"What is it?" Ben asked her, looking over the weathered book with interest. She smiled, before answering his question.

"It's a journal. Written by one of my ancestors during the 1700's. "

Ben opened it, and started to slowly flip through the pages.

"Some of it is kind of boring,it is mostly about their farm life, and life in the french colony, But there are a few parts that I think might interest you. Particularily the parts about the Grande Derangement."

"Grande Derangement...What is that?"

"Umm...1755. The Acadian expulsion, one of the most tramautic events of Nova Scotia. When the british kicked out the french colony due to political reasons and made them relocate to the states and other parts of Canada. Hey I thought you were into history."

"Sorry, but I have never heard of it." Ben explained, as he looked back down at the book.

"Well, it's really quite interesting," Ben told her, looking a little puzzled. "But, what does this have to do with me?"

Amelie looked at him curiously for a second before answering.

"You like treasure, oui?"

"Of course."

"Well, I believe that there are clues in this journal that could lead to a treasure. A huge treasure. I just don't know where to start."

Ben pondered over the situation for a moment, before stepping back to let her in.

"Why don't you start at the beginning?"

It was nearly an hour before she finally got to tell the whole story. First Ben had to call Riley to come over, then he had to get ahold of Abigail.

At last, everyone was seated comfortably in Ben's living room, and they were all looking expectantly at Amelie.

And thus began her story.
