Chapter 3: Delivery??
Priestess has not awaken yet from the two days she has been in that coma like state. Arwen put packages away as Rondae and Jean delivers them. Arwen is not earning money but it was something she could do when both of them are out. Arwen also answer the telephones and radio. The telephone rings and Arwen went to pick it up.
"Thank you for Calling Giro Express Earth Department How may I help you?" asked Arwen.
"Yesss. I have a package that needdss to be delivered," said the guy on the other line who sounded too deep for any human's voice and more sinister.
"Ok where it needs to be delivered," said Arwen. The guy on the other line spoke again.
"I want you to deliver it to Mari's address. I want it to be there before noon," said the voice. Arwen checked the time and it is 11:15.
"Ok sir," said Arwen as she was going to call Jean and Rondae. The guy hanged up on her.
"Hey Rondae," said Arwen on the radio. Rondae had his radio on but sounded like a battle where he is.
"Not now Arwen. I be late going over there," said Rondae as he cut off communication. Arwen looked mad and called Jean.
"Jean," said Arwen as Jean is speeding down the highway. She turned her radio on.
"Yes. Arwen is there is a problem," said Jean. Arwen had a smile on her face as she heard Jean's voice.
"Yes there is a package that needs to be delivered by noon," said Arwen. Jean frowned.
"I won't make it. I am too far for it being transported," said Jean, "Rondae may get there soon. Jean out." Arwen looked mad as she knows that this needs to be delivered and no one is going to help her. A guy appeared in a black cloak.
"Here I need this to be delivered quickly," said the guy in a black cloak. Arwen cannot tell if he is a reploid or not.
"I am sorry sir but all the transporters is out today," said Arwen. The guy gave a furious look that scared Arwen.
"Look I do not care if your mommy works here I need it delivered and I need it delivered now," said the guy. Arwen knows that this is going no where.
"Fine. Then I find a way for it being delivered," said Arwen. The guy smiled as he looked at Arwen.
"That is a good girl. I need it to be delivered at Mari's address. I take it my employer has called," said the cloaked guy.
"Yes sir," said Arwen. The guy left and Arwen knows that she it needs to be delivered and delivered fast. Arwen holds her biometal and sighed.
"Well Model A we have a job to do. I do not want to waste you like this but I know I get Jean and Rondae in trouble," said Arwen.
"MEGA SYSTEM ONLINE, MODEL A. MEGAMERGE," shouted Arwen as she is engulfed in light and has the armor on. She grabbed the package in her hand and a hologram file that contains everything.
"A-trans activate. Model H," said Arwen as she now is Model H's form. Arwen took of flying but shaken when she took off. Soon she gets the hang of the thrusters of the armor. She flew and several Mavericks were after her.
"Oh man not good," said Arwen as she knows that this spells disaster. Arwen tries to think what the suit has and without guidance of the biometal, Arwen is helpless.
"Ok Arwen think, think, think," said Arwen as she found some strings. Arwen tied the package to the side and remembers that she has flight capabilities and that means she has wind abilities. Arwen tries to use the wind capabilities to the test. She manage to create cyclones in a horizontal manner. The Mavericks got hit but Arwen flew out of the way avoiding any more conflict. She check on the map and the address on the package. It was her spot. She remove the package and de-merge. She hold hologram file and the package. Arwen rung the door bell.
"God damn it I was working on something," said a voice. An old guy open the door wearing weird goggles and has no hair at all. His lab jacket shows some type of blood that started to make Arwen feel queasy. The brown pants and shoes also show signs of blood.
"Umm…. Mr. M-M-Mari. A p-package is h-here for y-you," hesitated Arwen as he looked at the white gown girl.
"Ah finally some reliable service," said Mr. Mari as he inspect the package. He smiled.
