Ethan didn't see the flicker of surprise in Jesse's icy irises when their lips met. Harshly, the seer pressed his wet, angry mouth against the vampires, and felt those cool lips pull up in what he knew was the beginnings of a smirk. It just made Ethan kiss him all the harder, all the more unfeelingly until Jesse pulled away from him.
"Ethan..." Jesse breathe his name, right against the human's lips, and Ethan would've been lying if he said he was completely unaffected by it. "You're not convincing me you want this."
The tone of his voice...the last time he'd heard that haunting, oddly soothing tone had been weeks and weeks ago, just before the vampire had sunk his fangs into Ethan's neck. Even more odd was that the tone of his voice didn't make Ethan fear what came next– actually, the seer tensed with something like anticipation instead of dread.
"I did what you told me to." Ethan whispered back, swallowing and hating how weak his voice sounded. Ethan shook his head and attempted to lean away more than a few inches. Bringing his hands from where they'd clutched Jesse's arms just above the elbows, Ethan placed them flat against the vampires chest and pushed.
"Let's see how good you are at following orders this time." Jesse whispered against the corner of Ethan's mouth, refusing to budge even an inch. "Kiss me again."
Ethan hesitated for only a few moments before leaning back up to oblige the vampire's command, moving his lips against Jesse's soft ones.
Salty, Ethan noted, hyper aware as his hands moved almost on their own accord, one to curve a thumb around Jesse's jawline. Sweet. The other arm wrapped around Jesse's neck, bringing them unbearably close as Ethan continued his assault on Jesse's perfect mouth.
"I hate you." Ethan whispered breathlessly when he pulled back to fill his lungs with sweet, humid air. Jesse, forever the one to set, push and break limits, held Ethan tight in a hold around his waist, and tilted his chin up with the other hand.
"Hmm." Was all Jesse said, nosing at Ethan's pulse point in his neck. Breathing in his scent.
God, no. Ethan didn't know if he-
The seer could feel the vampire's canines descending even if they weren't pressed against his skin. Ethan breathe deeply, his body twitched once in what could've been adrenaline.
"I don't believe you." Jesse murmured, almost cooed against the sensitive skin of Ethan's neck, and the seer's breathing caught lightly in his chest.
Accidentally, or so Ethan would later remember, his arms tightened around Jesse. So when the involuntary muscle movement brought them closer, it also made Jesse's pearly white fangs brush against the glistening skin of Ethan's neck. Stilling, Ethan felt heat spike in his stomach, and he gasped again, squirming in Jesse's hold.
"Wait!" Ethan breathe, suddenly desperate to put space between them. He once again pushed against Jesse's chest, and this time the vampire let him go. Without Jessie's stability, Ethan almost went underwater, but struggled, panting and kept his head above the surface.
"Wait." Ethan breathe, moving further back and putting at least six feet between them. Jesse watched him with the tip of a slim, pink tongue running across his lips and an otherwise nonplussed expression.
"Wait for what?" Jesse asked, a challenging gleam in his eye, and Ethan felt extreme annoyance well up in his chest...but humiliation as well.
If Ethan were to follow through with the plan he'd thought over so carefully, the seer would no longer resist. Ethan would no longer struggle against Jesse or try to run away. At the same time Jesse had now given him no other choice but to follow his orders. It was a compromise. Maybe the worst compromise Ethan had ever had to make, ever even heard of because...why did it have to be so hard?
'Kiss me' is what. Jesse had said...and hell if Ethan hadn't followed those ordered to a tee. Twice. What was wrong with him, all of a sudden?
How he hated Jesse Black.
He didn't like kissing Jesse! It was...just something he had to do. Right? No matter which way he turned it around and around in his head, he had to admit that he'd lost himself for a moment. Maybe he was just starved for attention? Ethan refused to believe that somewhere, deep down, he had started to crave Jesse's touch, Jesse's praise. It wasn't possible. Ethan hated Jesse Black. Ethan hated him. The seer knew that with every inch of himself.
This man– this creature, had taken his life away. Caused Ethan's family so much loss, had caused Ethan and his family both so much grief. Maybe the seer could have dealt with Jesse only targeting him...but again, no matter which way the situation was turned, Jesse had hurt Ethan's parents, his sister and friends. That was unforgivable.
"Ethan." Jesse was murmuring again, swimming forward slowly with a teasing ghost of a smile on his lips. "Don't run away from me."
