Menmaverse.
I added a new chapter to the beginning of this story now instead of chapter 1 it begins with a prologue. I also rewrote chapter 1 to 3 because it might have given the wrong impression about the main story line.
I also changed Menma's eye color because it doesn't make sense for him to have red eyes. Neither of his parents have red eyes so he couldn't either. He now has slightly darker blue/grey eyes like Kushina has. Hair color stays the same because he wouldn't be Menma otherwise.
Remember I WANT your opinion about this story, did you like the chapter? Did you hate it? what would you have done differently? Did I make a mistake somewhere? Anything… everything… I'm not afraid to get told I suck at this, as long as you tell me why!
Chapter 7: Dating with a friend!
Konoha training ground 40/Where we left off last time.
For a moment the two genin laid there on the ground lips interlocked and eyes wide. A moment later Menma's mind went blank, his eyes closed and he pushed himself harder onto her lips, changing the accident into a passionate kiss. Tenten in response to Menma's actions slowly relaxed as well and allowed him to slip his tongue inside of her mouth.
Menma accepted and pushed his tongue inside. Their tongues slowly started massaging each other, going back and forth, never stopping. Menma wrapped his arms tightly around her shoulders pulling her into a hug as she let out a moan of pleasure.
From the side the other genin stood shocked, while Kenshiguru Ryuudan marched towards the two lovebirds. "Alright that's enough… stop it already, before you start melting together!" He said as he grabbed both genin by the neck of their clothes and pulled them apart.
Menma looked at Tenten and realized what they had just been doing. Honestly he had just gone with the flow, there was a moment and he followed his instincts. He looked towards the others standing several feet away, looking at their questioning faces caused him to blush like mad and to start smiling like an idiot.
Tenten looked at Menma and realized as well what she had just done. Her face started glowing red and her head hung low to hide. 'What was that? Why did I do that? I hardly even know him! Is this what they call love at first sight?' Tenten thought.
"Okay, now that you're both back with your feet on the ground and your heads out of the clouds, we can go for lunch." Ryuudan said as he let go of both genin.
When Tenten rejoined her team Lee's voice could suddenly be heard. "Gai-sensei? What Tenten just did… is that… youthful?" Upon hearing this everyone looked over to Maito Gai to see what he would say. Tenten on the other hand started blushing even more and threw a glare at Lee.
"Lee" Gai said. "I honestly don't know." He answered in a normal tone that Gai had never used before. At least as far as anyone knew.
"Everyone please focus!" Ryuudan said. "The scores for this round are… Menma vs Tenten, a draw. Hinata vs Lee, Lee won. Shikamaru vs Neji, Neji won. Ino vs Kiba, Kiba won. Sakura vs Choji, Choji won. Sasuke vs Shino, Shino won. That's all, now let's go get lunch."
After that all the teams went for lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon doing D-rank missions.
Team 13 had just finished their last D-rank mission for the day. Catching some stupid cat for a noble lady. They said their goodbyes and went their separate ways.
Menma was heading to training ground 9 for another evening of extreme physical training and taijutsu practice.
Konoha training ground 9.
Menma now stood face to face with four people who all stared at him except one. Gai, Lee and Neji looked at him in surprise and Tenten had turned around trying to avoid eye contact.
"Oh… hey… I thought I'd drop by to train with you guys again. If you don't mind that is, I don't want to interrupt or hinder your own training." Menma said nervously while scolding himself for not remembering that SHE was also on this team.
Gai shot out of his stupor. "Nonsense, we would never deny a soul as youthful as yours to join our training!" the sound of his role model's voice brought Lee out of his state of frozen awkwardness. "Yes! Menma-san! If I would deny you to join our training session I'll do 100 ROUNDS around the fire nation while doing SQUATS!" Lee shouted, bringing Neji out of his frozen state. "Ridiculous, but I don't mind. If you're training with these two hardworking idiots then I don't have to." Neji said while picking up his gear and walking home.
