Jacob's POV

"You have the patrol schedule for the week?"

"Yeah."

"You have the hotel information and trip itinerary?"

Sam was annoyed. I'd gone over patrols for the week, details of the trip with Bella, and contingency plans in case something went wrong at home or on the trip. I wanted to have absolutely no worries while we were away, and knowing there were back up plans to the plans helped ease those concerns. I switched the cell phone to my other ear.

"Yes. Jake, we'll be fine, you guys just enjoy your trip. Now get outta here before you miss your flight."

"Thanks Sam, I owe you one."

With a grunt of agreement the line disconnected, and I put the phone in my pocket. Of course we took care of each other, but this was the farthest I'd be away from home since Phasing. And because of that fact, I knew I'd have to pay him back for taking over for old time's sake while I was gone. I headed back inside the house feeling at ease that the former Alpha could handle the Pack for a week.

"Are you at least going to tell me what to pack so I know what to bring?!"

Bella looked so cute when she was frazzled. She'd just come home from spending the day with the girls. They were kind enough to keep Bella distracted while I packed our clothes and ran out to pick up things we'd need while away.

"I already took care of that, so don't worry your pretty little mind. Just relax."

Bella's brow furrowed and her nose wiggled, like "I Dream of Jeannie".

"I am relaxed! I just like to be prepared."

She fisted both hands on either side of her head, and flopped backwards on the bed. Her mahogany locks splaying around her like a halo. I hovered over her, careful not to put too much weight on her small frame, my forearms bracketing her head. I couldn't help but chuckle at how much of a control freak Bella was and kissed her button of a nose.

"Look just chill Bells, I'm more than capable of planning and preparing a trip. I mean, I am the Alpha to a pack of shapeshifters and Chief to an entire tribe of people. Now go take a quick shower, we need to leave in an hour so we aren't late."

Pulling Bella up off the bed, I gave her a smack on the ass, she squeaked as she ran off to the bathroom. While she was in the shower, I checked on some last minute details to make sure we had everything, and loaded our suitcases and backpacks in the car.

"Attention passengers the time now is 4:30pm and we will be landing in San Juan, Puerto Rico shortly. Please fasten your seatbelts, and as always thank you for choosing United Airlines." A female voice announced in a perky tone.

Bella squeezed my arm, turning her head to me, her chocolate colored eyes gawked at me with surprise. I'd managed to get her through most of the trip so far without her knowing where exactly we were going. I had to constantly keep her on her toes, giving her earphones to listen to music, and shielding her view occasionally. "San Juan?!" her voice bordered on a whispered scream.

"Not quite babe, we have one more connecting flight to our destination."

We'd already made one connecting flight, and if I was being honest I'd been cooped up in airplanes long enough. It didn't matter that I'd paid extra for the leg room, the air was stuffy, the seats were still cramped, and not everybody had a decent scent. Fortunately Bella could tell when I was getting antsy and calmed me and the wolf down enough to endure it. After landing, we made a pit stop in the restrooms. Of course I was done before Bella. Pulling out my phone I checked the time, our plane should be arriving in a few minutes.

"We don't need to get our bags from baggage claim?" Bella was smiling, her face looking a little flushed, she'd also changed clothes.

"Nope it'll be loaded on the next plane for us. Are you feeling okay?" Wrapping my arm around her shoulders, I guided her to our gate.

"Yeah, I just needed to wash my face. Recycled air on the plane makes my skin feel tight and dry. Not to mention it's warm as hell in this airport so I rushed to change clothes. I can't wait to see where we're going, if we're not staying here. Please tell me you packed plenty of shorts and tank tops for me?"

"Sure did Bells." I laughed kissing her forehead. I really did pack clothes with minimal coverage, it was gonna be hot and sunny all week, and my girl could use vitamin D. Really I was just being selfish.

"Attention passengers, flight 118 to Vieques is now boarding." A Spanish accent announced over the PA system.

"That's us."

Bella was staring out the large window at the small charter plane outside. We were the only two boarding the flight. "Okay now I'm starting to feel fancy. A plane for just us?"

Handing our boarding passes to the attendant, we started the walk towards the tarmac. "As much as I'd like to think that's the case, it's not. We're going to a smaller island called Vieques, and the air strip is too small for a regular airliner."

Bella raised both eyebrows nodding her approval. After a closer look Bella asked, "Are you going to fit inside this plane?"

"I guess we'll find out", I couldn't help but laugh at the worry spreading across her face.

The pilot introduced himself as he pulled down the latch of the small plane. "Welcome aboard Mr. and Mrs. Black." He had an accent I couldn't place, looked like he'd been in the sun a little too long, with short dirty blond hair and wore Aviators sunglasses.

At the sound of "Mrs. Black" I felt a sense of pride building somewhere in me. I like the sound of that.

I barely fit inside the small plane. It was so hot in the small vessel it felt oppressive, I was glad the flight was no more than 20 minutes. As the plane took off, we felt every breeze and gust of wind, the plane tilting this way and that, and feeling like it skipped along the wind. Bella reached for my hand from her seat in front of me, I could hear her heart rate accelerate. The Pilot didn't seem concerned, but I was a little nervous myself, the wolf didn't appreciate feeling so out of control midair. I pulled a camera out of my bag to distract us, "Smile Bells."