"I'm not running away."
As much as Ethan was disgusted with himself, as much as he was confused...
Damn it all.
He did hate Jesse. He just couldn't make himself hate him with as much unadulterated heat and anger as he did when he'd first arrived in France. He just...couldn't. The anger, confusion and grief was still there. He did hate Jesse, just...not as much? Ethan had always been a curious person by nature– he liked to think things through, turn them around in his head at look at things from every angle. It was as much of a coping mechanism as it was a pastime.
The more Ethan he thought about his situation, the more he considered it, the more he began to understand that there must be some kind of greater purpose behind Jesse's actions...when he wasn't playing around. There had to be.
Ethan honestly didn't believe that Jesse had stolen him from his old life just for cruelty's sake. There was something else...he got the feeling that there were so many more pieces to this puzzle, it was astronomical. The thought made him shiver.
The fact of the matter was, there was just some part of Ethan that was utterly fascinated by the dark creature known as Jesse Black.
He couldn't help feeling that way. He had tried to fight it, for the longest time. Now, the seer felt as though his hunger for knowledge and stability was something he couldn't resist, just as any vampire couldn't ignore their need for blood. He literally couldn't feel any worse for thinking this way, but Ethan had gone too long and too far in the dark to trip and fall just before he reached the light. The chance at freedom was there. Even if he could never be completely free of this fate, compromise was in sight.
Ethan was just...tired of fighting.
"Are you ready to compromise?" Jesse asked eventually. When had he gotten so close? Ethan took in a shaky breath. Then he nodded. Yes.
"Are you...afraid of me?" Jesse asked, and the brunet hesitated, before shaking his head 'no'.
"Good." Jesse nodded, then pulled Ethan closer, to begin leading him in the direction of the boat. "Let's have a little talk. Discuss the conditions of our deal."
Ethan didn't even have time to properly gasp, just enough to suck in a shocked breath. There was a swirl of night sky, the city in the distance. The water was gone from around him, his stomach dropped, and when his back hit the wooden floor of the boat, he understood that Jesse had just flown the both of them out of the water.
Ethan hissed, pain radiating from the back of his head and his spine. Damned vampire. He'd heard of the vampire ability to fly, but had never seen it in action. Admittedly, it was kinda cool, but more than a little disorienting.
"Ow." Ethan complained, reaching up to rub the back of his head, but felt himself be slammed down once more, his wrists being taken captive by one pale hand.
"Isn't this familiar?" Jesse asked, nosing at Ethan's throat, inhaling deeply. Ethan struggled under him, uncomfortable. "You remember the night I stole you away? That was the night you became mine, Morgan."
"We're back to a last-name basis are we?" Ethan grunted, still reeling from the pain in his head. Why had Jesse had to slam him down so hard? Jackass.
"Listen." Jesse leaned back to grip Ethan's face with a firm hand. With the light of the moon, he could see Jesse's face perfectly. Too perfectly. The seer looked away, to the stars just beyond and wondered once more if he would ever get used to being so close to Jesse.
"If you join me..." Jesse stroked Ethan's face once, before letting one of his wrists go. One hand still held a wrist above Ethan's head– the other took one of the human's hands in his own, and intertwined their fingers. The contact was simple, yet so intimate, and also the first act to bring a blush to Ethan's face.
"Truly join me...you're going to see things you don't like." Jesse breathe, and Ethan closed his eyes, knowing that now more than ever, he had to listen. This was his entire future. "You're going to see some very bad things..."
Jesse was ghosting his lips up and down Ethan's jaw now, down his neck to his collarbone. All the while, Ethan felt his heart pound and kept his eyes closed. Trying not to become so distracted that Jesse's words became lost to him.
"You'll get to see how very bad I can be..." Jesse's voice was almost nonexistent, but there was no way Ethan could not hear it. "You have no idea how gentle I've been with you so far, your majesty." The vampire grinned and Ethan grimaced. "Just so you know."
"Yeah, I kinda got the whole...cold, heartless vampire concept." Gasping, Ethan opened his eyes as a vision struck him, clear as day. It lasted only a few seconds (sort of a uncalled for mini-vision, something that hadn't happened in a little over a week) and showed simply Jesse's long and glinting fangs sinking into Ethan's neck while they both lay on the floorboards of the boat.