"Great!" Menma said. "But if it's okay with you I'd like to talk to Tenten before we start."
"Oh… sure no problem! Lee and I will be stretching at the hokage tower while we wait for you! come on Lee!" "But Gai-sensei I think I should be here to support Tenten as her ever youthful teammate!" Lee said, not being able to read the mood. "Lee! Invading your teammates privacy is most un-youthful! I'm disappointed in you!" Gai shouted as his eyes started to waterfall. "Forgive me! Gai-senseeeeeei! As punishment for my un-youthful behavior I'll walk to our destination on my hands!"
"Lee!"
"Gai-sensei!"
"Lee!"
"Gai-sensei!"
(and so on, and so on.)
When both green clad fashion criminals had disappeared from hearing range Menma looked at Tenten and said. "I can't imagine how it must be to deal with those two on a daily basis." This caused Tenten to chuckle slightly. Something Menma was glad about. 'At least she doesn't hate me… that much.' He thought.
"Tenten? Can we talk… you know… about what happened this morning?" Menma asked.
"Yeah… okay… just let me get my equipment first."
"Yeah, no problem."
Menma watched as Tenten walked around the training ground gathering all her weapons she had used during training. Team 9 was a year ahead of the other teams so they didn't do as much D-ranks anymore. Instead they spent their afternoons training and honing their skills.
Menma was amazed at the amount of kunai and shuriken and other weapons she had laying all over the place. "Do all of these belong to you?" "Yes they do. Why do you ask?" Tenten said glancing over to see an amazed, confused, surprised Menma looking at all the weapons spread over the training ground.
"How do you carry all of those weapons?" He asked. A baffled look upon his face. Tenten saw this and couldn't stop herself from snickering. 'He looks so silly and cute like that.' She thought.
"I carry them around in a storage scroll." She said.
"A what?" Menma asked, he had shifted his head sideways.
To Tenten Menma looked like a dog when he expects you to throw his ball and you fake throwing it and he doesn't fall for it and he's looking back at you. Tenten started smiling and walked over to Menma as she pulled out a scroll from her pouch.
She then demonstrated by sealing away several kunai into a seal on the scroll.
"Wow! How did you do that?! Can you teach me?!" he asked. "Sure!" She said, but then a thought entered her mind. "But only if you take me on a date." She said. Tenten didn't know how she felt about Menma. If they went on a date then maybe they could figure out what had happened.
"You want to go on a date with me?" Menma asked. "I thought you'd hate me after this morning."
"No! no… I don't hate you at all. I'm not sure what happened this morning and how I feel about it. so I thought that if we went on a date together then we could figure this out." She quickly explained.
"Oh. Yeah… that's actually a good idea. So, are you free tomorrow?" he asked. "Tomorrow?! I uhm, I… guess… Sure tomorrow's great." She said.
"Good I'll see you tomorrow after training and missions!" He yelled as he ran off to train with her sensei and teammate. 'Idiot!' she thought. 'He didn't even give me a chance to tell him to come a bit later. How am I to get a change of clothes?'
Konoha training ground 40/third day of training 9:00.
Finally the third and last day of the one-on-one sparring sessions had arrived. All 4 teams were present and sitting against the tree line. All of them had arrived early, somehow they've all grown closer while maintaining a certain rivalry. If they had learned anything up to now it's that you never know what could happen.
They all thought back on their mistakes of the past 2 days.
Menma learned not to underestimate his opponent and to know his own limits.
Hinata had learned that holding back caused pain rather than preventing it.
Shikamaru had learned that not everything goes according to plan and that you need to be able to improvise on the spot.
Kiba and Sasuke had finally learned that their confidence was a major flaw. At least to a certain extent.
Choji had learned that he needed to take things more serious, that there was a time to eat and a time to fight.
Sakura and Ino had learned that compared to the others they were weak and that they needed to take their training more serious from now on.
