Alright, let's kick this off already! Sorry for taking so long, guess it's been a while huh? Anyway, Ryuga belongs to ShadowLDrago, (before anybody comments after reading this, I've used Ryuga in an old story I'm in the middle of writing, so this being a continuation of it means Ryuga's already been through who knows what and stuff. Just sayin.) Jacob "Jay" O'Conner and Bitemon belong to sonofthetrigod, Alexis 'Lexi' Swan belongs to Gianti-Faith, Mwape Mulenga and Megamon belong to shadowmwape, Emily belongs to... Hey wait a sec, Emily's my OC!
This is the Real Deal Presents:
This is Spirit!
Chapter 3: All Stars
What am I doing here anyway? Kotemon thought to himself, the room empty with Emily away. Keeping out of sight of Emily's mother was proving much more difficult than they thought, and Kotemon had to stay outside most of the time. Emily always came down with food and blankets for him to use, but even so, the old and now unused doghouse was less than comfortable. Luckily, Emily's mother was away a lot of the time so he would usually stay up in her room as long as he stayed out of her sister's line of sight. I don't really have a reason to stay in the human world. But I guess I have no reason to go back either. Not many people will really miss me anyway. And besides, Emily seems nice enough to be with. I know that at least she would miss me if I left. Still, I wonder what Knightmon meant when he said I should stay pure? Well I don't miss the Digital World anyway... None of my elders even liked me to begin with. It's like I did something wrong and I can't even remember... I wonder what though?
"... I think you're missing something in this paragraph here so this might be where you can explain stuff," Sam said, his voice muffled at the other side of Emily's door. Kotemon snapped out of his thoughts, jumping off of Emily's bed, going to open the door for them. Emily entered the room carrying her laptop open in her hands, smiling sweetly at Kotemon.
"Thanks for getting the door for me buddy," Emily said as she plopped down onto her chair, bouncing as she landed. Sam sat down in the chair by her desk opposite, sitting sideways in the chair, still talking animatedly.
"You don't wanna break the tension in the atmosphere either though, so you don't wanna go through the trap of explaining everything. Instead, try leaving little hints of what happened here and there, just 'crushed' or 'flattened' or something, or both!"
"What, like this?" Emily punched in a few keys on her laptop, her fingers flying like wind. She turned her screen to Sam. "'He patted my shoulder comfortingly. I didn't want comfort, I wanted my home back. I wanted my family back. But they were gone. Flattened. Crushed. They weren't coming back. The tears started flowing even faster. They flowed down like a waterfall, unstoppable...'"
"Yeah, that's much better!" Sam yelled enthusiastically. "This is actually turning out awesome! When you publish this, I'm getting a free copy right?"
"Sam, I can't publish this, It's not even that good..."
"You don't do yourself justice!" Sam shouted. "I've read your work and it's more than good enough ya hear? Maybe this one bit is lacking but the rest of it is even better than some professional authors!" Emily looked at her toes nervously, her cheeks turning cherry red.
"Shut up okay? I'm not very good... Hey Kotemon, you're a reptile Digimon right?" Emily said, quickly changing the subject. Kotemon nodded his head, as ever silent as usual. "So I'm guessing there are lots more Kotemons in the digital world right? So why don't you have something like your own name? That's like me calling myself 'human' isn't it?"
"It's not really the same," he said. "Where I'm from, the whole name system is seen as a human way of doing things, so we don't normally give names to each other or our successors. With how many different type of Digimon there are, it would be strange for me to run into another Kotemon anyway. Only in villages full of the same type of digimon are names given out."
"So say, in a village of Starmons, they'd all have names?" Sam asked, looking at his Xros Loader intently.
"Of course though do!" Starmon yelled from within the Digivice before him and all the Pickmons came out, looking around Emily's room with surprise before Starmon continued speaking. "It would be weird if all you humans called each other 'Sam' instead of something else wouldn't it? Even the Pickmons have names, but they are always together so they don't need them."
"What he said," Kotemon continued, picking off where Starmon left off. "Pickmons and Starmon are both sub-bodies, that is, they are always together working in a team. They don't really need to differentiate each other so they are simply called 'Pickmons and CommandoStarmon'." Emily furrowed her brow in thought, pausing to think about her new information for a moment.