"Ah!" Ethan flinched with the ghost of a memory. He was never not nervous when Jesse sunk his teeth into him. The feeling of being helpless and held down under those teeth never went away, even after the fourth, fifth and sixth bite Jesse had inflicted on him.
"You're not lost in that head of yours are you?" Jesse asked, surprisingly gentle. Ethan shook his head, trying to clear the fuzziness.
"Can you stop that?" Ethan demanded more than asked, shifting as much as he could.
"If that's what it takes for you to listen. We'll have time for fun later." Jesse pulled back and leant above him, still pinning Ethan down with his tall, hard body. "What were those conditions of yours, Morgan?"
"Let me think for a second." Ethan complained quietly, trying to regain some dignity. "And get off of me." Jesse let him sit up, and Ethan raised himself off the floor gingerly, moving to rest against one of the seats. Ethan rubbed his head and stretched, shaking off a bit of vertigo from their short flight, and from the gentle rocking of the boat.
For a minute or so, they both sat, and enjoyed the ambience. The moon had risen a bit more into the sky, casting an almost magical glow over the surrounding ocean. Jesse's eyes were alive, like separate burning entities on their own, glowing almost as bright as the moon.
"I need to write to my parents." Ethan states, keeping a close watch on Jesse as he spoke, making sure he was listening. That he understood. "Whether it's for the best or not in the long run, whether it's kind or cruel, I need to write to my parents and little sister...and my best friend."
"Now is that last one really necessary?"
"Don't joke." Ethan forces out, voice unsteady despite his best efforts. "If I'm going to live this life, I need this."
"Fair enough." Jesse nods. "We'll give you a little time to gather your thoughts and then send it out with great care so it can't be traced. We don't want any more trouble than strictly necessary."
"I want to be able to move without an escort."
"Let's take it easy on that one, okay? I can't make any promises, however I can guarantee that if you commit yourself to me faithfully, you will be allowed all the freedom possible."
Ethan didn't know how much he liked the sound of that. "As much as possible?"
"Yes."
"I can't be kept in the dark." Ethan said, trying to sound firm. "I know I'm just a human...but I can be trusted. If the safety of my family is on the line, and if I have any chance of seeing them again, then I'll do whatever it takes."
They were both silent as the weight of Ethan's words sunk in. Jesse was twirling a ring he always wore around his finger.
"Whatever it takes, huh?" Jesse pondered, leaning back against a seat as well, opposite of Ethan. "Well, that's good. Again, I can't promise that I can tell you everything...not at first."
"—"
"Eventually." Jesse cut in, just as Ethan was opening his mouth to protest. The vampire had a more serious look on his face now. "Eventually, you'll come to know everything. You weren't chosen for your brain, that was just a plus. I might have use for your intelligence later, but let's focus on your other abilities for now, alright? In time, all will come to light...and until then, we need to spend time preparing you."
"Preparing me? For what?"
"For the things your going to experience in the coming years." Jesse responded, and the seer felt a chill run up his spine. "As it is, if this compromise is going to work in any way, you need to answer this question right now..." The vampire's eyes flashed. "Are you sure you're fortified to do whatever it takes?"
"...I'm sure." Ethan didn't know if he was. But he'd have to be.
"I wasn't joking when I said you'll have to see some bad things. You'll probably have to see terrible things...If you're serious about working with me, I'll have to kill in front of you...at some point." Ethan winced. "There's no two ways about that. There are going to be times when you'll want to stop me from doing what I deem necessary. It'll be then that you'll have to accept my decision...and witness something unfavorable or look the other way."
"I'll have to be a coward...basically." Ethan's voice was dull.
"No. You'll understand one day." Jesse leant forward, eyeing Ethan intensely. "It's going to take you a while to start trusting my decisions, Morgan...but trust me." He smirked. "I know best."
"Trust is earned, not just given." Ethan snorted, and rubbed his eyes in exhaustion. It had been a long day, full of intrigue and adventure. It actually hadn't been the worst of days, considering.
"You'll need to learn to take some pain," Jesse went on. "Physical and mental, but that's more of a request or a bit of advice rather than a part of the deal...and you'll need to learn to work under pressure."
"Pain." Ethan said more than asked, staring at the polished wood. Small puddles had begun forming at his feet from when he'd pulled up his knees. "Stress...I can deal with that."
"Don't be afraid of me." Jesse said, quietly this time, and Ethan gazed up at him trough wet lashes. Cautiously. The vampire had a thoughtful look on his face. "No matter what...you will survive, Ethan. Ultimately, you are the one tool I refuse to let slip through my fingers."