Tenten learned that weapons weren't enough and that she needed to focus on other aspects of her training as well.
Neji learned that his gentle fist was not enough to survive as a shinobi, considering that it was useless against Shino since he couldn't get close enough to the boy.
Lee didn't figure out that he had several flaws himself as he hadn't lost a fight yet and Shino seemed to already be aware of his own flaws.
Shino was a more rounded shinobi with his skills. He had all the basic ninjutsu, taijutsu and even made use of genjutsu next to the obvious use of his bugs. He was smart enough to come up with a plan but also flexible so he could improvise. Although he wasn't particularly advanced in any of his skills he made excellent use of them and thereby winning every match.
While thinking back on this their sensei's arrived at the grounds and quietly observed their students.
"It would seem that Ryuudan-sama his training is more effective than we thought." Asuma whispered.
"Yes you're right, he just sets them up against one another and they learn themselves that they aren't as perfect as they think they are. Neji and Tenten have both figured out for themselves that their current set of skills aren't enough and that they need to expand on it." Gai said, throwing in his opinion.
"I think we owe him an apology and respect as a jounin-sensei. He's been doing it for several years now after all." Kakashi said.
"Agreed" Gai and Asuma said and nodded. "Good, you finally see things my way. But after today their training will be up to you." Ryuudan said. Ryuudan was sitting several meters higher than his younger colleges and decided it was time to get things started.
Jumping down and landing in front of the 12 genin he turned around and spoke "If you're ready then let us begin. Menma your first match will be against Sasuke; Hinata against Ino; Shikamaru versus Choji; Kiba will fight against Neji; Sakura will be fighting Tenten and finally Lee will be beaten by Shino!"
"Ryuudan-sama, I why would you say such a thing?! I always put all my effort into my battles so I won't lose! If I fight with all my strength and the power of youth I will be victorious!" Lee declared.
"I'll explain after you lost your match, now get your useless butts out there!" He yelled, bringing everyone into action.
The first round of matches began and ended with Lee losing his match against Shino. "Lee come here!" Ryuudan ordered. "Do you understand why you lost?" He asked looking Lee in the eyes.
"Because I didn't put enough effort into my fight, I understand now that I need to train even harder from now on!" Lee answered as a waterfall of tears flowed from his eyes.
*BAM*
"No you green idiot!" Ryuudan said as he punched Lee on the head.
"The reason you lost is because you are limited to only taijutsu and because you train too much!" Ryuudan explained.
"But I can't mold chakra like the others do, so I have nothing else except for taijutsu." Lee confessed looking to the ground.
"Lee look at me!" Ryuudan commanded. After lee looked back up Ryuudan continued saying "You are a hard worker. You train and train and you never give up. And that is why you are able to keep up with everyone even though you can't mold chakra. So why? Why? If you never give up in your taijutsu training then why did you give up trying to mold chakra? Just because it is extremely hard for you to do doesn't mean it's impossible."
Lee looked at the old Jounin as he thought about what he just heard. 'It's true' he thought. 'I've put a thousand time more effort into my taijutsu training than I ever did with my chakra molding. Maybe I can still unlock the path to ninjutsu!'
He then looked up with a confused look and asked "What did you mean when you said that I train too much?"
"Ah yes, let me explain why you and your teacher are BOTH idiots." Ryuudan said with a smug grin on his face. "You see, when you train your muscles get torn to pieces and newer and stronger muscles take their place. But only if you allow them to. By constantly training you don't allow your muscles to fully regrow causing you to block your growth. If you want to become stronger you need to take the time to rest to allow your muscles to fully recover." Ryuudan explained.
Lee and Gai both looked stunned by this sudden revelation. "Now if you are done spacing out over your sudden realization of your own stupidity we will start the second round." The old man said.
