Ok so I'll admit that I'm a little short on ideas at the moment so I'd really appreciate it if someone had ideas for a one shot (or two shot, or follow up) let me know please!
"Aunty Rosey why do you call daddy sparky?" Christian's and Lissa's four year old daughter asked Rose, looking up at her with her innocent green eyes, her black hair a mess, curtsy of Christian, who was on the lounge, watching the two of them.
"Well it's because your father's element is fire and he likes bright sparkly things, and lighting up bright sparkling things," Rose replied, as the little girl jumped up and down on her lap.
"Why does Daddy call you Rosey Aunty Rosey?"
"Because he is a pain in the –"
"Language Rose," Dimitri interrupted, looking at her disapprovingly.
"Not my fault that he is comrade and for your information I was going to say butt, not what you have just so rudely accused me off."
"No nice," Ruby-Rose scolded him, jumping to Rose's defence. "Aunty Rose didn't do anything."
Dimitri sighed. "Rose you have corrupted that child."
"No," Ruby said, crossing her arms. No one was allowed to even sound like they were getting up Rose or they risked Ruby's wrath. It didn't help that she had Rose teaching her basic moves.
"I'm leaving for my shift," Dimitri said in defeat, kissing Rose and Ruby on the heads and nodding towards Christian as he left.
Rose held out her hand to Ruby who high-fived her.
"Pyro your kid rocks," Rose informed him as Ruby leapt up and went off to the corner.
"I know," Christian smiled at his daughter. "I think if it wasn't for the fact she was 100% Maori everyone would think she was ours through."
"That's because she only inherited Lissa's smarts, grace and kindness, the rest in so you," Rose replied.
Christian rolled his eyes then. He and Rose continued the discussion they had been having about a trip they had planned before Ruby had interrupted them.
"Look," Ruby interrupted again, handing Christian a picture of two people.
"Who is this?"
"You and me silly."
Christian smiled and got up, hanging it on the fridge.
"This must be my favourite picture Ruby," he told his beaming daughter.
"That's because I'm your favourite."
"That you are," Christian picked her up, making her squeal and he kissed her cheek.
"Gross Daddy," she giggled, as he put her down.
"Very gross Pyro," Rose commented as Ruby wiped off the kiss.
"Don't you love me Ruby?" he asked, grinning.
"No when you kiss me. That's gross," the four old informed him.
"Good to hear."
Ruby went off again. Christian swore the only time she was still was when she was drawing. Even when he or Rose showed her basic moves she always had to be on the go.
"Your daughter," Rose informed him as he sat back down.
"Oh yeah but your god daughter Rosie."
"Still going to chop it off one day."
