A/N: I've had a lot of free time on my hands, but I'm just reading other stories for some inspiration. So I hope this chapter I can get into Paul's past a bit, maybe have some adrenaline rush. Who knows, read to find out o:

Callie's PoV
I was trembling in Paul's arms, as the pack slowly exited my room through my window. Sam told Paul to protect me at all cost, I just didn't want to seem like I was becoming a burden on him. Paul squeezed me tighter, I heard him take a deep breath.
"Callie, I love hugging you and all. I need to let go of you so I can go to the bathroom." Paul said with a chuckle, I felt my face turn red. I released him and looked at the ground.
"Sorry, go ahead. I'll be here." I said turning around to close the window.
"Callie, don't worry. You'll be safe, I'll protect you and so will the pack."
"But I want to know where my mom is. I want her to be here now, so she's protected too."
"I'll go to the bathroom, then I'll check on the guys."
"Ok, hurry up." I said grabbing my laptop, and taking it to my bed with me. I logged into Facebook, I saw I had a lot of notifications. Clicking on it I saw many of my friends linking the same story. "Local Girl Missing" I clicked on the link, a picture of Karen Lutz popped up. I started to read the article…
"Local Girl Missing"
Karen Lutz of Port Angeles, Washington has been missing since last Tuesday. Witnesses say they saw her leave Rock Gymnastics at 9pm after her practice, no one has any record of where she went. But her parents are starting to think the worse.
I closed the article, if Leah was right then Karen could be a vampire… or dead. I felt a tear slide down my cheek, I quickly wiped it away. Paul didn't need a total mess from me, I heard my door open Paul stepped into the room and locked my door.
"Turn around, I'm gonna phase in your room. I don't need you to see me naked." Paul smirked and I quickly turned around. About a minute later, I heard a roar and then a wet nose touched the back of my neck. I screamed and slapped Paul in the snout.
"You dick! Don't fuckin do that." I yelled throwing a pillow at the laughing wolf. I glared at the wolf, then turned around to keep looking out the window.
"Callie? Kristin? David?" I heard a voice call. I spun around to see Paul was human again, and naked. I let out a squeak and turned back around, covering my face.
"I'm… I'm sorry!" I said into my hands.
"Got a nice look honey?" Paul joked. "Your mom is home, go see what she wants." He added.
"Dick." I whisper to him before I exit my room. "Yeah mom?" I called before I started sliding down the stairs. My mom stood at the bottom of the steps, her face was white.
"Oh Callie!" My mom sighed hugging me.
"Hi mom." I said into her shoulder.
"Your father took Kristin and they left us. I just got off the phone with them, and Dr. Cullen called. He wants to remove your cast tonight, so lets go."
"Let me go get my shoes." I crawled up the stairs, to my room. Paul was sitting on my bed. "I have to go get my cast removed now. Dr. Cullen called, so I'm heading there now." I added in a low voice.
"Ok, I'll follow you as a wolf." He said exiting my room through the window again. I watched him run off into the woods. I grabbed my uggs and crutches then went down the stairs to meet my mom at her car.
The car ride to Forks was long, without being able to talk to Paul. I knew he was going to meet me up there, and then come up with some bullshit lie why he was there. I'm glad my mom likes him though. As we drove past a clearing I saw 3 of the pack members. I made eye contact with the black one, I knew it was Sam. The wolves took off in the directions we were heading in. I guess they knew about something, or Paul wanted them to get ready for a fight.
As we got to the small hospital, Paul "casually" walked out from behind a car. He smiled and waved to me, I smiled and couldn't help but wave back.
"Isn't that Paul?" My mom whispered.
"Yeah thats him." I smiled hobbling over towards him.
"Hey hun." He said quietly, pecking me on the cheek.
"Hi Paul." My mom said waving.
"Evening Ms. Jay." Paul said with a smile, he walked up to her and gave her an awkward hug. My mom smiled and accepted the hug anyway. Together we hobbled into the hospital, Dr. Cullen was in the waiting room.
"Callie, thank you for coming on such short notice." He said smiling the looked up towards Paul. "Good to see you again Paul." He added. Paul said nothing, and I knew he was holding back a growl. "Let's get start then, please follow me." Dr. Cullen walked through the door leading to different rooms, I followed him into a room called "Cast Removal." Dr. Cullen patted on the usually doctor bed, and I hopped up onto it. Paul took a seat next to the table, my mom sat in normal chair.