"Menma and Neji! Hinata and Sakura! Shikamaru versus Lee! Choji against Sasuke! Ino and Tenten and Shino will fight against Kiba!"
The second round of matches got under way and the results were the following: Menma won against Neji like he had won against Sasuke earlier. Hinata won against Ino and Sakura. Shikamaru tied his match against Choji because Choji knew how his best friend fought, and Shikamaru won against Lee who was still stunned by his recent enlightenment. Choji lost against Sasuke. Tenten won against Sakura and Ino. And Shino won against Kiba who lost against Neji earlier.
"Alright! Thirty minute break and then the final round of the final day! Make it a good fight!"
Thirty minutes went by and the last round was announced. Menma fought against Shino, Hinata against Tenten, Shikamaru against Kiba, Neji against Choji, Sakura versus Ino and Lee fought against Sasuke.
The winners were Shino, Tenten, Shikamaru, Neji, Ino and Sakura tied, and Lee won from Sasuke.
"Alright! Good fight everyone! I'll now announce your scores!" Ryuudan said as he looked upon a notebook he'd been writing in for the past three days.
"You will be scored on a total of 9 points! Now, with the lowest score of 0.5 points is Sakura Haruno! You can't become a ninja by just reading books! Take your training more seriously!"
"Next with 1.5 points is Ino Yamanaka! Same thing as before, put less time in your clothes and your hair and more in your training!"
"After that is Kiba Inuzuka with 2 points! Do something about that big head of yours or an enemy ninja will do it for you!"
"Then we have Choji Akimichi with 2.5 points! Remember that there is a time and a place for everything!"
"Hinata Hyuuga and Sasuke Uchiha with 4 points! Sasuke, your name and history don't grant you power, your training does. In my opinion it is your attitude that puts the great Uchiha clan to shame not your lack of power! You have plenty of it, now learn how to use it and know that you are not alone. We are strongest when we stand together as one!"
"Menma Uzumaki and Shikamaru Nara with 4.5 points! Menma, good job keep improving. Shikamaru, keep your mind open to changes and work on your physical strength."
"Rock Lee and Neji Hyuuga with 7 points! Lee, rest and molding chakra. Neji, more ninja training and less Hyuuga training."
"In second place is Tenten… I'm sorry what is your last name again?" "I don't have one, my parents died during the nine-tails attack on the village and any documents about my birth or family were destroyed so I was orphaned and nobody could figure out who my parents were." Tenten confessed. She had never spoken about this to anyone. Not even to her sensei or her teammates and here she was spilling her story to a stranger.
When she looked around she thought she saw a hint of pity in the eyes of the others. But for the bigger part there was understanding and compassion.
Menma gritted his teeth and laid his hand on his stomach without anyone noticing. 'great! Just great! I'm going on a date with the girl that lost her parents to the thing inside me. Sure throw another pile of misery on top! Why not?! One more can't be that much of a difference can it?!' he thought with a sarcastic tone.
"Sorry about that." Ryuudan apologized. "No, it's okay, go on."
"Yes" *clearing throat* "So, Tenten in second place with 7.5 points. I would suggest learning more jutsu so you can combine them with your weapons when you've gotten further in your training." Tenten nodded.
"And in first place with 9 points! Shino Aburame! I don't have much to say except for step up your training and socialize a bit more with people from your team and outside of it." Shino merely nodded.
"Now as a reward, if it's okay with your teachers I'll allow you all a day off." Ryuudan said looking at the other jounin. Asuma, Kakashi and Gai glanced at each other and then gave Ryuudan the green light.
"It seems you'll all get to enjoy your day off. Team 13 tomorrow at 9 o'clock at training ground 13! That's all!" Ryuudan said before he disappeared in a gust of wind and leafs.
The other Jounin gave their own teams a similar goodbye and took off, leaving all 12 genin on the grounds.
Sasuke was the first to break the silence. "I don't know about you losers, but I've got training to do." He said and headed towards the Uchiha compound.