"Well in that case, you need a proper name to go by! How could a mother live with herself knowing their child didn't even have a name?"
"I never really had a mother," Kotemon said quietly.
"Oh... I'm sorry, I broached a touchy subject didn't I?"
"No," Starmon said. "Most Digimon don't really do the whole family thing. Reptile Digimon never have families, so Kotemon wouldn't have known his parents."
"Plus, I wasn't born from two Digimon. Like most Digimon, I was a rebirth of a previous Digimon that died. Knightmon sama said that I was once a powerful and skilled warrior in the past, but I'm not so sure with how few friends I have back home..."
"Either way, you still need a name, and one that reflects you at that!" Emily stared at him intently, as if trying to decipher something.
"I'm thinking of some kind of Japanese legendary warrior," Sam said. "Or at least one from an anime or something. Kenshin sounds good!"
"No, I'm thinking a heroic name. Siegfried?"
"I don't think Siegfried really sounds much like a name for a Kotemon..."
"Then maybe a Japanese feudal lord. Masamune Date? Maybe Kiyomasa?"
"No, they sound too serious..."
"Hey guys," Kotemon butted in. "Can't I have some say in my own name?" Emily brushed off what he had said, not really paying attention.
"How about something to really scare people like TORO! Yeah that would work!"
"Something tells me that just plain wouldn't work," Sam said. "Come on, think!"
"Guys!" Both Emily and Sam stopped, finally paying attention to Kotemon. "Can I at least say whether or not I like the name?" Sam and Emily looked at each other, then back towards Kotemon. They nodded their heads, then started listing names again. Each one Kotemon rejected just like the last one. Finally, Sam collapsed on the bed.
"Ugh! This isn't working! How come there's nothing that he likes?"
"I guess its cause apart from the first few, they're all Western names," Emily suggested. "He is a samurai Digimon, he's probably used to hearing Japanese sounding names. And for that matter, names that don't belong to warlords! The only other name I can think of at this point is Yoshi..."
"Yes," Kotemon's voice said, almost inaudibly.
"What? Yoshi?" Emily asked. Kotemon nodded his head enthusiastically. Emily furrowed her eyebrows in thought. "Well I guess... Yeah, that could actually work! Alright, your full name will be Hideyoshi! Hideyoshi was a famous Shogun in Japan. Under his rule, peace reigned throughout Japan. He actually managed to keep all of the various Daimyos in Japan under check like Kiyomasa and Masamune. He was the big boss of them all, and he actually liked peace! So for short, I'll call you Yoshi!"
"Yoshi..." Kotemon said, the sound rolling off of his tongue as if trying to taste the name. "I... like the sound of that! Yoshi... Yoshi... Hideyoshi!"
"Hey, how come I can't get a cool new name like Kotemon does?" Starmon whined.
"That's because you're already a superstar dude!" Sam answered with a laugh. "There's no need to change that!"
"Well now that we've gotten that sorted," Emily began. "I found this note in my locker the other day. You might want to take a look at it." Emily pulled what looked like an invitation out of her pocket and handed it to Sam. Sam took a look at it.
"I saw what you did at the haunted house last week. I know about Kotemon. Meet us at your school sports field today. Don't worry, you and your digimon aren't in danger. All will be explained there."
"What time is it now?" Emily asked, packing her laptop back into her bag.
"Time for us to go that's what!" Sam yelled, fiddling with his goggles as usual, running out the door with Starmon floating after him.
"Wait! Sam! We have to get back inside your Digivice before anybody sees us!" Emily and Yoshi both jointly shrugged their shoulders and followed after them.
The beaten down brown athletics field was completely empty. Being a Friday not many people had were still in school anymore. Starmon was hidden inside of Sam's Digivice and Emily was just hoping against hope that nobody would look too closely at Kotemon, but even so there was nobody to spy them anyway. Wind blew over the field, dust swirling in small tornadoes slowly, giving them the impression of some kind of barren wasteland. Waiting for them were three figures with digimon by their sides, seated or standing by the benches. Allison and Axehounmon were also there.
