner. Their eyes locked and the young clan leader found himself content to just gaze into the deep emerald green eyes. They were beautifully expressive when the older teen allowed them to be and a selfish part of Rin wanted for him to be the only one that saw this side of Yukio.
As he considered the comfortable situation he decided it was time to bring something up that had been bothering him all night. But now the azure eyed teen would need to find a way to broach the topic; he wasn't the type to skirt around an issue and usually took the more head on, in your face route thanks to Shura. In slow almost lazy movements as he stalled for time to figure out how to word the question Rin rearranged himself so that he sat with his elbows on the table and his head cradled in his hands.
In a slightly worried tone he asked, "You do know what I meant by 'lovers' last night, right?"
The raven bowed his head in slight embarrassment since he now found himself unable to look into the eyes that may reveal something he might not like to see at all. He ran one hand slowly over his face and into his hair to ruffle his hair to cover his face even more.
"I don't want there to any misunderstanding between us..." The azure eyed teen continued but trailed almost petulantly when his words didn't even gain a small reaction from his words.
No twitch or jolt or even a small sound to give a clue to what Yukio was thinking. Damn it all, the man was too well trained. Sure he didn't want to see but he at least expected to hear a hint of a reaction.
"Rin." The young clan leader felt his body clench at the calm and deep voice but he still didn't raise his head. "Rin look at me." The genuine amusement and affection in the older boy's voice caused him to peek up shyly to see the gentle smile on the brunet's face.
Rin couldn't help but blush as Yukio laughed transforming his usually stoic face and continued, "I understand what you mean and what you meant. Then and now."
The raven could only blink as the wide smile disappeared as a smug, almost arrogant expression took over the eyed teen, "I was planning to pursue you romantically anyways but learning yesterday that the feelings I have for you are mutual...Makes things easier. You belong to me and I to you."
"Baka!" Rin blushed furiously while looking to the side in embarrassed exasperation as he pushed back from the table to lean on the floor with a pout. He hadn't expected to hear such romantic declarations from the older teen. In contrast though he was relieved no more words were needed. He had never found it easy to express his emotions verbally without completely messing it up.
The statement said in his most arrogant tone only seemed to increase the young genius's amusement since he only chuckled and his manner became strangely (at least for the most collected person on earth) teasing as he gestured with one finger for him to come closer, "Would the 'big, scary boss' like to come a little closer?"
The raven pursed his lips but got up to sit next to him with a faint plop and pout. Rin was only a bit surprised when he felt a strong arm slip around his waist and finger tips lightly tracing circles on his exposed hip bone. Yukio was a lot more assertive than the younger teen would have expected but after last night he knew to expect more direct and confident actions from him. He slowly rolled his head to the right and his nose was buried against the green eyed teen's broad shoulder. The azure eyed teen couldn't help but smile as he felt the brunet bury his face into his messy black hair.
Rin almost lazily moved to rest his chin on the older teen's shoulder and looked into the eyes he wasn't able to earlier and drawled, "I am really scary you know...Ask anyone."
"I know." Yukio answered simply.
His deep green eyes sparkling with mirth as he leaned down to connect their lips. After a few soft pecs and nibbles the raven pouted in annoyance and the brunet finally conceded to his raised brow and expectant eyes with a husky chuckle. The kiss was slow and languid with none of the possessive aggression and extremely enjoyable and he hummed in contentment as their tongues moved slowly against each other. It was a slow warmth that spread through his body and the raven leaned deeper into Yukio's warmth and he smiled against the brunet's mouth when the hand not occupied with his hip moved to slide across his face and bury itself in his hair. The older teen really had some obsession with his hair, always touching and pulling it.
The warm peace was only disrupted when the door slid open again, though not violently. Rin broke the kiss to look at the door with his eyes raised to the ceiling ready to hear Shura's cackling laugh and teasing taunts. Only it wasn't Shura it was Ginta and Tetsou. The young spirited dark haired man looked slightly lost and confused while the the silver haired man looked tense and was slightly murderous if the fact he was already reaching for the katana at his hip was any indication. But, this was just a guess since he was relying on their body language since they wore their masks.
The raven waved them back since they had begun to approach with a rather determined air as he untangled himself from Yukio's limbs but wasn't able to move completely away since the brunet was stubbornly keeping his hand on his hip.
"Whoa...Calm down, Ginta and Tetsou don't look so lost. You're making me feel like I abandoned you in the rain." Rin spoke in a mocking coo as he settled himself comfortably against the green eyed teen who was calmly studying his body guards after retrieving his glasses off the table.
"Now... what to do with these two?" The azure eyed teen hummed while tapping his chin. "You really ought to knock."