"YOSH! Uchiha-san's dedication towards his training is most YOUTHFUL indeed! I will be the first to reach the village, if not I'll do 10.000 pushups!" Lee exclaimed and dashed off towards the village.
"Lee wait! Have you already forgotten what Ryuudan-sama has told you?! You need to rest your body!" Tenten shouted trying to get some sense into her teammate. Unfortunately Lee was already too far to hear her.
Neji snorted in discontent at his hyper teammates behavior. He then turned his head towards left and said "Hinata-sama, we should head back to the compound to inform your FATHER of the change in our training regimen." Neji said in his condescending tone while spitting the word father as something distasteful.
"Y-yes, Ne-Neji onii-sama." Hinata stuttered and followed behind Neji. "I'll see you tomorrow, Menma-san, Shikamaru-san." She said looking over to her teammates. They nodded and waved her farewell.
Slowly everyone started moving towards the village. "I guess I'll head home as well." Tenten said starting to move. "Wait! Tenten…" Menma hesitantly spoke. Tenten looked over her shoulder and noticed a nervous Menma standing behind her. His arm raised slightly in a hesitant reaching gesture.
"Yes?" Tenten asked friendly.
"I was just thinking that since we're getting off of training early, we could go on that date… if you want… if you can." Menma suggested while his cheeks gained a slight blush.
"Sure, I'd love to" Tenten smiled. Menma sighed in relief that he hadn't been turned down and smiled back. "So where are you taking me?" Tenten asked.
"Don't worry, you'll see."
Konoha shopping district/15 minutes later.
Menma and Tenten were sitting at a small round table at a café, drinking lemonade and eating dango. They had started a conversation about what would be the best way to deal with Might Guy and Rock Lee.
Tenten seemed to be a fan of scolding the two, hoping that one day they would actually listen. Menma, being a man himself, didn't think that was very likely and instead proposed a good beating. Then there was Neji's method by ignoring both completely and utterly unless absolutely necessary.
The conversation continued for a while, but was replaced with other subjects like what it was like to live by yourself. "Don't you ever feel like… you just want to ruin their happiness when a happy family walks by?" Menma asked Tenten. "Sometimes…" Tenten admitted. "But it's not their fault though, and I keep myself satisfied with the thought that one day I might have a family of my own. A loving husband and beautiful child." Tenten said dreamily.
"I never thought about it like that." Menma said lowering his head and disappearing in thought. Tenten suddenly realized that she had just told the boy something that she hadn't told anyone else before.
'It's so odd, I feel so comfortable around him. It feels nice but it just doesn't feel the same as that time.' Tenten thought to herself as she remembered the fight and the kiss.
"By the way, where do you get your weapons? Don't all those weapons cost a lot of money?" Menma asked. Tenten smiled and said "Why don't I show you?"
shopping district/5 minutes later.
Five minutes later, Menma and Tenten were standing in front of small building that used to be a collection of small apartments. Written on the sign, hanging above the door, was "Real steel weapons shop".
Menma looked at Tenten, raising his eyebrows, saying "Seriously?" Tenten merely giggled at his face, opening the door, she turned around. "Are you coming or not?" she asked before stepping inside. Menma hesitated for a moment but then followed.
When he got inside the store did indeed seem like it was built inside of an apartment building. The walls separating the different apartments had been knocked down to make room for the shop, and half of the ceiling had been removed combining the first and second floor. To the right was a stairway leading up to where, no doubt, the better quality weapons were stored.
It took Menma a while to notice that Tenten had started moving again. Menma closed the door behind him and followed Tenten to the far end of the room where a young man with sunglasses sat on a stool, reading a porn magazine. Or so Menma thought.
