"Why don't you get lost, you unwanted stray!" the boy had taunted. Next, Luffy jumped on the kid so fast that Ace hadn't been able to stop him. Being much smaller than the boy, Luffy had been thrown to the ground easily.
Seeing this, Ace discarded his shame and wielded his anger.
They both arrived home bloodied, small, matching grins stretched across bruising faces.
Garp took one look at them and sighed, for once opting not to smack them. He had sat them down, and together they ate the worst meal Ace had ever had.
It is his fondest memory.