"Hey, you guys were invited to?" Allison asked, recognizing them instantly.
"Actually, only I was invited," Emily clarified. "Sam just decided to tag along.
"Hey! What're you trying to say?" Sam said. Axehounmon looked like he was sleeping on a long green bench lazily, barely noticing them. Emily couldn't help but wonder if he was having some kind of evil dream with the smile on his face.
"Hey, don't worry too much about it okay?" she said. "You probably didn't get an invite because you just got your Digimon, so you're not a party crasher or something. Oh yeah! I almost forgot!" She turned to face the others who had arrived. "Emily, Sam, these two are Jay and Lexi," she said, gesturing towards an older teenage boy and a younger girl that looked only a year or two older than Emily and Sam, maybe twelve or thirteen. "You guys remember Handle to right? Lexi, Jay, meet Emily and Sam." Jay looked at least sixteen. He was clad completely in black, a black shirt with a skull engulfed in white flames, a black Candy Grind hoody, black jeans and blue and black skating shoes. His hair was also black, short and spiky in contrast to Sam's more loose hair. He had golden eyes that seemed to stand out against his black attire. Sitting on the bench behind him chewing a loaf of bread was a grey dragon-like digimon with what looked like some kind of black toxic or hazard symbol tattooed on his chest and forehead. The top triangle was green, glowing slightly while his belly was white. As expected, Emily's Digivice instantly started reacting to him even before Jay could say "This guy is Bitemon..."
Name: Bitemon
Level: Rookie
Family: Dragon's Roar
Attribute: Virus
Attacks: Bite Fang, Venom Spit
A draconic digimon that seems related to the Guilmon species. This dragon digimon possess highly volatile substances within it and as such is regarded as a digital hazard. Don't be alarmed though, this digimon is known to be friendly and caring. It is speculated though that it is subconsciously suppressing its true nature...
"This is pretty cool I guess, I've just gotten back from the digital world and already I've met four new humans and digimon," he said.
"You were in the digital world?" the girl next to him asked.
"Yeah, it's a pretty scary place if you don't have a partner digimon with you. I was trapped there for a whole year you know!"
"A year?!" the others all yelled as one.
"Goodness, didn't your parents miss you at all?" the girl, Lexi, asked in concern. Lexi had long straight hair that seemed to sit perfectly on her head. She wore a black t-shirt with a white jacket on top of it, a light blue skirt and blue sneakers, much brighter than Jay. Just like Bitemon, her digimon was seated on the bench, this time it was a white cat-like digimon and it was licking its fur contentedly. It had purple fur tufts on the ends of its ears and its tail and on its paws were a pair of yellow gloves with red stripes, a pair of sharp claws poking out of the fingers. A golden ring was on her tail. "Well, this is my partner Gatomon," Lexi said.
"And I'm Mwape Mulenga," another unknown voice said. They all turned to the source of the voice. A teenager walked towards them, a small digimon next to him. The teen had a dark, African-American skin tone and short, black spiky hair. He was tall and slim, though with a slight muscle tone. He had a dark grey shirt with a picture of a large claymore on it, black jeans and black combat boots.
"And I'm Mighty, a Megamon," his digimon partner said. Mighty looked the most human out of all of them, being similar to a small child. He was dressed in a yellow body suit complete with a helmet, accented with dark blue gloves, boots, and yellow ridges along the top of his head. More data
Name: Megamon (Mighty)
Level: Rookie
Family: Machine Empire
Attribute: Data
Attacks: Mega Kick, Aura Pellet
An android Digimon that was formed due to the collection of AI and Anti-Virus systems, influenced heavily by certain video game data. This Digimon follows Flemings three rules of robotics, making his already courageous, if not childish heart, even more suited to protecting the human race, along with the lives of its friends.
Emily peered at the sword on Mwape's shirt.
"Is that Cloud's Buster Sword? From Final Fantasy Seven?"