"What's the point of having such filth when you're blind?" Tenten asked. The man looked up and stared into her general direction. "Tenten! I may be blind but I'm still a man aren't I? It's good to HEAR your voice again." The man said. "Good to SEE you as well Gunji. But still if you're blind you might as well have a cookbook." Tenten retorted. "True. But a cookbook won't allow me to pull pranks on people who don't know I'm blind." Gunji said with a face splitting grin. "You're hopeless!" Tenten said shaking her head.
"Is there someone else here? I thought I heard two sets of feet walking into my shop." Gunji said. "Yes I've brought a friend today his name is Menma" Tenten said. "Friend?! Even after we shared that kiss together I'm nothing more than a friend? You're breaking my heart Tenten-baby!" Menma joked.
"Menma!" Tenten exclaimed trying to hide her blush. "Oh my, seems our little girl is growing up!" Gunji said. "So when is the wedding?" he joked further. Tenten glared at Gunji. "Even though I can't see anything I can still feel your anger trying to strangle me!" Gunji said as he rubbed his throat.
Afterwards Tenten dragged Menma off to the rest of the shop showing him all the different weapons. Using the money he had earned doing D-rank missions every afternoon, he was able to buy several less than basic quality weapons. However, he now possessed a wide range of weapons with which he could train.
For a minute or two Menma sneaked off with Gunji when she was distracted by spear. When he returned to her she hadn't even noticed he had disappeared. Eventually they paid for their weapons and left, Tenten sealing everything inside of her scrolls while Menma struggled to carry all of his own items.
Once they got outside Tenten noticed this and laughed saying: "We really need to get you a sealing scroll for those!" and she continued laughing as he dropped something and dropped all the rest when he tried to pick it up.
It was then that he remembered he could use his shadow clones to do it. "I've got an idea!" he said and he formed a cross with two fingers on each hand. "Shadow Clone Technique!" he yelled, and right before her eyes Tenten watched as there now stood 5 extra copies of Menma in front of her.
She was even more amazed when they all turned out to be physical as they were able to pick up the weapons scattered on the ground. "Well, it's a neat trick but you can't keep walking around with your clones forever. Imagine seeing a group of Lee walking by, that'd be weird. Come on, follow me and I'll teach you how to seal all of that into a scroll." Tenten said.
Konoha park/10 minutes later.
10 minutes later Menma and Tenten found themselves on a bench in the park. It hadn't been a pleasant walk. People had kept staring at them as she passed by with a group of Menma's tagging along behind her. At the time she felt so embarrassed she could have sworn her face had turned into a tomato.
"It's about time I teach you how to seal away your weapons into a scroll." Tenten said as she pulled out two scrolls. Menma dispelled his clones and sat down beside her.
Tenten started by showing Menma her own seals and told him to look at them closely. Then she started to explain the meaning behind every symbol. Then she explained that by combining the different symbols you would get different results.
Menma listened with great interest as Tenten explained how the art of sealing worked. And as he listened, it felt like a world of possibilities started forming inside his mind. Somehow he could see how the symbols connected with each other, how the patterns fit together and what sort of seal it was and what it was used for.
"And this symbol here means container, it's the symbol responsible for holding the sealed object. And this one…" Tenten explained. "And that one holds the chakra used to power the seal, and these two are for locking and unlocking the container symbol so that you can seal and unseal the object!" Menma said interrupting her.
Tenten looked at Menma who was carefully studying the symbols on the scroll, his eyes flashing from left to right over the seals. 'Amazing! He's got a talent for this. Even more than me! Neji and Lee were never able to master the sealing technique!' Tenten thought.
"Yes that's correct, but the chakra symbol works in different ways and can be adjusted to hold different amounts of chakra. To put it simply, this chakra symbol is like a glass. If you pour chakra into the glass until it is full then it will supply chakra forever and the chakra will never run out. However if you pour more chakra into it than it can hold it will spill over and activate the seal or destroy it, depending on the type of seal. And if you don't fill it all the way, the chakra will slowly be used up until it is all used up and the seal will deactivate. Which means you can used it as a timer, if you know how long it will take for the chakra to be used up." Tenten explained.
