I'm back minna-san and with the the fourth chapter. To think I was actually planning to drop this story, but I persevered and I'm here. Happy reading!
Over the years Kirino and Shindou had become closer. Shindou became really popular nearing the end of elementary school, but that didn't interfere with their friendship. From Kirino, Shindou had learned to be tough when necessary and speak up more often, but he was still a major crybaby at times. From SHindou Kirino learned to mellow down and open up to people more...but he could still beat the crap out of any bastard who came his way. Not that Shindou needed to know, but the brunette had a feeling his pink haired buddy was still tough.
"Kirino~?" Shindou sang as he bounced on his bed. At the moment Shindou and Kirino where hanging out in Shindou's room. School was starting again in a few days, but not not just another school day but middle school. The two boys had both made it into Raimon Jr. High.
Kirino looked up from the book he was reading and gave the other a bland look. "What?" he asked a bit rudely, but Shindou wasn't deterred. "Kirino I was thinking that you should change your hairstyle instead of your usual ponytail."
Kirino wasn't sure what sparked this thought but didn't question it. Usually questioning Shindou lead to more questions than answers. "What do you suggest?" When he heard the suggestion he wasn't sure if his best friend realized that he was a boy...not some little girl. "Pigtails…" he sweatdropped. "...are you sure?" The other nodded furiously.
When Kirino gave the okay Shindou quickly grabbed some hair ties and a brush. He loved playing with Kirino's hair because it was so soft, fluffy, silky...and soft. Mostly 'cause it was soft. He undid the ponytail and proceeded to brush out the pink locks with careful precision. The he separated the boy's hair into two and tied them. "There," he cheerily announced.
Kirino looked in the mirror and sighed. It didn't look too bad, but he still looked girly. Not that he honestly cared. "It's okay I guess…" he sighed. Shindou smiled happily, he had a feeling Jr. high would be amazing.
~Somewhere else in the world~
"Finally I'm out of that place," a teen grumbled. He had a well toned body yet extremely pale skin. Paler than usual that is. He long black hair was tied in a low ponytail. He wore a plain white shirt and some old jeans. "Wonder where he is?" he looked around for his older brother.
"Hey runt where you been?" a gruff voice yelled at him. Said person just smirked. "They just let me out. Would have been out sooner but you…" His older brother smirked.
When they got into the car the older of the two looked at the other with a serious look."So what happened, you were supposed to be out of that rehab center two years ago."
"No need to make a big deal out of it Takashi-nii. They said that I could come out only if I am a good boy, and now I'm out. I've been a very good boy, so no need to worry!" The raven smiled happily at his older brother, almost too happily. The one now dubbed Takashi suppressed a shiver. He could see something behind that smile, but he wasn't sure what.
Takashi collapsed onto his bed, in frustration. Since he was now his brother's caretaker he didn't know how to go about it. Their parents said they didn't want Nori; something about sullying their family name. He was the only one in his family who was willing to take in a 'potential killer' into his care. But he honestly only did it out of pity. But he somehow felt an urge to just completely get rid of the boy, like Nori was more trouble than he was worth.
"Why couldn't I have a normal family?" he whined to himself as he curled into a fetus position. One of his aunts was married to a billionaire guy who lived in America. An uncle from his mom's side married a gold digger. His grandfather used to be in a gang and tries to encourage him to join one too. His grandmother used to work for a travelling circus in Britain… and for one reason or another she could still do back flips and tumble rolls like nobody's business. A small handful out of the endless sea of cousins he had actually were in street gangs or in the Yakuza. His older brother married a hooker, and their son…his nephew ,who is slightly older than he himself, is now a male stripper. He didn't even want to know how that happened. His father used to a drug dealer. And his mom used to be a street fight… that probably should have been a sign from the start that his family was filled with weirdos. Now his brother has the potential to be a psychotic killer… all he needed was to actually kill somebody. And his lil' bro already tried to kill somebody. The same person! Twice! In less than a week! "My life…"
~In Nori's room~
A certain raven with beady red eyes sat on the floor of his new room, plotting. He wanted revenge. He would get revenge. He would have gotten his revenge two years ago if those douche bags at the rehab center didn't piss him of. He wouldn't have had to beat them to a bloody pulp if they hadn't. He wouldn't have gotten in that god for saken place in the first place if he hadn't gotten caught. He could have beaten up that annoying rich brat. He would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling brats (scooby doo refrence XD). He punched a near by wall in seething anger… poor poor wall. "Shindou Takuto, I will get my revenge!"
