Author's Note: I'd really like to apologize to everyone for not updating my stories. It's just a bit hard to adjust to adulthood (cries inside). This shot is inspired by a Strokes song, "Modern Girls and Old-Fashioned Men". It was supposed to be funny, but my beta reader told me it was rather depressing. Oh, well. I'll try to write 'funny' again once I develop a good sense of humor (laughs). I hope you guys will enjoy this little drabble.

so fucking help me up,"

His voice was louder than hers, but she managed to equalize his intensity as she reached an octave, sharing the same articulation and eloquent choice of words. Members of the band had already exited the recording room, unable to withstand this bout, once again.
And so when all of them attempted to leave the room as well, Mimi threatened their friendship with her stilettos. Sitting back on the couch, they were forced to watch the couple break into hell.
Hikari winced at the scene on front of her, yet to realize the situation. Yamato and Mimi were both at the other side of the small studio, separated by a glass. They seemed to have forgotten to take off their headsets, so the rest of them were hearing their argument through the speakers.
She couldn't believe they were fighting just before their duet; she could not believe Yamato blew up just because Mimi went for her own singing style instead of his instructions.
She wanted to go in between them, but Mimi had just thrown off the microphone stand, started shrieking about how too controlling Yamato is. In turn, Yamato started telling her how flirtatious she is with boys, especially with his bandmates.
Hence, the fight about 'Mimi-not-following-what-Yamato-had-instructed' turned into something else. Oh boy, oh boy.
The unwanted, painful noise made Koushiro jump a little from his seat, but it finally earned his attention. Looking up from his laptop to the couple, he could not help but contemplate how on earth both Yamato and Mimi came up with those conclusions.
With nothing more but good intentions in mind, the redhead tried to pipe in the couple's argument by knocking on the window, but he quickly retaliated and forgot his words as Mimi once again threatened him with her four-inched dagger of a shoe. No to peacemaking, then.
Takeru pondered, looking for a comparison to his older brother and Mimi; too healthy to be a Sid and Nancy, too unhealthy to be a John and Yoko…
Kurt and Courtney? Pete and Kate? he wondered, but none of the famous couples he had thought of came close to them, since neither were really using drugs... or are they? They fought so often about the smallest of things, and Takeru couldn't help if one of them (if not both) were on meth.
Nah.. he shook his head, then returned his eyes to them. He put a palm over his face, couldn't help but feel embarrassed as he heard his brother telling Mimi to "go fuck yourself".
Sigh.
Sora was unsurprised; this was something that frequently happened. She had always taken note of how passionate Yamato and Mimi were – as individuals and as lovers. To the redhead, this was a sign that they were very much passionate about each other, even though Mimi had just called Yamato a "control-freak" and a "selfish-bastard".
Upon hearing those words, Sora was about to go to them, but found that Mimi was already crying. It only meant that Yamato was just a hiccup away to an apology, and then everything will be back to normal.
This would be over in a few, thought Sora. She knew both of them too well. They'll patch up soon, I'm sure! Trying to remain hopeful, she averted her eyes from the couple, asked Taichi about his soccer practice instead.
Taichi, however, was too angry to listen to Sora. How everyone's being supportive of the very self-destructive couple was just beyond him. I mean, even Sora and I are so much better as a couple! If he was going to blame anyone though, it was going to be Mimi. Duh, it's Mimi's fault.
She can be really too touchy-feely with boys. Heck, because of this Tachikawa quirk, Yamato started to give warnings to him and Koushiro – telling them not to tolerate Mimi's too-intimate antics.
And so, Taichi shared this little non-thought to Sora, who in turn did not agree with him. He could not help but get offended, especially when she said it was Yamato's fault for reading too much into Mimi's actions. He could not help but defend his opinion, and carelessly told Sora that she's being too biased.
Yamato looked up to the other side of the room. He blushed, realizing that they were watching the whole time. On his farthest left, his girlfriend was weeping in between sniffles. He rolled his eyes. So it's my fault for being such a protective and caring boyfriend, he thought to himself.
Gah.
Running a hand through his golden mane, he let out a sigh, could not believe he was going to let her win again.
He stood up from the stool, walked towards the brunette, muttered his sorry as he offered his handkerchief.
But Mimi could sense the insincerity in his voice. If it were another time, another place, she'd play hard-to-get, especially when a few minutes ago he had told her she was a flirt – it was not her fault she's so wanted! – but not today, especially when she and Yamato owed their friends their duet version of "Yume no Tsubasa".
She took the gingham piece of cloth from his hand, looking upwards to his face. And, okay, she could not ignore his puppy eyes. How unfair. She threw herself at Yamato, unable to resist him. Maybe she'd stop being too friendly with dear Yama-kun's drummer as well.
Their cuddling was put to a stop when Takeru came into the room, and said in a very agitated voice,
"I don't want to interrupt your peace treaty, but Sora-chan is about to hit Taichi-kun with a tennis racket."
Author's Note: "Yume no Tsubasa" is a song from Tsubasa Chronicle, sang by Irino Miyu and Makino Yui. Surprisingly it sounds like a song both Yamato and Mimi will agree on singing together. Hehe.