"The very same," he said with a smile, glad that somebody recognized it. A slight accent could be heard on his voice, barely noticeable and hard to trace, probably African if his name was anything to go by. Everyone introduced themselves to Mwape, Kotemon remembering to say Hideyoshi instead of just Kotemon. "So, do you guys have any idea why we were called us together?" he asked.
"No clue, but I've got a feeling that guy might know," Sam said, pointing towards the top of the stands where an older looking teenager was walking down with his hands in his pockets. He towered above all of them, the shadow he cast over them ridiculously intimidating. His icy blue eyes seemed to pierce right through you, but the intensity of their gaze was at odds with his wild hair style, his black hair practically untameable. He wore a black sweater, jeans, and bright red sports shoes. Behind him was a brutal looking wolf-like cyborg digimon, its head covered with a metal mask and his tail partially made of metal, the tip just being sparking wires and the likes. A pair of tiny wings poked out of his back, completely covered in metal with bolts sticking out of it, and instead of having forelegs he had small arms which were also mummified with steel. His purple fur stood up slightly on end, though not too much. Not even Emily's Digivice had any data on the creature.
He stopped before the group, everyone holding their breath expectantly, then, a warm smile.
"Looks like we've all gathered here now," he said happily. "Thank goodness you all showed up, my name's Ryuga and this is my partner, DexDorumon. I already know who you guys are, well, just your names really."
"Hey," his partner said, his voice sounding gruff and slightly menacing. "Don't worry, I don't bite... Most of the time anyway!"
"I'm guessing you're the guy who called us all together right?" Jay asked, still feeling suspicious. "Not trying to be rude, but why'd you go through the trouble of gathering us?"
"Well I'm trying to be rude," Sam said in annoyance, stepping forward. "Explain yourself hotshot, we've all taken a chunk out of our busy schedules, it's only fair you at least come on time!" DexDorumon stepped forward, growling menacingly while Starmon floated in front of him protectively.
"Calm down buddy," Ryuga said to his partner. "He does have a point." The wolf puffed out a breath of hot air before calming down again. "Sorry about that, he gets really protective you know... Answering your questions, there's probably two main reasons for calling all of you guys together like this. You might all want to take a seat." Everybody got seated on the benches while Ryuga and DexDorumon stood before them, explaining his story. "To put it simply, something's up in this town. Haven't you guys noticed the increasing number of Bio-emergences lately?"
"Yeah, now that you mention it, something does seem wrong here," Allison said. "It's not like Calumon's in our world anymore so Digimon don't really have to come here to digivolve, and there's no digi-quartz zone either for them to travel through. What's going on?"
"Heh? You mean this isn't normal?" Sam asked in alarm.
"Yeah, you guys just started so you wouldn't really notice," Lexi clarified.
"Right, well that gets me thinking that maybe we really have to do something about this, as tamers," Ryuga said. "Normally this wouldn't be much of a problem. With more digimon bio-emerging, more tamers are being made to so it balances out in the end, but this is a bit different now. When the digimon cross over, it's like their enraged for some reason; they end up causing nothing but trouble for the regular people here. I don't think beating up random digimon separately is going to get us anywhere anymore. I think it's about time that we actually go and investigate this for ourselves."
"Let me get this straight," Mwape began. "You want us to all go to the digital world, together as a team, and find out what's wrong with the digimon? Are you trippin?!"
"Come on, we'll only be gone for a little while, maybe a week or so, and we're not gonna go now anyway," he said. "We'll wait till the summer or something and say we're going camping."
"But we'll just be stabbing in the dark, who knows what we'll find," Lexi stated.
"Not exactly," Jay replied, his eyes becoming unfocused as he was remembering something from his trip there. "Apparently there's now a benevolent King in the digital world that rules with a firm yet caring fist. He's not the most powerful guy but he's still the ruler, he'll know all about any problems to do with his world, and possibly our world to."
"You see? It's a sound plan after all. We just go into the digital world and ask for an audience with the king. We'll decide what to do from there."
"Just one quick question," Emily said after hearing everything she needed to hear. "Why do you want us to do this with you? I'm pretty sure there's others out there who you could've asked to go with you aren't there?"