"...Then it would be best if this tool was let in on why he's so important." Ethan muttered, half-hopefully. "Right?"
"In time." Jesse nodded. "All in good time. For now, just focus on your seeing abilities. I see it took almost no effort at all for you to predict my movements earlier. You're getting better at seeing on command." He paused. "Are your eyes hurting?"
"Maybe a little." Ethan shrugged.
"That's what you get for ignoring my orders to drink from those vials I gave you." Ethan couldn't help but duck his head sheepishly and Jesse grinned. "We have an understanding then. Now, I know you won't appreciate it, but you'll have to drink from me directly tonight."
"But-"
"Ah, ah, ah!" Jesse waved a long and slender finger at Ethan with his tell-tale smirk. "No arguments. That's a part of the deal, alright?"
"You can't expect me not to argue." Ethan sighed. "Just...take it easy, okay? Im not a soldier. I'm not used to following orders at a moments notice."
"Alright." Jesse leaned forward, a little curve to his lips that made Ethan's stomach flip, remembering his vision from just a few minutes prior. Sometimes his visions had the tendency to change, but he had a feeling that this time, it wouldn't. "So let's review. I let you write home, give you as much freedom as possible, and start preparing you to join me in my experiments and research."
There was a big pause, and Ethan felt it best not to interrupt. Jesse looked tired, suddenly.
"Might I remind you that my goals for the future may well take years upon years, so don't be too hopeful, honestly." The vampire sighed, as though it was actually difficult for him to go on. "But if, by some stroke of fate, we accomplish the final objective...you will be given the choice to return to your old life in Whitechapel. God knows why you would ever want that. As for my conditions–"
"In return, I'll listen to everything you say, and follow your orders...without hesitation." Ethan forced out the words, though they left a foul taste in his mouth. "I'll have to witness terrible things and keep quiet or...look the other way. I need to learn to work under pressure." The teen paused. "Honestly, besides the 'following commands' part, that doesn't sound too different than what we've been doing. Neither does the working under pressure requirement."
"Trust me, it will be." Jesse smiled, looking half pleased and half tired. "We can go over the details later...it's not like all this is written down on paper. But until then..."
Ethan only blinked when Jesse was suddenly two inches from his face. Reaching beyond him into a small compartment, the vampire pulled out an ordinary pocket knife and flicked it open in one easy movement. He brought it to his neck, slid the blade cleanly across the skin there. The cut he created was only about in inch in length, very shallow, and done so quickly it seemed the blade hadn't even touched Jesse's alabaster skin before it was being thrown to the side.
"This should help with your headache." Jesse whispered, swiftly turning them in their positions so that he now leaned back against the boat's padded seat so that Ethan now knelt in front of him.
Ethan, for his part, was disgusted, transfixed and strangely adrenaline-filled as he watched the thick droplets of blood well up from the cut on Jesse's neck. A breeze blew gently passed and cooled Ethan's skin, making him shiver and only worsening the sudden unsettling jumpiness in his limbs.
"I'll be able to feel you better after we regain our blood connection." Jesse commented, and leaned forward with a little smile that Ethan hated. "J'ai raté ça."
I have missed that.
'Shut up!' Ethan snapped in his mind– the only place he felt able to form any words. Jesse's comment made his heart jump in a way he didn't like. The blood was appealing in a way that was sick, almost perverse. The seer didn't want to want it, but his body craved it. He'd been able to ignore it while it had been out of sight, but now it was right there, well within reach...
"Let's see how good you are with predicting commands." Jesse murmured, tilting his head back lazily, and Ethan knew he must have been willingly keeping the cut from closing just so it would drip temptingly down his neck. "I'm sure you won't need a vision for that much."
Knowing what Jesse wanted, and not knowing what to do or say to buy any time, Ethan simply leant forward and licked a long line from the furthest drop down near Jesse's well-formed pectoral to the cut itself. Wasting no time, now with the bitter, sweet, metallic, disgusting taste of Jesse's blood on his tongue, Ethan shuffled forward, until his mouth was well in line with the red, dripping cut.
Gently, though Ethan didn't know why he even bothered, he licked along the line, coaxing more blood to flow forth. Then, securing his lips around the cut, he sucked lightly and felt his body come alive. Felt his magic sing in his chest and flow through his veins, and wondered why he'd ever wanted to stop drinking Jesse's blood. Why stop, and be in pain? Why feel ordinary when he could feel like this?
