Getting To Know You

Chapter 7

Darbus had – much to Sharpay's disapproval- commissioned the show. Senior Year was on. Now it was a case of getting the other Wildcats to join in.

"Guys come on," pleaded Kelsi. "This is our last year. This musical is about our last year."
"I'll be taking my finals two or three times," argued Jason.

"I have two recipes to nail for my home Ec final," added Zeke.
"We have yearbook," stated Taylor. "So no."

"I'm in," smiled Gabriella. "Kelsi's right next year we'll all be off to university who knows where. This is our last chance to do something like this together. We should be all in this together."

Everyone raised their voices and started arguing about it. Kelsi watched as Gabriella looked to Troy.

"I'm in," he said.

Kelsi mentally cheered, if Troy was in then everyone would fall into line. Gabriella ran round the piano to hug Troy.

"We don't even have to start the rehearsals yet," said Kelsi. "I know you guys have decathlon meets to do and the championship. I still need to finish a few songs and ideas and the whole thing needs choreograph. I just want to go though the concept and ideas with you and see if you guys have anything you want to pitch it."

Everyone nodded and sat down. Sharpay spent most of the time rolling her eyes and scoffing but everyone else agreed with the ideas.

The basketball loved the idea of a basketball number. Everyone like the prom number - except for the fact they'd have to dance.

"What about the opener?" asked Sharpay, hinting for her chance to shine.

Kelsi smiled and headed to the piano and began to play Last Chance and let the words flow out of her mouth.

"It's our last chance to share the stage before we go our separate ways,"

Ryan's voiced joined in as he walked round and the piano.

"High school wasn't meant to last forever,"

He winked at her, she smiled and their voices finished the last two lines, harmoniously together.

"It's our last chance for us to shine to bring you music one more time,"

"So come on come on come on come on come on come on,"

The last note finished and she spun round.

"Then we'll jump straight into the basketball number."

Sharpay opened her mouth.

"Shar you have a number it's just a working progress," said Ryan.

She scowled but nodded.

Everyone huddled together and carried on talking till the bell rang for next lesson. As they left Ryan caught Kelsi's eye and winked.
