Captain Allexandria C. C.

This story starts off with a little thing before the story. It's called a Prologue or something. So, here goes.

"Mum, I'll always love you. You know that, silly!" Allexandria's mother smiled solemnly at her daughter, her only daughter. Her only daughter that was going off to join a ship's crew so she could go to England! Her daughter, dressed in breeches, her hair in a long braid under her big hat. Her daughter…

She burst into tears. "Mum! I'm coming back, no one will know I'm a girl, let alone a women. They'll think I'm a boy, an abnormally short boy, but a boy. Mum, it's going to be okay. Just tell everyone I went on a trip to get rid of the pain of "father's" dieing. No one will guess I'll never grieve his death, for he was the rudest, meanest, nastiest scoundrel you'll ever meet!" Her mother grinned through her tears, hearing her daughter use her 'ship' tongue.

"I know dear. Just… Have fun and be safe, okay my darling? Oh, and here…" She reached up to her neck, and started to undo the clinch that held her necklace in place. Allexandria's eyes went wide, her dark chocolaty eyes subcontracting with the rest of her raven tresses and darkly tanned skin.

"No mum, I will not take that. You know I would never take it! Mum, no!" Her mother only smiled again as she moved to put it on her daughter. "No! Mum, my real father gave you that, I refuse to take it! No!" Her mother only smiled all the more.

"Dear, you can't just walk up to him, and tell him 'Hello. I'm Allexandria. I'm your daughter.' And, knowing you, you'll probably do that, you are going to need proof. And right now, dear, you need this necklace for the strength much more then I do. He is dead, I will not be punished for marrying him any more. So find me your father." Their last words being said, Allexandria too numb to anything but nod after that speech, didn't try to bulk as her mother fastened the clinch around her neck. All she could do was throw her arms around her mother's neck, praying for her safety, while her mother did the same thing.

The only thing that would have been able to pull them away from the embrace would be the warning whistle coming from the ship, which sounded right that moment. Even so, it took a moment before they withdrew, her mother hugging her arms around herself, while her daughter was fighting back the tears that wanted to fall so badly. She refused to start her first day on the ship as a 'wimp,' as the rest of the ship's crew would call her, not knowing she was a girl in the first place. So she sniffled back the tears, picked up the small bag with what little belongings she was bringing, then started up the ramp to the ship, assuming a little more of a slouched position.

This was the ship that would change her life forever.