But if i'm gonna get my revenge I need to take nii-chan out of the picture… Oh well I never really liked him anyways, he thought ferally. Nothing would get in his way. Absolutely nothing!
Every single one of those bastards who stood in his way would fall to their feet. He didn't care if he'd have to go back to that hell hole, he'd do anything to make sure all is right in his world. and his world alone. The world was his anyways… nobody had the right to stop him. He'd teach his lowly peasants a thing or two about defying their king. "I and I alone will rule! I am superior! I am the king! I am their ruler! I am Nori! Any nobody get in my way and get away with it… at least not alive." An evil grin crawled onto his face as he dug into his small bag of belongings he gathered from the 'hell hole'. He brought out a bottle and a rag. Oh he was gonna have fun tonight.
Takashi woke up with a pounding headache. For some reason he couldn't really remember what happened last night. It was all bits and pieces, like a really fuzzy jigsaw puzzle. One thing for sure was he wasn't in his room. He was in a dark, creepy, cold place that smelled like death.
The lights suddenly came on and Takashi could see many more people in the room. A boy with messy brown hair a lightly tanned skin. He had freckles on his cheeks and a mole under his left eye. It took a while but he recognized the boy to be Ayame Garou, one of Nori's old friends. But why was he here? Next to him was a very familiar girl with fire red hair. He recognized her as Haruto Miki, one of Nori's friends too. Then realization dawned upon him. Every person in this room had a past with Nori before the rehab center incident.
A cackle resounded through the room. "I see you've figured it out brother, but it's a little too late!" Another cackle was heard except more sinister.
Takashi could only stare at his little brother. "W-why?" he asked helplessly. He didn't get an answer. Soon everything turned black and he knew only one thing. I'm losing blood, and fast.
~About A week Later~
"Kirino, did you hear about all those people going missing?" Shindou asked worriedly over the phone. At the moment he was talking to his best friend on the phone while watching the news. Lately there was a surge of missing people suddenly. He didn't like it.
"Yeah I heard, but I'm sure they'll catch the guy," Kirino said assuringly. It was just like the brunette to get nervous over everything… but he had to admit he was worried too.
"Where are you?" Shindou suddenly asked.
"I'm walking home, don't worry." The pinkette chuckled.
"So late at night! Kirino you better get home safely!," Shindou warned.
Kirino just laughed. "Don't worry I will." With that he hung up. If only he really knew.
Kirino saw his house just a few streets down but then felt a dark presence behind him. He looked around… nobody. Strange. Every second he felt the presence become more threatening, soon he broke into a cold sprint running in fear.
The next morning when Shindou watched the morning news he was met with horror.
"A young boy by the name of Kirino Ranmaru has gone missing. All there was at the crime scene was blood, a knife and a note," the reporter said. Behind him, Shindou could see the police tape. He could see a pool of dried blood. The reporter then held up the knife and note to the screen.
The note read: Come and get me crybaby, or is the rich kid too good for this. Come and get me at the place it all began. ~ Love, your friendly neighborhood king
It was the knife that gave it all away. Shindou had seen that knife. The same knife that used to haunt his nightmares. He knew the killer, and he knew where to go. He ignored the rest of the report in favor of making a plan. Kirino had saved him from death now it was his turn to return the favor.
Mi-chan: This didn't come out as expected but it's okay I suppose. I rather liked the turn out.
Kirino: For the love of-
Shindou: Calm down Krino I'm sure this'll have a happy ending!

Mi-chan: The last chapter is on the way!