"So what did you mean by adjusting the chakra symbol?" Menma asked.
"This chakra symbol, if filled just underneath the maximum will last for 1 minute. But if I make the symbol bigger or add this…" she said as she drew a small dot next to the symbol. "… then it will be upgraded from 1 minute to 2 minutes. You can add up to 4 dots next to it, if you want a fifth then need to put a '^' symbol instead. Then you can add up to another 4 dots or two '^' symbols underneath each other." Tenten explained.
"Where did you learn all this?" Menma asked. "There is a scroll in the library called: 'Sealing technique for genin/Fuinjutsu genin no tame ni'. You should read it. Now why don't you try it yourself?" Tenten said.
Menma really did have a talent for sealing. His first seal didn't work as he had forgotten a symbol. "Seals are very fragile if a single symbol is wrong or missing or too much the entire seal falls apart." Tenten shared with him.
Menma did succeed on his second try and he quickly copied it several times on the empty scroll Tenten had given him. By the time all of his weapons had been sealed away the sun almost hit the horizon.
Menma noticed that the sun was setting and quickly jumped off of the bench. He grabbed Tenten by the hand and started running. "Quick! Follow me! There is one last thing we need to do!" He said.
Hokage monument/fourth hokage head/2 minutes later.
2 minutes later they were standing on top of the fourth's stone head. Both were out of breath and panting, sweat dripping from their faces.
"I don't think we're allowed up here Menma!" Tenten panted. "It's okay, trust me! This place has the best view in the entire village!" Menma replied.
When they had caught their breath they sat down and watched the sunset, enjoying the last rays of sunlight warming their body's.
When the sun had fully set the only light were the lights shining through the windows of the homes. It was a beautiful sight to behold and Tenten was in awe of it's beauty. "I never knew Konoha was so beautiful at night!" Tenten thought out loud.
"Tenten… I have a gift for you." Menma said.
"A gift?" Tenten said surprised and watched as Menma unsealed a custom made kunai. The kunai was made from the same steel as a katana so it didn't have the regular black color. Instead it shined with a silver shine and it was flat instead of the normal 4 sided kunai. On both sides the kanji's for "best kunoichi" were engraved on the blade. 'How was he able to hide that?' Tenten thought as she took the kunai from him.
"I had Gunji engrave it for me when you weren't looking." Menma explained.
Tenten looked into Menma's eyes and tears started forming in her eyes. Menma was about to ask her what was wrong but Tenten suddenly threw herself forward and hugged him.
"Thank you, Menma! I love it!" she said and she tightened her grip on him. It took a moment but he quickly returned the hug.
They stayed like that, hugging each other for a while when Menma broke free and laid his hands on her shoulders and caught her gaze. "Tenten…(pause)… I had a lot of fun today…(pause)… but I didn't get the same kind of feeling that I felt back then." Menma said.
Tenten turned slightly more somber "Yeah me neither… I mean, today was a lot of fun, and it definitely felt like a date. …but I don't think I feel for you in that way."
"Then, I guess, we'll just be good friends?!" Menma asked in a suggesting way.
"Best friends!" and Tenten hugged Menma again.
End chapter 7: Dating with a friend!
Finally! It' finally done. It took a long time to get this chapter done, I'm really glad I did! The sparring matches are over and so is the date. I can finally start progressing the story.
However I'm going to take a pause from this story because I want to finish my other story which hasn't had an update for a much longer time.
I've also started two other new stories: "Agni's disease" = Avatar the last airbender and "Overlord: The rise of Nerex" = Overlord (video game). These two have also been put on pause because I want to finish my first story I started writing: "A New Friend! A New World!"
I'll see you next chapter and don't forget to FAVORITE, FOLLOW and REVIEW. You can also send me your own ninjutsu and if it's good enough I'll try and have Menma use them in future events.