"Well there are," he said. "But I don't know enough people here who I can trust, and all the other guys who I once went on an adventure with are scattered all over the world. I need immediate help right now for something else as well. You guys fit the bill since all of you are experienced tamers, and you and Sam got your digimon just a few weeks after the crazy increase in wild digimon, not to mention your skill when taking out that SkullMeramon. The thing I'm looking for now though is a wild digimon, and not a third-rate one at that. This thing's a Machinedramon and it's been draining the city's power for a while now. It was last spotted at the park-"
"So what're we waiting for?!" Sam screamed, jumping up from his seat energetically. "Come on, Starmon! Let's go take this guy out!"
"Right on brother!" Starmon yelled as they both set off at a sprint towards the park.
"Wait! He's accompanied by another digimon!" Ryuga yelled, running off after him. The others all looked at each other, shrugged their shoulders, and then followed after them.
Sam stopped in the centre of the park, looking around in anger. Starmon had gone back inside the Xros Loader by now.
"Alright wise guy, show yourself!" he snarled, holding his Digivice up in the air. Ryuga caught up to him, doubled over in exhaustion, huffing and puffing as he tried to get back his breath.
"Wait... That... Machinedramon... It's got a partner... That can travel through dimensions... You can't even see it right now!"
"What?! How come you only tell me now?" Sam yelled in anger.
"You left before I could!" he yelled back. The rest of them caught up, all of their digimon either hidden inside their digivices, or if they couldn't do that, hidden behind bushes and in trees.
"I dunno, maybe we won't even have to fight it," Lexi suggested. "I mean, nothing's really going wrong right? Everything's still fine, the ground is beneath us..." As if on cue, the ground beneath their feet started rumbling as if from an earthquake. The screeching of car tyres could be heard as engines stopped, drivers struggling to reign control over their vehicles again. All the traffic lights went dead one after another, and though it was hard to see in the afternoon lights, windows dimmed as lights turned off. The rumbling earthquake only got worse, cracks appearing all over the ground, small fissures opening around them violently as they all struggled to maintain their balance, some of them outright falling over, and then silence. Slowly they readjusted themselves, getting back on their feet. "Okay, so maybe it is a problem..."
"So how do we get to it if it lives in another dimension?" Sam asked.
"Simple, we'll use your Digivice," Ryuga said.
"Mine?"
"Oh yeah, now I remember!" Allison remarked energetically. "Xros Loaders have the ability to jump through different servers and zones in the digital world. Heck they can even jump through cracks and space time as long as the zone you're going to is parallel to the one you're in. If this thing is in another reality, you might be able to warp us to it by doing something called a 'Time Shift'. Try it out!" Sam looked at his orange Digivice with uncertainty. "Come on, try it out!" Sam held it up to the air without much of an idea what to do.
"Uh, okay I guess... Time Shift!" Flashing multicoloured discs shot out of the Digivice, hovering in front of them like a gateway as a thin rainbow coloured film filled the gap. After hesitating momentarily, they all entered, the world around them flashing bright white before finally dying down. Emily looked around her in shock. They were still in the park, only this time the sky was a dark, nightmarish purple with an odd green moss growing over everything. The cars in the street behind them were rusted over with the same moss while the pavements were cracked and splintered. The ground beneath them also seemed scarred somehow.
"Hey wait a second, this is Digi-Quartz," Jay said in surprise. "This place shouldn't be here anymore. What's going on?"
"It looks like whoever we're facing is more powerful than we thought," Ryuga said. Emily stopped paying attention to the conversation, scanning the park area for what looked like a digimon. It didn't take long to find. In the middle of the street, towering easily above all of them and at the height of some of the buildings was a titanic mechanical dinosaur like digimon. It was steel grey with what must have been the two biggest cannons in the world strapped to its back. Its left arm was a massive three clawed arm while his left arm was still huge, but with three fingers and not claws. The tip of its tail looked like it was chopped off. It roared with a thunderous voice, ripping telephone wires out of the ground, draining the electricity from them. It swung its tail as it was feeding, knocking down a whole building in one blow as the cascading debris clattered to the road noisily.
"We have to... Fight that?" Emily asked in a worried tone of voice.
