Rose and Christian walked quietly together, browsing the store. It was Rose's day off and she had asked Christian to come with her, without Dimitri and Lissa knowing. Two guardians stood about twenty metres away watching their backs. Even though she was off duty Rose still wore an ear piece and unknown to the guardians Christian wore one too. Anytime they went out somewhere Rose always gave him one. If Dimitri had been one of guardians with them he would have known but Christian had it arranged that he was with Lissa today.

"You do realise that Belikov and Lissa are gonna kill you and then kill me for going along with it right?" Christian asked and Rose just smirked at him.

"You scared sparky?"

"Of Belikov and Lissa, hell yes. You would be stupid not to," he replied, causing Rose to nod her head in agreement.

"True but we both know neither will really hurt you. Its more me that they are going to kill, then Lissa will bring me back so they can kill me again."

Christian laughed. "Good point but I'm not sure either could find it in themselves to ever really kill you."

"True."

Rose's name was called and she stepped forward, sitting on the human tattooist's chair.

"What are you after miss?" The human male asked gruffly. He was a big man cover with tattoos but both Rose and Christian knew that Rose could take him, hell Rose thought Christian could take him.

Rose pulled up her sleeves and took off her chotki. "I want a cross exactly like this one where this would normally be if I were wearing it and the crest on my wrist, under where it would normally be tied up as well with Dragomir written underneath the crest."

The man nodded and got to work. An hour later he had finished and wrapped it up in a baggage as per Rose's request. "Is that all miss?"

Rose shook his head and gave him a piece of paper, causing Christian to raise his eyebrow, curious as to what was on the paper at Rose but she pointedly ignored him.

"Sure thing," the man said and set to tattooing Rose's other arm, this time however Rose made sure that Christian couldn't see what was getting tattooed on her.

It took a little bit longer then Rose's other arm but soon enough it was finished and again wrapped up. Rose paid and the two left, going to get some things Dimitri, Mia and Lissa had asked them to get for them while they were out.

"So are you gonna tell me what you got tattooed so secretively?" Christian asked as they walked into the supermarket and got a shopping trolley,

"Nope," Rose replied, putting a whole heap of donuts in the trolley.

"Do you really need that many Rose?"

"Yes I do. Do you know how boring Lissa's meetings are? I need a rewards for not killing anyone after listening to Royal Moroi go on and on about nothing for hours on end. I swear they will send her crazy before spirit ever gets the chance to."

"I actually agree with you. She's kicked me out of tomorrows after I threatened Adrian's dad yesterday."

"He deserves it," Rose glowered, thinking about his horrible comments she was told he said about Dhampirs, women in particular.

"Yeah well he got kicked out too, but for a month," Christian smirked.

Rose shook her head. "Lissa's gonna cop a lot a criticism for that."

"Thankfully she had Adrian, Jill, Ariana, Sonya and Adrian's mum's support. Seriously he was being such a dick."

"I'm glad I had that meeting with Hans then." Rose shook her head. "I never thought I would hear myself say that."

"No one would."

They continued in silence. Both of them felt comfortable enough that they didn't need to talk about everything, or make side comments after all these last few years but neither would own up to the fact they were friends, even to their immediate circle of friends and family.

"Do you remember when I came back from Russia and we saw each other for the first time after that?" Rose asked suddenly as they stood in line to pay for the groceries.

"Yeah."

"Well I just never said thank you I guess. You know for putting Adrian in his place while I was gone and looking after Lissa."

"Anytime, actually no take us with you next time. I'm not sure all our hearts could take it having to think we could potentially lose you again."

"I promise," Rose smiled, deciding not to give him a hard time about missing her. "But of course I want to be involved in any crazy schemes you guys think of in return."

Christian snorted. "You'd have to give us a chance to think of them. No all of us can think about breaking people out of prison or finding the last Dragomir on the spot you know. "

Rose's face went dark then and she looked away while Christian hit his head with his hand.

"Shit, sorry Rose I forgot."

"It's ok. Besides we both know it's true. You can't always be as amazing as me."

Christian laughed. "I think I'm pretty close Rosie."

"Pyro I will chop them off if you call me that again," Rose said pleasantly, making Christian smirk.

"Nah, you want me and Lissa to have kids first."

Rose rolled her eyes and didn't bother to reply. They paid for the groceries and started to pack them away into the trolley.

"I am sorry Rose. I wasn't thinking," He said quietly, grabbing her arm, right above the tattoos, stopping her.

"It's ok Christian, really. It's just hard sometimes, thinking of what I did," she said, smiling sadly up at him.

"I know Rose."

They finished loading the trolley and made their way to the car.

As soon as they got home they packed away the groceries, after thanking the guardians for escorting them to the shops.

"You know I'm glad Lissa wasn't there otherwise we would still be in the first shop," Rose said, lying back on the couch and sighed. "I love this couch."

"I know," Christian said drily, sitting on the other side. "I keep expecting you to get Dimitri to take it back your loungreroom."

"I tried but then I remembered I get free food over here."

"It's good to know that's why you visit us Rose," Lissa said, walking into the room, Dimitri right behind her.

"Did you two have a fun day out?" Dimitri asked, hanging his duster up on the coat rack.

"See Rose I told you that's what you did with jackets," Christian said, smirking at her.

"It was good and pyro why would I do that and make you work less. You really are a good little housewife."

"Stop," Lissa warned as Christian opened his mouth to reply.

"Rose what is that on your arm?" Dimitri asked, looking suspiciously at the bandage poking out beneath her jacket.

"A bandage comrade, you know something one might use to wrap a wound, tattoo, sore wrist or a number of things," she replied, looking back up at him, her face in her guardian mask.

"So which one of those would apply to you?"

"Well I do think that would be the tattoo bit of the answers listed previously."

"Why?" Lissa exclaimed then wheeled on Christian. "Why did you let her?!"

"Hey I have no control over Rose, no one but the two of you do," he replied, holding his hands up in surrender.

"How about I show you the tattoos and then you go back to yelling at Pyro?" Rose suggested, smirking slightly.

Lissa nodded, while Dimitri hide whatever he was feeling under his guardian mask.

Rose took of her jacket and undid the first bandage, revealing the cross, Dragomir crest and the word Dragomir underneath.

"Oh Rose," Lissa said softly.

"I figured that I couldn't always wear the choki and I wanted to show that I would always be your guardian," Rose said, as Lissa throw her arms around her.

"I don't approve but thank you so much Rose. I means a lot," Lissa said, pulling back minutes later.

Rose wiped a tear away from Lissa's face. "I'm proud to be your guardian and I want everyone to know that."

"What's on the other one Roza?" Dimitri asked.

"I want to know too," Christian added.

Rose unwrapped the baggage and showed them all the two tattoos, making them all stare at it in shock.

On the inside of her forearms she got a lion engraved, the symbol of the Ozera's but she got it surrounded in flames, and underneath she had C. Ozera tattooed on her arm.

"This is my other charge, even through it's unoccical it makes in none the less true and I want everyone to know it, even if Christian is a Storigti wannabe."

Christian smirked. "Nah you don't taste that good for me to consider turning Rosie."

"I'm gonna cut it off seriously if you call me that one more time Pyro."

Dimitri wrapped his arms around Rose and kissed her on the top of her head.

"That was a very nice thing you did for him Roza," he said softly into her ear.

"He's my brother. I have to show my support somehow," she replied. She looked over at Christian and Lissa, who both smiled at her. Rose knew they had heard her because she meant it. Christian was her brother and she would always have his back.
