It isn't like his life is one big sob story. In fact, it's the opposite. Sometimes he felt like he lived in a fairy tale. He had been a poor, unwanted orphan boy who was suddenly catapulted into a new life. He had been given a grandfather that, despite his roughness, somehow loved him unconditionally, a brother who looked up to him, and a friend who he had shared a short but significant part of his life with. He stopped feeling sorry for himself and started counting his blessings.
He had been so happy, and that was the real tragedy.