"If it was something small I wouldn't ask for your help now would I?" he said. "We want to take this thing out as quickly as possible without allowing whoever is transporting it to send it to the real world. We'll need some kind of plan to beat it..."
"Emily, lets DigiXros and beat this guy!" Sam said, his Xros Loader already glowing with power. Emily nodded her head in conformation. "Starmon, Pickmons, Kotemon, DigiXros!" They all shot into the air, light glowing all around them. They clashed in the middle, a massive burning X formed of fire slashing through Kotemon's torso as they all joined to him as before.
"Santoryou Kotemon!" Yoshi yelled, leaping for Machinedramon. The huge monster turned around slowly in confusion before roaring at him. He tried slashing angrily at him, only to find all of his strucks landed on empty air. "Too slow too slow too slow too slow!" he yelled excitedly. "Your strikes can never harm one with indomitable spirit like mine!"
"What're you doing?!" Ryuga screamed in confusion. "I just said we need a plan!"
"He's giving you one!" Emily shot back. "I saw it right from the start, he's using Kotemon's speed to its advantage, especially after being increased by Starmon's agility. We'll distract that guy while you all prepare your strongest attacks to take him out!" Ryuga looked back towards the battling combatants in worry, seeing Yoshi getting smacked to the ground before being blasted with one of his cannons.
"You idiots... You're almost as bad as DC was... Okay then, DexDorumon, let's do this!" Ryuga took out his own Digivice, his being more rounded with a black strap at the bottom. He pulled what looked like an odd playing card out of his pocket, twirled it briefly around his fingers before slicing it through the Digivice. "Digi-Modify, Digivolution!" DexDorumon began glowing dark purple, streams of data floating around him.
"DexDorumon digivolve to..." His skin seemed to peel off of his body as it was replaced with bigger flesh and armour. He was even larger now, more of his body covered in metal, and his tiny wings had now stretched into fully fledged bat wings. "DexDorugamon!"
"We're doing this to Handle," Allison said as she brought out her own Digivice. "Now how did this go again... Ah yes! Digisoul, Charge!" she yelled as her whole hand began glowing in what looked like pixelated blue fire.
"AxeHounmon digivolve to..." AxeHounmon began growing even larger, odd red markings appearing on his thighs. A white mane spread below his chin and a pair of bat wings wrapped around it like a scarf. The lower halves of his legs had been practically transformed into an assortment of blades and knives, axes on top of his forepaws. "Sangloupmon!"
"Mighty, lets wreck the whole place!" Mwape said, charging up his Digivice the same way Allison did.
"Megamon digivolve to..." Mighty started stretching out, taller and taller, his muscles building up more heavily on his body, even his helmet becoming more detailed till he looked more like an adult now than a child. "AdultMegamon!"
"You to Bitemon," Jay said, slashing a card through his own Digivice. "I'll use my own modify cards to digivolve you, do what you've gotta do!" Red lines of energy swirled around Bitemon dangerously, his hazard symbol glowing even brighter than ever.
"Bitemon digivolve to..." His skin peeled off almost painfully, data streams surrounding him as patches of what looked like even more computer data stuck themselves back onto his body, rebuilding him from the ground up. He'd gotten even bigger now, less fat on his already lean body as he now became far more muscular. His claws grew out, gigantic weapons of death. The top triangle on his hazard symbol was now black again, but now the bottom left triangles were radiation green. "Fangdramon!"
"We can do it just as we are right?" Lexi said as she glanced at her partner.
"You said it Lexi, let's take this hunka junk outta town!" They all leaped out from behind the trees, weapons aimed at it. AdultMegamon's right arm transformed into a cannon, blue bullets firing out of it rapidly. All the shells seemed to bounce off of Machinedramon harmlessly. He furrowed hi eyebrows in worry.
"You're pretty tough... How about this? Ultra Kick!" His whole body began glowing blue as he flew down towards Machinedramon. The monster roared in his face before receiving a violent kick to the face, the blue empowering aura around Megamon radiating off of the impact zone. Gatomon leaped over him, punching the very same spot with a cataclysmic blow, knocking him to the ground. He screamed in rage, the ground beneath him shaking from the force of the soundwaves.