"Thank you miss. Now where do you need to me to sign," said Mr. Mari. Arwen pulled the hologram file as it shows his address and where to sign. Mr. Mari sign and give Arwen 60,000 Zennies for the trouble. Arwen did not expect that she gets paid but happy when she receive those Zennies. She put them away. Mr. Mari slammed his door as Arwen left in a hurry. Arwen then use Model A again. She then use Model H to get to the Giro Express store. Unfortunately, the government closed the streets for inspection. Arwen sighed as she saw a huge dent on the road. Arwen knows that they will not let her through at all by the looks of people around. Arwen knows that she has 60,000 Zennies to blow. She went to stores and bought her self some clothing and a body suit. Her green shirt is close to Jean's jacket but the difference it is almost uniform to her. She also bought white shorts with plenty of pockets. The body suit is black as normal body suits that people wear most often if they know they will either get dirty or too lazy to wash them. With those clothes she blown her 60,000 Zennies. Though Arwen does not have anything to hold her hair back since it is long down to her waist. Her gown she folded up and put it away. When the government finally open the street Arwen walked in to Giro Express Store. The other guy looked at her.
"Heh. Nice job kiddo. Here is 100,000 Zennies for the delivery," said the guy as he left. Arwen checked on the delivery prices and she saw how much it is worth in E-Crystals and in Zennies. Most people carried Zennies as far as she know of. Arwen puts the money away as she goes back and check on Priestess. Still Priestess has not waken up. Rondae did enter the store.
"Great. The thing I did not want to use through the whole trip. Well Z, I better get fixed up and hopefully the next delivery is not bad as this one," said Rondae as Arwen listen. Rondae heard noises and turns around. Arwen hides somewhere try not to be in sight.
"I know you are in there why don't you come out," said Rondae. Arwen walked out and looked at the sunglasses guy.
"Can you tell my why are you hiding when there is nothing to hide from," said Rondae.
"There was a huge explosion outside people came into the store saying they are from the government. I stood hidden," said Arwen who is telling half baked story.
"I take it this is your first encounter with the satellite laser. When that comes be sure that you are out of its range. It is bad enough Jean and I have to watch you until Priestess is up but also we do not want you to get killed," said Rondae harshly to Arwen.
"That is why I hide," said Arwen. Rondae sighed as he knows that he needs repairs.
"If any package came from now on. Just set them aside. We will wait for Jean except if it deals with a time base one," said Rondae. Rondae walked into his lab and closed it. Arwen left her gown under the counter near the reception desk. Jean walked in and looked dead tired.
"Boy I need a nap. Oh well no packages now time for me to hit the nap sack," said Jean as she completely forget that Arwen is around. Arwen woke up Jean.
"Miss Jean there is a package needed to be delivered. Please wake up. Rondae is still in his laboratory," said Arwen.
"Ok I am up. Huh? Arwen? Where did you get that clothes," said Jean as it was the first time she saw her in those clothes.
"A nice guy gave me Zennies when I walked out for a bit. I went to a store to buy them since I do not want to stay in my gown for a long time," said Arwen.
"Well I guess so. Though you look like you are about to dress like me only difference is that you wear green shirt instead of green jacket still the yellow collar is the same. Well at least you look professional and the shirt is similar to my style. It is fine that way. Now we can be distinctive when people is around," said Jean. Arwen smiled a tad.
"Well you better hurried it up the package can't deliver itself," said Arwen. Jean smiled and left to deliver the package. There was another package came and Arwen sighed. Another timing one. Arwen looked at the clock as it read, 3:30 PM and the package needs to be delivered by four. Arwen knocked at Rondae's laboratory. Rondae sighed and open the door.
"Arwen, can't you see-" said Rondae. Arwen hold a package and smiled a tad. She looked at Rondae.
"You say I can disturb you when a package is timed. Well this needs to be delivered by four o'clock," said Arwen. Rondae sighed and looked at the time.
"Jean should be back we can-" said Rondae. Arwen interrupted him and sighed as she knows Jean went on another delivery.
"Jean did came back but a package earlier than this one came. Jean went to deliver it," said Arwen. Rondae sighed as he knows that he is up for the job.
"Ok fine. If any other packages came just set them aside. We are closing shop around five. We do not receive nor deliver around that time," said Rondae. Arwen smiled wide as she saw Rondae left. It gives Arwen to check on Priestess as she does not know what to do.
"I do not know if you know me or not, but I do not know what to do. I am very confused of what should I be doing and Who supposed to watch me," said Arwen. Just then a package came. Arwen walked up to the counter.
"I need this to be delivered by 5:00 PM. My employer will pay tomorrow," said the guy as he left. Arwen sighs.
"I guess I better close up shop now so that way I can deliver this," said Arwen.
