Hey, everyone. I want to thank those who R&R. Well, things are taking on a new turn in the story, which you will soon see. And things will soon be coming to an end. We're almost done with the story, which I kinda hate cuz this is one sotry I have really enjoyed writing. I hope everyone has enjoyed it as well.

One step at a time Yuna backed away from the stranger in front of her. With her fear rising, she began to breathe more intensely. Closer and closer he approached her. Yuna backed up in the alley way street light and the stranger stopped dead in his tracks.

"Who are you!" Yuna demanded to know. "Show yourself to me!"

With slight hesitation at first, the stranger took four steps forward, stepping into the light and revealing himself to Yuna. Yuna gasped at the sight before her, too. With slightly long trestles of chestnut that hugged his face, serious emerald green eyes, a serious look almost always upon his face, lightly tanned skin. A long black trench coat, black leather pants, leather vest with a v-shaped neckline and boots completed his look. He tossed loose strands of hair away from his eyes, which only fell back into place, and gave Yuna a crooked smile.

"Don't be afraid, my lady." the stranger said. "I am not here to do you harm."

Yuna was still frightened and wondered where Tidus was. "Where's Tidus?" The stranger merely shrugged his shoulders. "I WANT TIDUS NOT YOU!" The man threw his hands up in defense.

"Where was Tidus just a few minutes ago? It was I that saved your life and not this Tidus character." the stranger said in defense. "At least give me a chance to introduce myself, miss- -"

"No miss. Yuna is fine." Yuna said.

"Yuna, eh?" the stranger said. "Such a beautiful name for a beautiful woman." Yuna blushed meekly at the comment. "What can I do to prove to you how great an honor it is to have met you? Shall we start with coffee?"

"You can start by telling US who the hell you are!" came an angered voice from behind. The stranger turned only to be staring down the barrel of Tidus' 9mm hand gun. The stranger narrowed his eyes at Tidus, glaring at him, which Tidus didn't take kindly to. Therefore, he shoved the end of his gun into his neck. "Got an eye problem!"

"Tidus!" Yuna shouted.

Tidus only glance at Yuna then back at the stanger. "Either tell me who the hell you are or you'll be pushing up daises by sunrise!"

"Is this your Tidus friend, my dear?" the stanger asked.

"The one and only." Tidus answered in place of Yuna. "Now talk!"

The stranger merely chuckled. "Well, if you must know, Tidus, ...I'm Devyn."

"You can put a name to a face, but you still look like a low life bastard to me!" Tidus said

"Tidus!" Yuna shouted yet again.

"I don't buy the gentleman act that you are trying to display because I see the devil that lyes within you." Tidus said.

"My devilish acts?" Devyn questioned. "I'd be asking my own self about devilish acts because if it weren't for me, this pretty little lady would have gotten hurt. Where were you when she was almost attacked by that goon that's now lying on the ground?" Tidus looked at the goon that laid on the ground underfoot and began to lower his gun. "That's right! Put your little toy away."

Yuna walked up beside Devyn, threw him an evil glare, and went straight into Tidus' arms and held him tight. "Where were you?"

Tidus slid his hands down to the small of her back and back up again. "I found another goon at the side of the building and gave chase but he got away." He stroked the back of her hair. "I'm here now and that's all that matters." He slowly released her from his arms even though he never wanted to let her go and looked into her eyes. He cupped her face in his hands, tempting to kiss those lips he saw before his eyes, however, decided against it because the timing surely was not right. "Are you okay?"

"I will be." Yuna said

"What's wrong? There's something you're not telling me.." Tidus investigated.

"The goon that Devyn knocked out just now was the one who. . . held my arms down. . . while. . ."

"GET DOWN!" Tidus ordered and Yuna immediately turned only to see a gun being pointed straight at her and she leaped to the ground just as a shot was fired at her. Tidus returned fire, shooting the goon in the neck who fell to the ground and was dead in a matter of seconds. He then went to Yuna's aid once again, helping her to her feet. He then looked at Devyn. "Where were you when she was almost shot and killed?" he asked with sarcasm in his voice.

Help soon arrived, but most of the goons got away where a few were captured. The dead goon was loaded up in the ambulance and taken to the hospital. No one was hurt inside, however, were very shaken by the events that went down. The club was torn apart a bit, but could be repaired in just a matter of weeks. Auron soon arrived and was doing some major questioning.

"And you just happened to show up at the right time?" Auron asked.

"That is correct." Devyn said.

Auron narrowed his one good eye at him. "I don't buy your crappy story. What moron lurks around in the back of an alley at this time of night?" Devyn didn't respond. "I know of your intentions and you are not going to get far. Stay away from Yuna or Tidus won't be the only one on your ass." Auron then walked away and Devyn snaked his eyes in Yuna's direction. Auron slowly approached his car when he seen lights flashing in the distance. He narrowed his one good eye, trying to figure out who it was and when the car got closer he knew exactly who it was and so did Tidus and Yuna. "What's your status?" he asked while the police car came to a stop.

"Not good at all, sir!" The officer said while getting out of his car. "The lackey in the cell next to Reggie is dead! He's been hung."

Moments later. . .

Lying in a body bag, the lackey was zipped up, loaded in the ambulance and taken away. Tidus stood in front of Reggie's cell questioning him to the fullest extent possible, but he wasn't about to talk.

"Didn't see a thing." Reggie said.

"You're lying!" Tidus said through clinched teeth. "Now you tell me who done this!"

Reggie just smirked. "I didn't see a thing, but I will say this. He was the one that raped your partner and not the guy that the boss shot!"

Tidus then put two and two together. "Your boss shot the one I caught trying to rape her stating that anyone who touched her would be dead. So, he was the one who- -" He then chuckled amusingly. "I'm smarter than you think, Reggie."

"Only because you think so." Reggie said. "Listen to what you just said. The boss will kill ANYONE who even touches Yuna and you have touched her. Maybe in more ways than one or at least thought about it." Tidus narrowed his eyes at Reggie. "So, Mr. Smart Guy, he's coming for you next."

"Let him come." Tidus said. "But I have a question."

"Doesn't mean I'll answer it." Reggie said, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Why does he want Yuna?" Tidus asked.

Reggie hesitated to answer. "To get rid of you." Tidus just looked at Reggie in disbelief.

Auron walked into his office. Everything was dark. He walked over and looked out the window, however, stopped abruptly, turned and noticed someone sitting in his chair.

"Can I help you?" Auron asked.

"Yeah." the figure said standing up and turning on the light over his desk and Auron grinned when he saw who it was, for it was Yuna. "You can start by giving me back my partner." She just grinned.