"Dorugamon, use only special attacks, you don't have the physical strength to take him on normally," Ryuga said.
"Right, Dash Metal!" He began firing a volley of black cannonballs from his mouth, all of them exploding on impact. He charged up another one in his mouth, this one covered with blue electricity before firing it. Machinedramon simply swatted the attack off to the side, blowing up an already destroyed car. Sangloupmon jumped towards Machinedramon, hopping up his legs and arms, narrowly avoiding being grabbed and chewed on by their enemy. He struck Machinedramon's face with a series of powerful lightning fast blows before leaping off again, growling in anger.
"This isn't getting us anywhere," he said. "His armours just too strong for us to break through, even as Champions."
"Then we'll just have to go Ultimate won't we?" Mighty said as he reloaded his gun.
"No, just becoming more powerful isn't gonna cut it," Emily said.
"What would you know? You're still a rookie!" Sangloupmon yelled.
"I know, but I still know that just getting stronger isn't enough. We'll beat him, but we might suffer a casualty. Instead, we need to find his boss, the person who can send him through Digi-Quartz. Whoever he is, that's our target..." Emily scanned the tops of the tall buildings and the bottom of the lowest alley, and everything in-between. Finally, she spotted the movement of something red from an alley. "There! Yoshi, use the Shi-No-Tachi over at that spot behind the building!" Kotemon back up off the ground shakily, supporting himself on his sword.
"Whatever... you say..." He roared as he swung the two swords in his hands, a burning V flying towards the side of the building. It exploded in a cloud of smoke, a digimon flying out of it, limbs flying everywhere. It stood up on shaky legs.
"I'll get you back for that one..." he said angrily. He looked a lot like some kind of wizard, only instead of being dressed in a black or blue cloak, he was dressed in a red tunic and shorts, the pads on his shoulders looking like fire. The top half of his wide-brimmed wizard hat looked like it was made of fire. His face looked ghastly pale, his mouth stitched together like a scarecrow. His blue eyes were filled with a strange determined light. "There's no way I'd lose to somebody like you! With this Machinedramon, I'll become the strongest guy in the digital world!"
Name: FlaWizardmon
Level: Armour
Attribute: Data
A digimon that comes from an alternate digital world called 'witchelny,' this is a Wizardmon that armour digiviolved to its current form by using the digi-egg of courage.
"You do know that you're causing problems for the humans in this world right?" Emily asked, trying to get out of the situation peacefully.
"Yeah, but it's not like they don't cause problems for us either! Who do you think made D-Reaper in the first place? I'm just letting Machinedramon take enough power to digivolve to Chaosdramon, then I'll leave you guys alone."
"If you do that, there's no way somebody just barely above the Champion level like you will be able to control him," Jay said, slashing a card through his Digivice, energy building up around him wildly. "Digi-Modify, Lady Devimon activate!" Fangdramon's eyes began glowing red as an unearthly black aura built up around him.
"Darkness Haze!" he screamed as he fired a mass of black energy towards Machinedramon, trying to keep him distracted while Yoshi took out FlaWizardmon. The attacks smashed against his armour futilely. "Jay, it's not working!"
"Change of tactic," Ryuga called. "We'll all attack one point on this guy until he starts feeling it. Dorugamon!" He was already firing cannonballs rapidly at his chest while AdultMegamon blasted it with his cannons, accompanied by a now green blast of radiation energy from Fangdramon. As soon as the blasts died down, Sangloupmon and Gatomon both leaped towards the glowing red hot bruise, tackling the whole creature to the ground.
"Come on rookies, finish of that wizard already!" Sangloupmon yelled.
"Yeah, you're the only ones who can do it right now so do it!" Gatomon added.
"R-right!" Yoshi yelled back.
"Come on brother, let's take this guy out!" Starmon yelled inside Yoshi's head. Santoryou Kotemon launched forward on his ever-reliable right leg, swing his swords towards Flawizardmon. A wall of fire rose in front of them, blocking off their path as they shielded their eyes. The flames faded away to reveal FlaWizardmon now holding a pair of giant matchsticks, one with a red tip while the other had a blue one. Both of them were lit on fire.