Turning to face me in her seat, Bella smiled but her eyes looked tight with fear. Seeing it in a photograph with the cramped plane in the background only made it funnier. The pilot made small talk with us, and I let Bella take pictures of the scenery below. The water was a clear green-blue color, mountains with buildings clustered together, and plenty of sand and trees. We could see people riding jet skis below us, leave a swirling trail of waves behind them. Before we knew it we were finally landing, and Bella was squeezing the shit out of my hand.

"Please wait for your luggage, and we will bring it to you." The pilot informed us, as we shook hands, "Enjoy your trip."

Walking away from the plane a thought crossed my mind, "Bella are you afraid of flying?" I grabbed our luggage from a valet who unloaded the plane, nodding my thanks to him.

"No…maybe just a little. You could feel every bump and turn on that thing, of course I was scared! The last thing I expected was to think our last moments would be at the start of our vacation." She looked at me with mock horror.

"Well don't worry, I'll make it up to you with the fun stuff I have planned."

"I can't believe we're on such a beautiful island, I'm so excited! Did you find my swimsuits? I'm lucky that I even own a few considering where I've lived in the last 10 years."

"Bella I think you'll be fine without a swimsuit" I definitely couldn't wait to see her in one.

Bella bumped me with her hip, all the while smiling. I planned on keeping that smile on her face all week. Just as we walked up to our resort's pick-up area, the shuttle pulled up.

"Mr. Black?" A guy who looked not much older than us asked opening the double doors to a van.

"Yeah, that's me."

"Welcome to Vieques, I'll be your driver to the W Retreat and Spa."

Bella got in first and the sight of her denim shorts covering her bubble butt in my face, as she climbed in the van, was already causing my jeans to get uncomfortable. In fact ever since she came out of the restroom at the airport I'd been practically drooling over her. She was wearing a peach colored V-neck t-shirt that exposed her cleavage more than usual, denim shorts with brown sandals that reminded me of Gladiator. I'd never been more ready to get Bella alone. Dense trees were on either side of the winding road as we drove along, every now and then a small house made of brightly colored cement was in between. The sun was still high enough to shine through the trees, it 73 degrees out but with the ocean breeze surrounding us it was comfortable even for me. We pulled into the driveway of the resort and Bella was practically bouncing in her seat to get out.

"Hold on firecracker." I was happy to see her already looking so excited. I didn't even need to help her out of the van since she practically leapt out of it.

"Oh my god, Jake this place looks amazing! Look you can even see the water from the lobby! Can we please get in the water first, it looks so beautiful? Do you think the water's cold?" Bella was like a kid at Disney World, her smile lit up her entire face.

"Let's find our room first and we'll do anything you want sunshine."

Her energy was radiating and getting my hyped up. Hopefully this was a sign of a good week ahead of us. Pulling my backpack over my shoulders and grabbing both of our luggage we headed inside. The entrance of the resort had giant light and dark wood paneled doors and a dimly lit colorful geometric chandelier outside, different types of plants were everywhere but it added to the tropical ambient vibe. A friendly looking woman waited for us with a smile at the front desk.

"Hello Mr. Black, your room is ready for you now. As you can see we have a lounge area for you to enjoy at any time. Our onsite restaurant, Sorcé, will be serving dinner from 6:00pm to 10:30pm if you wish to dine there. Here are two room keys for you and a map of the island if you're interested in any activities during your stay. Please follow Eduardo and he will show you to your room."

The lounge space was massive and open with high ceilings. Plenty of chairs and couches surrounded the space in a way that encouraged you to be social. The furniture was colorful and inviting, and there was a great view of the beach, you cool also see the long rectangular pool lined with lounge chairs and cabanas.

"This way please." Another hotel staffer directed us.

"Everyone's so nice here." Bella whispered to me as she took hold of my hand.

"Well I'd hope so, we're good paying customers." I whispered back, and she elbowed me in the side.

The pathway to our room was lined with lamps and white gravel. The salty air smelled refreshing, natural plant fragrances mixing with it. Palm trees litter the place, and birds I'd never heard before were chirping as if they were talking to each other. We could even hear the water from where we were walking. The staffer led us to the entrance of what appeared on the outside as a beachfront condominium. He placed our luggage on a stand and asked if we needed anything else. Bella and I said in unison no, and I gave him a tip, all but shoving him out the door.

"You were in a hurry to get him out of here." Bella smiled with a knowing look in her eyes. Her heart rate seemed to jump and I could smell that she was already on the same page as me.

"I doubt you cared Bella. In fact, I know you're in a hurry to be alone with me just as much as I am." Prowling towards her I put my hands on either side of her face. I'd waited long enough, I leaned in for a kiss. What started as something languid turned into a slow burning fire, Bella's hands crept up my neck, her fingers running through my scalp.

"What about the beach?" She panted in between breaths.

Bella'd already started undoing my pants, picking her up by those creamy thighs that'd been taunting me all day, I carried her to the large bed and laid her down.

"It'll be there when we're done."

A/N: This would've turned out to be a really long chapter (by this story's standards) so I will post another very soon. Let me know what you guys think or would like to see happen next. Enjoy!
