He moaned upon waking, stumbling to his feet. Tears welled up as he took in his surroundings: the spooky basement Mom had told him never to go down, because of rats. He hated the basement.
Featuring Isaac, Chorus
Isaac
I really thought I was good
I tried so hard for you
But I want so desperately to live
Is that so wrong, Lord
Have mercy on this poor soul
And spare me from your blade
Chorus
Fallen down, alone
The lamb would cry
But only monsters would come
Seeking his tainted soul
Isaac
Can it be true
Is our happy life gone
Am I to be her sacrifice
To you, the Lord
Who will save those who stray
[pause, chorus hums]
I'm hurt, crying, dying
But no adults are coming
He wants me to do the right thing
Yet the choice is unclear
Should I give in to these beasts
Yes, I think it's meant to be…
Dear Diary, today I died.
To clarify, Isaac would be at half a heart by the time he considered not fighting back, at least at this point. So, 'dying' wasn't an exaggeration, he literally was dying at that point. First time through the basement is rough, man.