"I'm not letting you get in my way now!" They smashed their weapons against eachother, thrusting, slashing and parrying every blow that the other dealt. Yoshi swung his swords upwards towards his chin, just to see his opponent leap backwards, somersaulting through the air. He landed neatly on his feet, the flames on his matches burning even brighter than ever. Emily clenched her fists, the same energy from the last two times building up inside of her again. Sam looked at her questioningly.
"Em? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm just fine..." she lied. She couldn't quite explain it herself but it was like a surge of power was just building up inside of her, bubbling from somewhere deep within herself. "Yoshi, this guy is covered in flames so Shi-No-Tachi won't do anything to him. Attack him with a flurry of blows. Sam, break open the DigiXros when I give the signal."
"Right!" Yoshi yelled. He swung his blades rapidly at the enemy, just the wind of the strikes alone making the flames waver with each strike. A blow connected with FlaWizardmon's side, stopping him in his tracks as he doubled over in pain.
"Now Sam!" she yelled. Sam pressed a few random buttons on his digivice, sparks flying with each touch stubbornly, trying to refuse to let him use it. Yoshi began glowing bright white before he separated from Starmon and the Pickmons. Kotemon rested on his sword in exhaustion while Sam's digimon all charged at FlaWizardmon, circling around him angrily.
"Oh now I get it!" Sam yelled in recognition. "By using all of the Pickmons together, they swirl around him quickly like a cyclone, decreasing the strength of his fire. Since their not made of flesh, they don't really get burnt that badly. Of course, it still hurts like crazy, but like this he can't attack!"
"Exactly," Emily confirmed. "Now Yoshi, finish it!" Yoshi jumped high into the air, above the wall of Pickmons before bringing his sword down on FlaWizardmon's head. The enemy digimon crashed into the ground, his face making a crater in the already cracked pavement. The already injured fire digimon tried propping himself up of the floor, his breath wheezing, before he collapsed onto the ground. Sam looked at his digivice as a circle appeared on the screen with writing below it.
"Capture? What, I can capture this guy with this thing?"
"Yes, now do it before he gets enough energy to get up again!" Emily yelled. "I don't think Yoshi's strong enough to beat him!" Sam nodded his head before holding it up to the fallen opponent. A yellow ring circled him as his data began to break away from him before he disintegrated into red data and not yellow data.
"Capture complete!" Sam yelled as his picture appeared on his screen. "Now to deal with this guy over here..." Machindramon roared in anger, firing cannons everywhere, explosions sounding everywhere like a war field. The ground beneath them started shaking again, even more dangerous than before. Machinedramon began slowly sinking into the ground, the dirt around him rising as he was swallowed up by the tarmac, the road closing above them. The team all gathered around the spot where Machinedramon disappeared.
"Well, there goes big bad and flashy," Allison stated, almost as if she missed the guy.
"I for one am glad for that!" Mwape yelled. "I'm done for tonight, till next time boys, we're out."
"Wait," Ryuga said. "It looks like we were pretty solid when we chose to work together," he said. "I guess it was a good thing choosing to pair all of us together like this. Maybe we can make this whole team thing work right?"
"I guess so, it won't be that bad I suppose," Jay said.
"Contrary, it might actually be fun," Emily added.
"And we'll all get stronger from it to won't we?" Lexi concluded with a smile.
"So how about it huh? Go team, and stuff!" Allison yelled energetically, placing her hand in the middle of the circle. Everybody looked at her questioningly before shrugging their shoulders and adding their own hands, paws or claws to the mix.
"From this day forth, we'll all be working as a team!" Sam yelled, his eyes turning starry as he felt a speech coming along. "Though we don't have a name yet, we'll be a team in spirit! With bonds transcending space and time..."
"Give it a rest already!" Emily yelled playfully, smacking him across the back of the head, a bit more roughly than intended. Sam opened the time shift portal again and everyone went back their own ways, almost as if none of this had happened at all. Still, Emily couldn't help but wonder if something important had changed within her...