What actually made Ethan crawl into Jesse's lap to continue drinking, was the little moan of relief Jesse gave when Ethan finally gave in and began to drink, swallow and repeat. The sound ignited something not just within Ethan's blood, but his body as well, as the seer settled onto Jesse's body with ease.
"Yeessss." Jesse hissed in what Ethan knew was gratification, because he could taste it in the vampire's blood.
The younger –far, far younger– male gave an equally quiet sound of pleasure as the vampire's blood coursed through him, bitter and metallic; sweet and invigorating. Hardly one fragment of a rational thought floated through Ethan's head now. The last fleeting thought the seer had been able to form had been a question: how had he quit drinking Jesse's blood earlier in the year? Experiencing it now, he couldn't imagine giving it up, not for anything.
"Not that I don't thoroughly enjoy you attacking my neck like some ravenous little kitten," Jesse breathe, and Ethan's only response was to hum deeply, unwilling to pull away. "But I've gone without your blood for too long already."
The cut now completely closed, Ethan sighed in frustration, still licking, suckling and now lightly biting at the area where blood had once welled up. Chuckling, Jesse pulled Ethan's pliant legs around him and leaned them both forward until Ethan was lying on his back on the floorboards once more.
"This may pinch a little." Jesse smirked, running a finger along Ethan's pulse point. His fangs descended, peeking out from between his soft, pink lips.
Ethan's head was buzzing pleasantly, bloodstream overtaken by Jesse's own ruby essence. Jesse was everywhere, all around him, in his veins...he knew those lips were soft because Ethan had felt them with his own mere minutes ago.
He felt the first scrape of dangerous fangs against his neck and shivered– and if he were in his right mind, he probably would have been ashamed that he shifted closer. Jesse hummed in approval and brought his arms about the boy under him. Ethan gave a pained noise as Jesse's fangs pierced his skin, but some part of him, a large part, was so incredibly pleased.
Ethan's arms were wrapped around Jesse's shoulders, one hand placed behind his head to keep those fangs in his neck. He felt the blood being drawn from him– knew that Jesse's blood had half-overtaken his own, and knew without a doubt that if Jesse withdrew those razor-sharp canines, the wounds would close in mere moments.
'Ethan.' The teen startled as he heard his name, clear as day. But Jesse hadn't said anything, too immersed in drinking Ethan's life essence. The seer's face tensed in slight pain as Jesse sunk his fangs just a bit deeper. 'Tell me what you're thinking.'
Ethan shook his head the motion almost nonexistent as he tightened his hold on Jesse's short, raven locks. The only thing he could think right then, with Jesse's voice echoing in his mind, was that the vampire wanted to own him, all of him. No place was safe from his presence.
The stars were beautiful tonight, and it pained Ethan to see them. He hadn't forgotten his vow to make it back to his family...far from it! This was all for them, right? In the long run; this was the only way to make it back to them, to give this heartless vampire his full cooperation. Blinking a away tears suddenly, Ethan removed the hand clutching Jesse's head to place it over his eyes.
So lost in sensation and darkness was Ethan that he didn't notice when Jesse had pulled away from his neck. He did notice, however, when Jesse pulled his hand away from his face and began to kiss him.
"The stars are meant to be gazed at with wonder, not misery." Jesse whispered, the words echoing strangely. Ethan realized it was because he had spoken them both from his lips and directly into Ethan's head. "Don't be sad. Think of the adventures we'll have. Think of the all the wonder we can experience...and we'll experience it all together."
The thing was, as much as Ethan wanted to let go of the pain, it was the only connection he had to his life in Whitechapel. No, he wouldn't think of Jesse when he looked at the stars. He'd think of his family! No matter what.
"Get out of my head." Ethan whispered brokenly, no longer tearing up but no longer high on the feeling of euphoria either. "Those thoughts, I'm allowed to keep to myself."
Jesse only gazed down at him, running one finger along the wet trail a tear had left, just under his temple. Then, he nodded.
In the coming months, Ethan would remember this as one of very few times Jesse had agreed to give Ethan something without the seer having to pitch a huge case over it.
"Okay."
Ethan let out a breath of relief as the vampire slid off and away from him, moving to lie next to him on the floor of the boat. They spend a few minutes in silence. It was such a calm night, and the environment combined with the ocean's gentle motions worked well to put Ethan's confused mind and racing heart at ease.
