NFTA-AUGGGGGH! So sorry I fell behind. As I finally started to work on this chapter, my laptop broke and I had to get it fixed. I have to make a bigger effort to be more weekly. This chapter is going to be short though.
Ralph and Sora landed on the sugary ground and immediately ran to the forest. As they scavenger through the Twix Tree forest, they had to defeat lots and lots of Heartless. Yet, they couldn't find Vanellope's heart, looking every nook and cranny for it. Soon, Ralph and Sora found a fork on the road.
"Let's face it, kid," Ralph plumped down on a gumdrop. "That thief's heart is long gone."
"No," refused Sora. "We can't give up."
"It looks like the Heartless has good senses of smell to detect the heart. With their amazing agility, they must have eaten it by now."
"Why are you being so negative?"
"Well, gee. Maybe it's because I, number one, lost the medal after I was looking for one all day. Number two, I got locked in candy jail."
"You know, we could had gotten out sooner if-"
"And number three, I'm on some wild goose chase, finding some rotten brat's heart."
"Come on, Ralph! This is serious!"
"What? Is it your job to protect hearts or something?"
"Actually, yes it is. You know why? Because the Heartless try to find the darkest of people's hearts and consume it. That's how they can take over all worlds." Ralph looked at Sora as if he was crazy.
"Remind me to never go into your crazy, little game."
Sora sighed and plumped down on the gumdrop.
"So, where do you want to go?" thought Sora, looking down.
"Uhh…heart boy. I think we have company!" Ralph panicked. Sora looked up to see a wave of Heartless advancing. Sora and Ralph prepared themselves, but the Heartless didn't approach them. They flew to the right.
"The heart!" cried Ralph and Sora, realizing the Heartless can lead them to the heart. They snuck behind them and right away found Vanellope's heart on the top of a double-stripe Twix tree.
"It was right there the whole time, and we didn't think of checking before resting?!" panicked Ralph.
"Come on!" dashed Sora. The two watched as the Heartless were climbing up the tree to reach the heart. The tree looked like a family of bees swarming a beehive.
"Uhhhh…any good ideas, kid?" frowned Ralph, his hand gesturing to the now-black tree. After a brief pause, Sora smiled.
"Yes…double stripe!" Sora threw the keyblade right to the tree. The keyblade made the tree break, making all of the heartless…and Vanellope's heart fall.
"The heart! The heart! Get it! Get it!" yelled Ralph. Sora ran to the taffy pond, stuck out his hand in the rain of Heartless, and caught the heart.
"Thank you, Jeeves!" Sora mimicked.
"Way to go, kid!" Ralph laughed. Sora picked up his Keyblade.
"Come on, Ralph! We have a heart to give."
But, when Sora and Ralph returned to the giant fungeon cell, Vanellope was gone.
"Oh, great!" growled Ralph. "We came all that way and this way to deliver a heart and Vanellope is gone!" Sora sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Well, the main thing is that we have her heart and soon as we find her, we'll give Vanellope the heart back."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. What do you mean we?" chuckled Ralph. "We had our little adventure, the kid has her heart back, and now you're on your own."
"Hey! Just where you think you're going?" yelled Sora as Ralph started to exit.
"Back at home to Fix-It Felix," said Ralph, "where none of this happens." Before Sora could protest, he heard Ralph mumble, "The Nicelanders are right. I'm not cut out to be a hero. I'll always be the bad guy." Sora started to feel bad for Ralph.
"Hey, Ralph," called Sora, compassionately.
"What, Sora?" Ralph stopped.
"You wanna be a hero?" smiled Sora. "Then, come with me…save the girl! Save the kingdom! Then, you'll be a hero." Ralph looked up.
"You're right, kid." Ralph sighed. He spun to look at Sora. "Where do you think she is?"
"That's the spirit," laughed Sora, hitting his arm playfully.
"Ow," muttered Ralph, rubbing his arm. But, his eyes traveled to an unusual sight. Ralph looked carefully and looked outside.
"What? What is it?" asked Sora, looking outside.
There, he saw two tiny figures with one holding a girl on the top of a volcano.
"I think I found them," said Ralph.