"Any pain at all Callie?" Dr. Cullen asked.
"None." I replied.
"Good good, I have to go through this whole Q & A business. First let's get that cast off and get an x-ray of your leg. To make sure it's healed correctly."
"Alright."
"Let's get to work then." He said pulled out a mini-saw. "This is the easy part, the hard part is if you can stand still long." He chuckled, I took a mental note.
"I don't think I can stand watching my daughter get her cast taken off, I'll just wait in the waiting room." My mom said quickly before exiting. I giggled, as Paul and Dr. Cullen laughed.
"Well that was easy." Paul joked, Dr. Cullen laughed.
"Paul hold this, and don't move." Dr. Cullen said, giving Paul the mini-saw and he turned it on.
"Got it."
"Why does he have to hold that? Don't you need it to take the cast off?" I asked.
"Nope, I can remove your cast in about 2 seconds. Don't blink."
Before I could ask why Dr. Cullen put his hands at the top of the cast by my knee, and ripped it apart in a straight line. "Tada." He smiled.
"Show off." I grumbled.
"Paul please get Callie's mom, I'm going to get x-rays of her leg. Even though the venom has healed any damage she has, but its standard procedure." Paul stood up and left quickly to find my mom. I stood my up, my left leg a little bit weak. Dr. Cullen grabbed my arm to help steady myself. "I should have added your leg may be weak, but there is a small trace of venom in your left leg. You haven't been walking on your leg so the blood flow hasn't brought it to your muscles. Once you take a couple of steps the weak leg will go away."
"Awesome." I said walking slowly ahead of Dr. Cullen. I felt my leg become its normal self, strong and able to hold me full weight. "I really wanna run now." I joked.
"Its possible now, but you must act like you cannot fully walk yet."
"Aw man!"
"It's alright, you won't have to go through the boring physical therapy. It's required, but I can always pull strings."
"Well that's good. Right? I've never done physical therapy."
"It's a long, boring process. It is helps strengthen up the body part that has been injured. Or it can be just to help keep muscles moving."
"Oh, that does sound boring."
"It is." Dr. Cullen said opening the door to the x-ray room. "Lie down on the table, and standard question. Are you pregnant?"
"She better not be." My mom said into the room, as she and Paul walked past.
"I'm 100% sure I'm not pregnant." I said laughing.
"Alright, lets get you set up for this x-ray. Stay still." He said softly, walking into a different room. I heard a click, then the buzzing of the x-ray machine. "Done, lets take you back to your mom." He left the room I sat up and followed him. There was no conversation as we took the short walk back to the room. I entered and Paul looked up at me relieved.
"The x-rays will take a minute, but seeing how Callie walks is amazing. It's like she's never been on crutches for the past couple weeks. I don't think she'll need to do physical therapy, but the x-rays will tell me more information." Dr. Cullen said with a smile.
"That's wonderful, oh Callie we can move back to Texas so you can train again." My mom cheered.
"Wow, I never thought of that. To be honest mom, I don't think I want to go back to gymnastics." I said quietly.
"We'll have this conversation later." My mom said looking at me like I had broken one of her best china dishes. I gulped in fear.
"Alright, the x-rays are back." Dr. Cullen said breaking the tension in the room. "Amazing Callie, what a perfect heal. Your leg and knee are beautiful."
"So no physical therapy?" I asked quietly.
"None." He said with a smile. "Mrs. Jay why don't you go pay for the appointment, I'll give Callie some drills to work on. Just in case her leg does get weak."
"Alright. Callie when your done go to the car." My mom said leaving the room.
"What's up leech?" Paul said.
"Alice is worried. She thinks Jacob's theory is correct, the mass murders could be someone creating an army."
"An army? For what?" Paul said, trying to keep his anger under control.
"Victoria has had many attempts at killing Bella. All have failed, so we think this is her army. But with Callie's sister and father in the army as well, things may go down differently than what we planed. Paul is there a way you can convince the pack to meet, Jasper has some training techniques that could help us win an army of this magnitude."
"Consider it done." Paul said with a smirk.