"When was the first time we met?" Jesse seemed surprised at the question.
"I didn't think it would be that important for you to know. It's nothing to worry about."
"...I still want to know." Ethan responded lowly, and Jesse sighed.
"You were so annoying." Jesse answered after a moment, and chuckled. "Well...not really. You were just something I wasn't used to, I guess. You were actually..." He paused. "Precious."
"Stop." Ethan snorted. "You still haven't told me how we met."
"It was a stroke of pure luck the day I found you." Jesse leaned up on one elbow to better look at the seer. "Since we've made an agreement to understand each other, I'll just say it. If things had gone differently– if they'd gone the way I planned, you wouldn't be here. I would have taken your friend Weir back to France with me."
"What?" Ethan asked, sitting up suddenly, shocked. "Benny?! Why?! What does he have to do with anything?"
"How about I let you in on a little secret?" Jesse smiled, leaning forward on his elbows, now lying on his stomach. He seemed happy that he'd caught Ethan's attention. "Your friend Weir? Comes from a long, long line of witches and warlocks, most of whom had great talent in the art of performing magic."
"Your joking." Ethan forced out, mind reeling with thoughts of his best friend. "He...he never told me."
"I doubt he knew about it." Jesse shrugged. "That grandmother of his...I knew her when she was just a little girl. She's a moderately powerful witch, and I fully expect her to begin teaching him the ways of their family sometime within the next year or so."
"Benny's grandma is a witch?" Ethan asked, still reeling from the sudden admission. "Did she know about me?"
"She...must have." Jesse nodded, looking unsure. "Even if the Morgan's aren't related to the Weirs, I don't see how she couldn't have known."
Ethan wasn't sure he had any words to describe what he was feeling right then. Actually, all of what he was hearing seemed so surreal, yet somehow he knew Jesse wasn't lying to him. Such simple words, yet they'd opened up a whole other world to him.
"I met you while I was trying to approach Benjamin Weir." Jesse went on, almost startling Ethan, who'd been so lost in thought. The vampire looked thoughtful. "I gather magical relics, you see. It's part of one of my projects, and warlocks are no different. Just another magical tool I could put to good use."
Ethan winced internally at that, trying not to let it show how much the word 'tool' disconcerted him. Especially while it was being applied to his best friend. Meanwhile, Jesse plowed on with the explanation.
"Then you got in my way, and your family name made me take an interest in you." Jesse smirked. "I knew your grandfathers grandfather after all...he's kind of a legend to us old-timers."
"You knew my grandfather's grandfather."
"You could say that." Jesse got this look on his face; it wasn't tense, exactly, just...different. "Anyway, I decided then that spellmaster's are a dime a dozen, and seers are far harder to come by. So I took you instead."
"That simple, huh? Well don't expect me to be flattered." Ethan said, feeling numb. He didn't want to think about what his or Benny's life might've been like if his best friend had been taken instead of him.
"Look, that's in the past now." Jesse gave him a little half-smile. "And for the record...you don't know how special you really are. So chin up, alright? I'm gonna put you through hell tomorrow."
"Promise me I won't be kept in the dark anymore." Ethan didn't demand, but spoke in a soft voice. The adrenaline from before was gone, and tiredness now sat in his head and limbs like a tangible element.
"We've already agreed, remember? Relax." Ethan only gazed steadily at the vampire, wanting words. Jesse rolled his eyes.
"I promise."

"J'ai raté ça." [I have missed that.]
Hi guys! Did anyone like this chapter? :D
Hope you're all having a great summer! I didn't really know how to end this chapter, but I tried, and it only turned out to be like 5,260 words -_-" I swear, I've been really working to get more chapters up, but it seems like I'm just so tired all the time. Actually, it seems like I'm writing allthe damn time as well and nothing ever really gets done. I'm gonna be a hunchback before the summer is up. Let it never be said that Lady Maito never learns her lessons, because I am trying to write LIKE HELL so I can have something to update when the new school year comes around as well, and I only have, like, a month.
Sorry if the French confuses anyone, it's just that I want to fit little bits of it into the story, and I don't want to insert an authors note I the actual story 'cuz I think that would be disruptive.
Friendly reminder that reviews make me write faster. :) Thank you to those who reviewed last chapter, and the ones before, you are lovely! Until next time!
